I had a bus driver, he was the sweetest man. I got him a coffee cup with a lid for Christmas so he was able to drink his coffee while driving us around, and about a week later he came by my house and gave me and my sister a GIANT BAG OF HOMEMADE SNICKERDOODLE COOKIES. I miss that guy. :(

A lot of drivers are subpar, but the good ones you remember for sure. I remember mine would talk to me about pokémon and make fun of me a little because I was clueless. The good ones make the ride enjoyable.

Ayverie Ha ha yeah I can have a story like this that no one believes me about. I had three horses and I lived in a town of 500 people and they would often break out and go run amok in the town. I would get several calls about the horses running around. Then I would have an anxiety attack and have to go running around with a bucket of grain trying to find them

Speaking of bus drivers, in my senior year of high school I rode on the short bus that was reserved for out of district kids since I took classes that weren't at the closer high school. All of us on that bus were all pretty chill with the driver but I talked with her a lot since I sat pretty close to the front, and on the last day of high school she gave me a nice greeting card with a $20 in it as I was getting off of the bus at my house. She was the REAL bus pope.

My elementary school bus driver, Mr. Ron, was the kindest human being I have ever met. He woke up early/stayed late to drop certain kids off at their individual houses (which were in sketchy areas), he gave us all candy/presents on every major holiday so no one felt left out (based on home situations), he talked to shy/lonely kids & paired them up with outgoing kids to help them make friends, and waited for us to go inside our houses before he drove off. Sadly, his wife was diagnosed with cancer right before I started 5th grade, and he had to leave. But even now (at 23 yrs old), I’ll never forget his kind and loving heart. You’re a rockstar Mr. Ron! I hope you are happy and doing well wherever you may be.

Lilee Roberts I have to agree, I rode the bus all the way through high school and I experienced every type of driver possible 😂 but with an undervalued and stressful job I’ve gotta be empathetic

My first bus driver would take all the kids on her route out for ice-cream at the end of the school year. She sent home permission slips and everything. She was strict, but man, did the kids respect her. When she retired, the ride home after school was never anything less than chaos.

The reason why school buses don’t have seatbelts is because in the event of a fire, you want the little kids to be able to get out quickly and not fool around with a seatbelt. However, as a bus driver, sometimes I wish for behavioral reasons the kids had seatbelts.

As a former school bus driver (just resigned for my teaching program), I am so grateful for your appreciation and attention to school bus drivers. It certainly was a rough couple of years. As for the seat belts, the short buses have them to help with student management. But the larger buses don't in case of need for quick evacuation.

When I was in elementary school, my bus driver was the nicest guy. I had really bad anxiety at the time, especially on loud and crowded school busses, but he was always really kind and knew how to calm me down. Plus on the last day of school every year he would let us bring squirt guns in gallons of water and have a water fight on the way home.

You know you lived in a tiny ass town when the town's only bus driver was also the literal mayor. He was awesome, gave out gift bags on holidays and brought doughnuts for everyone on the first and last days of school.

The law: Everyone must wear a seatbelt for their safety. School buses which contain children: ha ha Vroom vroom

My grandma would always give me a box of chocolates or a card for my bus driver, every year at the end of the semester they'd get a box of candy. Loved every time, through at least three different bus driver swaps. They appreciate when they're appreciated. Anyone does. Respect your local bus drivers.

I was homeschooled, so I never rode buses as a kid, BUT I would run in the morning and one day I was running and as I was heading back home, there was a big dog at a house and I was kind of worried it was gonna bite me cuz it wasn't chained up...I didn't know what to do, but then the school bus came along and the bus driver saw I was in trouble and let me on and then I got off at the next stop. So thank you bus drivers, at least one of you is pretty epic.

I had something like this happen in elementary school. My friend and I were playing in the creek down the hill from my house, and then this guy got out of his car from far away, started watching us and messing with his belt. my first bus driver was my cousin and it was the absolute best thing having her pick me up first and getting to pick my seat even though i always sat in the very front and it was genuinely a part of my life i will always remember because it was such a suprise to me plus i don’t think i was very social with other kids as i don’t remember much from actually being in school

I love my bus driver! Mr.Johnson has watched me grow up ever since I was in the second grade! He always got us gifts on holidays and never let the kids he was driving down :)

I'm a school bus driver and I find this video hilarious. Also, I'm shocked at all the drivers yelling at the students in the videos. We were told not to do that because "yelling only makes the situation worse," plus it's a bad message to give children. Also 12:00 I don't know about where these videos are filmed, but here in Pennsylvania, it's a $10,000 fine PER STEP if anyone other than students and employees get on the bus. If it was me, I'd close the door and tell her to go to the other side to talk to me. Also, I had no idea students got such hilarious safety videos. We get videos designed to make us cry because "that driver didn't care enough and now the poor child is traumatized!"😢

@@Thatguymatty23 Unfortunately, it's a common mistake. Children are very small, so it's easy to miss one. Especially if they fell asleep and fell between the seats. A common cause is if the driver got too distracted while searching. They once showed us a safety video where the driver missed the child and two aids missed the child because they thought, "well the driver already looked, so it's no big deal."

I like how the girl STOPPED everybody to tell them to leave their stuff on the bus as to get out faster

I worked as a bus monitor for a year. I had parent try to literally fight me because HER kid was in the wrong and I disciplined then how I was supposed to

My dad is a school bus driver and for this school year, he was told he had to “exercise” his bus. All of the students in our school district are completely virtual so there are no kids to transport. They pay him to drive his bus around aimlessly for three hours a day three times a week. He told me he’s planning on driving to the end of the highway tomorrow, just because.

I remember one time I asked the bus driver why she had a seat belt but none of the kids do, and she said it's because she's the only one who matters. She was being serious.

Bus drivers really are underappreciated. We had a great one in middle school, who had to leave for a few months because he needed heart surgery and when he came back he gave caramels to each student in my class because the surgery was successful. He was really sweet and kind

my bus had this one driver since elementary school then she left all of sudden without telling anyone it was really sad considering she knew *all* of our names and even some grandparents and parents everyone was really sad when we got a new one for the rest of the year

The last bus driver I had was awesome. He was really sweet and caring. I wish I could see him again to tell him “Thank you”

Ngl, Billy was famous at my school. He was in the class for kids with special needs. He was a good kid. I had the honor of accepting my diploma with him, he was 21. Hope he's well.

My dad was 6'2" and easily 220lbs in his prime and he was a school bus driver. To say that my dad is gruff is an understatement and he could be downright scary. He has a tone to his yelling voice that would shake you down to your bones. NOBODY misbehaved on that bus. NOBODY.

My middle school bus driver, Mr. Ray is the 🐐. First of all, every Friday in 6th grade, he would give us all lollipops. Second, he gave everyone fruit snacks on the first day of 7th grade. Next, He is very funny and entertaining. Lastly, he makes sure that every kid on the bus gets where the need to go. Mr. Ray is the best bus driver ever!

@@LottoWavy As a highschool graduate with a 4.0 GPA, and one that switched around to several schools, getting up is a pain in the ass. I'm in college and I've never experienced being this relaxed. Highschool students have it far more rough

My bus driver in 8th grade was a marine corps veteran that fought in the Vietnam war. One of the sweetest people i have ever met. He inspired me to join the military when i grow up too.

My first Scott video still hits hard a year later.

I had the same bus driver for all of middle and high school randomly, and one time I had a lighter and was messing with it along the back side of the seat to make sparks. She pulled over so quick, parked, marched her ass back, put her hand out directly at me, and just said "Give me the lighter" and I just handed it to her because she was fucking psychic. Hats off to bus drivers

I think my (now ex) girlfriend offered once and I said no and we still dated for a few more months lmao (we broke up for unrelated reasons). The only people who want to force you to take drugs are the suppliers who profit the most off of addiction, actual people who do drugs are usually pretty chill

I've never been offered drugs, vape or anything. It's also who I associate with, so I don't get in those situations often

The plus sides to online schooling are: -Not getting up as early -Not bicycling to school -Being on Discord with friends to just chat all day

Ahh yes, the glory of online school. It’s great.

2:59 I just became a school bus driver recently so I can answer that. Most of our busses don’t have seatbelts, because then it wouldn’t be legal to drive until every single child is buckled in, and well, that ain’t gonna happen. So instead the seats are made tall enough so that if they do fly forward, the seat in front of them should cushion it. (Hence why they need to remain seated)

Still thinking about my middle school bus driver who told us that his previous job was disposing of dead bodies and went into great detail about how he got to cut up a body for medical school. Dr Don if you're out there, that was a weird thing to tell 12 year olds
