He played in 20 games during his 2 year NFL career and he caught a total of 8 passes for 149 yards and 0 TD's. He was as solid as the contents of a balloon.

What’s amazing is the NFL still hasn’t learned that you can’t cut your staff and players as soon as they make a mistake. If you do that, other teams will pick them up. And after they’ve shaken off the nerves those players and staff you had no faith end with absolutely dominant. This scenario happens over and over and over again.

Boy the nerve of that Paul Maguire, who was a 245-pound PUNTER for the Bills in the AFL, calling out Bruce Smith (or any other player for that matter) for being overweight on Draft Day. Never understood why he was ever offered a commentating job after retiring from football, he sucked so bad on color.

There was more to the Jerry Rice thing. Dallas wanted Rice badly. They knew that Rice ran a SLIGHTLY slower 40 but also knew that he ran the same time IN PADS. Further, Dallas felt as if no one else knew about Rice. I doubt the 49ers drafted Rice because Bill Walsh saw him on TV. In the Dallas circles, it was thought that a scout inadvertently leaked information on Rice to the 49ers. Thus, Dallas ended up with another bust #1 pick.
