    THX DR for this series of Informative Videos of the Human Spine. Fascinating. I've posted on your other Videos about the results of my Leg Length Discrepancy of 1" shorter right leg for over 5 decades since I fractured the rigjht Femur in 1966. I'm 73 in Oct. The LLD created dextroscoliosis, SI Joint Issues of chronic Inflammation and Spinal Spondyliosis and Facet Joint Syndrome (fancy term for OA in the Facet Joints). With multiple sites of mild to moderate stenosis , DDD, throughout, and now Bone on Bone OA in the right Knee, OA in the Left Hip. Yes, Pat Attention To Your Body!! I really didn't until it was too late. My LLD was left Unaddressed in 1966, circa 18 years later, the problems Began !! Lower back issues mounting, which eventaully traversed up to the top of the neck. Now with Cervical Instabilities wreaking havoc with Tinnitus, Sinusitis, ear & eye pains, TMJ issues, Occipital/ Temporal headaches, Lightheadedness, Vertigo, Military Neck - THX to 48 years of Poor Posture driving 3-4 hours a day commuting!! , IBS, and even Bladder/Bowel Incontinence. The Central and Peripheral Nervous systems have been affected. I suffer Lower leg / calf cramping, terrible lower back / neck stiffness, [L2 and L3 disc Bulges , L5-S1 Spondylioethesis,, T9 disc Bulges, and C2-T2 issues. One condition very rarely discussed is the Chronic Fatigue and I have also been diagnosed with Fibromyalgia as well anxiety.

    22 year old here and in my high school years I was straight backed, posture perfect and was athletic. After I had my daughter, I ALWAYS carried her on my left side of the hip and ended up curving my hip and caused my back to curve as well. Now I am on the road to fix my posture and straighten up my scoliosis 😅

    Doc, I started watching you exactly fifteen days ago on Feb. 17th. And now I'm writing to say it all worked!! Beautifully! 👌🤌👍👍 I'm 65. I spent 43 years observing my pains and also picking up diagnoses for lots of the bits and pieces... Yes there was spondi... Yes there was scoliosis... Yes the SI joint felt like two tectonic plates... Yes one knee was particularly bad... Yes that right shoulder was bad... And yes, someone had indeed hand-measured one leg to be 7mm longer. But who even remembers which leg? And then I hit 65, and they gonna fuse my spondi. Eeek! -Well, that was a month ago! And now? Haha. 😅 I first watched your "Hip Flexors". Then your "Spondi & Stenosis". Then "Can an MRI Cause Lower Back Pain?" Then the "Best Shoes". And with all that ammo, I went to the DPT and she really was helpful. She emphasized the scoliosis several times, AND told me those graphies were "flipped" views! 🤣) Doc, I'm an Engineer. And I saw your title: "Scoliosis is REVERSIBLE!"👀👀 Well long story short, first I flipped the graphy😂 Then traced them tilted bones to the short leg. Then put extra insoles in slippers and shoes. And also put an inch of extra height on that side of my seat cushion. I've been using the new skeleton viciously since a week. No back pain at all... Only the lumbar is protesting, but that's okay. Ah, the nagging dull pain around the uterus also went away. That too was a diagnosis once. 😄 YES! That scoliosis is REVERSIBLE! I totally believe it Doc. Love, love, love...😘😘

    Thanks. Your ideas re. S.I. joint strengthening have really helped my pain subside! I was doing tons of extreme yoga twists for it until I saw your videos. Now trying to avoid irritating the S.I area. Now to address the lifelong scoliosis. Really appreciate your can-do attitude. Most of us ladies have carried a heavy purse on our dominant sides for many years!

    It happened to me by lying on uneven bed. I was lying on my back all the time, and after like less than a year, my right side turned out to be pushed forward and higher than left side, right foot went outward, right knee went inward, had pain and numbness in right leg and arm and disc bulges and pain in left back...Now more year later and I'm still trying to fix it...

    I've had a full fusion a year ago and had problems with my muscles being right and trying go give myself scoliosis again I know its impossible my spine is fully fused but trying yo get comfy lay down, stood up or say down is impossible my muscle pull me body into positions constantly. I feel like it's a losing battle and my surgeon has no advice and ohysio just says exercise nothing seems to help. My hips are fused unevenly there's probably no advice you can give but it's confusing the more I try not to think about to relax the more I tense up just breathing. I had a 56 degree curvature before full fusion

    I have this exact problem due to a leg length discrepancy issue that I just found out about. Do you have a stretching/exercise program you would recommend?

  • @CoreBalance

    @CoreBalance

    5 ай бұрын

    Hi MJ, thank you for your comment! Yes, we do have some recommendations that we'd like to share with you. We view leg length discrepancy as something that can potentially be corrected if it is functional, meaning that it is the result of muscle imbalances. Dr. Ryan believes that if the leg length discrepancy is less than 1/4 of an inch, you may be able to address it through the program. In the past, we've had students in the program with varying leg length discrepancies who reported that correcting muscular imbalances helped address the underlying cause of some discrepancies. Left-right imbalances can lead to one side of the pelvis sitting higher than the other, affecting leg length. We cover left-to-right (frontal plane) muscle imbalances in the latter portion of the program. As you progress through the program, you'll learn how to activate the inhibited side and lengthen the tight/shortened muscles, which can help reduce the leg length discrepancy to some extent. For more information on this topic, please watch this clip of Dr. Ryan discussing it with a student in our program: kzread.infoRwBnedtiW08?feature=shared&t=435. If you're interested, we offer a free 7-day trial covering the first week of the course. You can learn more about it here: www.corebalancetraining.com/program. 😊

    Thanks Doctor A lot of information is there ! From your words i got that, we should carry weight on the opposite side which we used to carry on to correct our posture. I recently tried this way, because i used to carry my backpack on my right side, now i carry weight in the gym by use my left hand and i noticed that my posture is getting corrected, also the muscles of abs, oblique abs and back of the left side is soooo weaker than the right side. So in my opinion if i carry weight on the left side i am pushing my body to strengthen the left side and that will be useful. Please give me your opinion.

    Any wisdom on facet arthropathy?

  • @CoreBalance

    @CoreBalance

    5 ай бұрын

    Hi Lori, thank you so much for your comment! Yes, the Core Balance Training program can be a safe and effective protocol for facet joint arthropathy. It is designed to help you strengthen the surrounding musculature of the spine, improving flexibility and range of motion at the site of the affected facet joint. In most cases, this provides the added benefit of a reduction in pain and improved functionality. Additionally, we teach a comprehensive breathing technique in the program that can gently increase intra-abdominal pressure. When intra-abdominal pressure rises, the abdominal muscles, particularly the transversus abdominis and obliques, contract to provide stability to the spine. This stabilization reduces the load on the facet joints by supporting the vertebral column and limiting excessive movement between vertebrae. I recommend taking advantage of our free 7-day trial as it covers the first week of the course, and many of our students report feeling significant relief during this period. It's also an opportunity to experience the program and see if it might be a good fit for you!

    I have scoliosis in my lower back. It effect my hips never staying in place. And effects my knees to where I can hardly walk. I have: 13 screws; 2 rods; 2 plates and 3 cadaver parts from C3-C7 in my neck. I also had a knee surgery that took out 70% of my right knee. The scoliosis in my lower back was diagnosed a few months ago from X-rays. The chiropractor uses “shockwave therapy” that I went to but my insurance doesn’t cover the therapy.😢 The chiropractor said it’s not to bad yet.
