Scopema Swivel Seat | The Swivel Shop | Ram ProMaster Van Build Series | Van Life | Nomadic Life
In this video I share how I installed a Scopema swivel seat. Having a swivel seat gives the van an open feeling and provides another place to lounge when turned around.

Probably the best video for a Promaster swivel seat install I've seen. Thank you for taking the time to film this.
“That one took me about 20 minutes to figure out…” I love the honesty! I also like the bloopers. A nice change from all the van build videos that want you to think they did it flawlessly on the first try. Great videos, you have a very clear way of explaining things. Good luck on the build.

Your attention to every detail is astonishing. So helpful. I’m about to begin my own buildout and will be using a number of your tutorials. Great content. Again, very helpful. Impressive.

As a former USAF aircraft mechanic I can see that you have good mechanical skill and knowledge on this vid, I didn't watch the others yet haha but I will since I have a similar 2021 Promaster 2500. I have a home so I'm traveling part time whenever I want, love my Promaster!

For sure! Every project has their challenges and not everything goes smoothly. There is a lot of critical thinking and problem solving that goes into a van build, which I LOVE!

YOU GO GIRL!! - I have been viewing DIY van build snippets on you tube for several years and just found your site. I believe you have eclipsed many hundreds of other videos in organization, content, clarity, completeness, technical accuracy, industry, authenticity, transparency, and integrity. If you desire more visibility, six or eight hash tags (#) on each of your videos may increase traffic. Copy hash tags from similar sites. Do you reference this video from your other social sites? You have been honing the skills used on this project all of your life; keep building skills. Best wishes, Jack

Thank you, Jack! This comment means so much. I really appreciate the kind words🥰❤️ Good to know about hashtags! I’ll start incorporating those going forward😄
Your doing a great job on your van conversion. I've been converting my new van and front swivel seats are on my list of things to get asap. they really do turn the space into a hugely enjoyable place to sit and makes your van feel so much bigger. Looking forward to seeing more videos in the future and hope having fun on the road!

Hey Lauren.....Just wanted you to know.None of the Ladies in the van life are doing this.Please put a car alarm on your van with a kill switch on.I have it on all of my rigs.If someone breaks in the alarm will go off.Van won't start.until you do it yourself....Next the alarm will scare wild animals off as well as people around your van.Since your walls are not up yet.It would be an easy install.Just a suggest.

2nd....another good video,looks like its going to be comfy..will you be able to do the driver seat?
@LaurenLawliss
Жыл бұрын
Thanks, Robert! I wasn’t originally planning on installing a swivel mount on the driver side due to my layout but I have made recent changes and will be adding a driver swivel seat next week😍
That was sweet.Are you going to do the same thing to the drivers Seat?I would.The only way is that you would have to put the swivel seat in & then move the base back until the seat turns to your liking.It's possible.Then you could put another small table in to either eat off of or work on.Good Luck >:)))

I love it too! Yes, I have a swivel for the driver side as well that I plan on installing soon. Since it’s just me living in the van I haven’t been in any rush to install it since I can’t sit in both places at once hahaha but I will have it for any guest in the future😆
Nice. I'm 6'2" And would actually like to lower my driver seat. One bad thing about the Promaster's. You sit too high. I have a 22 159" I believe it's identical to yours.
@LaurenLawliss
10 ай бұрын
Personally, I love sitting up high in the ProMaster. Any swivel seat you install will add to the height so I’d advise against it in your instance. Yup, mine is a 2022 159” as well🤗
Hi Lauren, Did you ever finish your build?
@LaurenLawliss
10 ай бұрын
Hey! It is still a work in progress but I have completed a lot since my last video. I’d say it’s about 2/3 done now. I’ve install my walls, plumbing, built cabinetry, installed a heater and much much more. Running behind on videos, but editing the ceiling video as we speak☺️
What is there a reason besides preference that you didn’t put a swivel in the driver seat also?
@LaurenLawliss
9 ай бұрын
Great question! Here are a few things to consider: - Would it be used? Personally, I would not. I already have one on the passenger seat and it’s just me in the van. - The swivel seat adds an inch and a quarter in height, which I didn’t want when driving since I am already so tall. I like my vision where it is. - Most importantly, I will eventually be installing cabinetry directly behind my driver seat so there wouldn’t be enough clearance to turn the chair and make it a comfortable seating option. Hope this helps☺️
I hope you get this......Another thing that makes your van look Great.Was when you installed that window on your vans sliding door.Just wanted you to know.Thanks for Sharing>:)))

Why you need to put the spacer bar?
@LaurenLawliss
4 ай бұрын
Fair question. Without the spacers, components of the seat would prevent it from turning (ie the plastic sides). Hope this provides some clarity.
It will be 13MM socket?
@LaurenLawliss

As I shared in the video, I used a T-40 torx bit for the seat bolts and a 10mm socket for the battery terminal 😊
