Scooter restoration on a TIGHT Budget!! start to finish.
/ @broughbuilt
My baby sister's favorite means of transportation to varsity is with this 150cc Scooter, but after a couple years it was starting to look a bit worse for wear. And it had a leak in the fuel tank that needed repair. So I decided it was time for a make over...

@@BroughBuilt The very best Scooter 🛵 Restoration video I have seen so far my friend...🙏 I just bought one myself in the same conditions if not worse. And has been sitting outside in a yard for five years... 😮 😳 Although barely has 1,000 miles on it... Only paid $50 + $100 for a Lost Title so think I think it is worth saving & restoring..! 👍 Your video has showed me the way and so cannot Thank you enough...🙏 🛵🛵🛵🛵🛵🛵🛵🛵 Happy Scooting to you..!

i got a keeway f-act 2007 ... 2 stroke minarelli horizontal :3 i hope i can do the things you done to this one ... its basicaly the same , only thing is i got smaller engine and different front end ... btw what did you polish the headlight glass and odometer plastic with ??? pls tell meh
@BroughBuilt
4 жыл бұрын
Cool man. You should do it! It was very gratifying to give new life to her. Polishing the headlights is a four step process: first I sand them with 1000grit wet paper till even and matt, then I use compound (like car burnishing compound. Toothpaste will also work). Then polish with car polish. Lastly spray on some Pledge (or any other furniture cleaner) and buff off. Voila!
Fantastic job! Just wondering, why the plastic film over the seat? Doesn't it make slippery to sit on?
@BroughBuilt
4 жыл бұрын
Thank you!! I decided on the plastic cover to make the seat waterproof and more durable. It works well and the seat isn't slippery at all. I actually got the idea from a ride-on lawnmower.
The silencer could have been treated better, no removal of dust rust, straight painting not even primer
@alentirovic1638
3 жыл бұрын
I mean there is legit no need. Since the exhaust is anyways gonna get rusty over time... Its just enough to spray over a rubber coating that is heat resistant and that is it...

Wow, what a transformation! Does anyone here know how to paint the plastic covering? (Their black on this scooter here) I found a lovely vintage inspired scooter second-hand for a good price, it‘s working perfectly, but sadly the darkbrown plastic parts are faded by the sun in colour. The rest looks totally fine. I‘m not sure how to fix the sun damaged parts as I‘ve never done any restoration on scooters before 🥴

Hi. You can buy a "plastic primer" from hardware stores. They even come in aerosol. Rustoleum makes a good product. Just sand the raw plastic part with 600gritt water sanding paper, paint the primer, then after it has dried sand it lightly with 600gritt again just to scuff it evenly and then paint with whatever color aerosol you choose.

Man, I appreciate speeding up the film so that we could see the whole thing. But you sped it up so fast that I just could not follow what you were doing so much of the time. I went back a couple of times to watch something 2-3 times just to follow what you had done and still could not see it. Waaaay to fast.
Tou didn't started the scooter!
