I think one of the most incredible things about both her and Sacha's performances is that whenever they were talking privately to each other in "Kazakh", Maria was actually speaking Bulgarian and Sacha was speaking Hebrew. Like, how do you play off of each other so well when you're not even speaking the same language 😂
@lilina_who

That was the best part. The first few seconds when she spoke I was like "Wait, I actually understand that!" ... Then it hit me, it's a real language, one I speak with my mum and my mum's side of the family every day. That was so funny because it was unexpected. I thought they'd go the same way with her as with Sacha in speaking a non-Slavic language. I also loved the discrepancies in the subtitles when Tutar spoke.

God damn, she is a champion. I'm so glad she auditioned for that movie, I was actually blown away by the relationship they portrayed, it somehow elevated a Borat movie into some real drama along with the laughs. They did so fucking good.
It would have been more dangerous if Maria had a scene with Matt Gaetz instead. And Borat would have had a different line: “She’s 19. She’s too old for you.”

The Republican after 2020: He could exchange the stars and stripes for the hate symbol readily. His ability to organize and incite insurrections ought to go well in the fight against dictatorships. The Republican's old habits of getting hot and bothered will aid greatly on the movie set. From the Capitol building and the (fake) news room to the comedy club is but a step.

She seems like such a lovely human being
Her mouth is like a permanent smile.
When the movie came out, I was so impressed by her performance and there was next to no information about who she was, what kind of work she did previously etc. I'm so happy for her she gets the attention she deserves from this role.
Now I want to watch this movie again. I'm not even a big fan of the Borat movies but thier dynamic in this sequel was literally perfection.
Genuine talent. Sacha is brilliant, so not surprising he chose to mentor her for the project. Congrats!😊
The way Maria's eyebrows dance along with her emotions is a sensation. I hope she will keep her forehead free from any sort of "treatment" always, because her range of expression is fantastic.
Maria YOU are super talented and intelligent and Sacha was LUCKY TO WORK WITH YOU !! (As I am sure he knows himself!). You have a big future ahead of you my dear! The film was great and you are a star.
Congratulations young lady,! Power to the people baby!
She clarified that this was her first *international* film... she went to drama school and had worked quite a bit in Bulgaria before being cast in Borat. She's no novice, she's a trained and dedicated actor!
I had almost forgotten how the president's lawyer got pranked in a movie and is caught with his hand down his pants because he thinks he's about to get lucky with a 20-year old. ON FILM!! 😅😂🤣

She seems like a really sweet young person. She did awesome in the movie, she seems truly thankful of her rise and of Sasha, and seems pretty deserving of all the props and accolades.
She's literally being talkative and confident and people are commenting that she's shy or nervous? I love how people keep categorizing foreign stars as nervous when they stutter on an American talk show. You realize that English isn't her first language, right? Oh yeah, and foreigners must be so nervous because America is just so great...

Before I even saw the movie, I was campaigning for Maria Bakalova to get an Oscar for her performance. Just from watching clips! But then I saw it and felt like she deserved ALL the awards. They should give her best sound editing just because she was that good!! Well deserved Maria!!!
She’s adorable! And a great actor as well.
Hands down deserves an Oscar, she came from no where and then on my monitor watching a random movie. Her performance was so good she stole the show! Sacha must be so happy he found such an amazing side-kick and must be so proud of her! Give this beautiful girl & talented up-coming actress an Oscar!
Her performance was amazing in that movie. She definitely deserves to win the award.
She’s so crazy talented! And can we take a moment to appreciate her look? She looks stunning. Every detail is very well executed.
I love the joy in Stephen's face during this interview
i love this women, i hope she continues to make films.
i still think about the dance scene. she definitely deserves whatever awards she's nominated for.... but i hope i never have to see that again.
What a beautiful incredibly talented young woman... a real breath of fresh air, a true raw diamond... i just hope for her (and us), that she will not allow to be polished the Hollywood way... find yourself a role in a dramatic role off Hollywood, the way Kate Winslet did just after Titanic... i am sure most cinema lovers will agree with me, that both, your talent and potential, know no limits... from the bottom of my heart... all the best to you darling...
She did a boss job, and I wish her a marvelous career
I'm just so impressed with her lifelong accomplishments. What a talented person!
She’s so pretty! She made me laugh along with Sacha. I love them both. Sacha is the BEST 💯

She’s so pretty she shines like a star in the night sky she’s so beautiful 💕💕💕

She exhibited great courage, good comedic timing, and absolutely AMAZING improv skills. She's like the Christoph Waltz of "Inglourious Basterds" -- absolutely essential to the film. I hope her next project can be something safer and something with less gross-out comedy.

Brilliant! My own introduction to Sasha Baron Cohen's dramatic role was with Hugo and I had only known him as a comedic actor so it was as shocking to me as it was to watch Hugh Laurie's sudden turnaround as House since I'd only known him as Bertie Wooster and from the Blackadder series.

Wow 🤩
Gosh. You can see how uncomfortable she is when the subject of that scene with Guiliani comes up. I imagine either from remembering feeling alarmed or scared, from how much it's been publicized and maybe she braces herself against being seen internationally only through that frame of reference as an actor, both, neither....either way, my heart broke a little when she went from comfort and joy to a contracted posture and forced smile.

CIA/FBI should hire Sasha to catch some of the sexual predators,pedophiles,...,etc. running around in the political arena. I recall To Catch a Predator ran into issues; over entrapment allegations??? Anyhow, any elected officials should be held to a higher standard than regular citizens, not the other way around.

I know I speak for many people when I say I wish her the absolute best, hope she keeps that down to earth-slightly nervous to be in such a bright spot light. Too bad she wasn't able to bear spray rudy giuliani when he was "excitedly tucking in his shirt" even though his hand was 100% latched on his limp, short, pepper and peas, while laying down facing her. Shes already a star, hope she's only just beginning. By no means do I mean to cross any lines ( like guliani) but she really does grow more beautiful every time I see her
