Been an arsenal fan for a long time now and have seen some of the best and some of the worst defences we have had, when arteta decided to finally give saliba the chance to show what hes got it was like a new signing and i celebrated his contract renewal like a new signing long may he be an arsneal player 👃

Arteta was right to put him on loan again, even though many foolish fans thought he was ready then. There's still a lot of improvement to come from him. I think mentally he still needs a lot of work to overcome his nerves in big games. Deschamps is 100% correct in not starting Saliba in big games for France.

@@slyarsenalWhat are you talking about? He has been solid in big games this season. Even last season

@@iykeharrison9161 Not all games. He was very nervous against Bayern, Porto, Man City etc. Before the Bayern game, as he was walking off the bus, the cameras were on him. He looked really nervous and looked worse in the tunnel. I saw this same look in the tunnel when he was playing against other eams and went on to look shakey all game. I like Salib, but I've been saying for a long time that fans glorify him because he's a fan favourite. Gabriel has easily been our best defender in the past 16 months. Go look for the footage I explained earlier. I picked up on this way before Deschamps even mentioned Saliba's nerves before big games. The manager's comments proved exactly what I've been saying.

@@iykeharrison9161 I think maybe he mean the games in Champions League against Porto and Bayern Munich at home he was nervous but it's normal for his first appearance in CL. Others big games in Premier League he played good. I don't think Saliba have problem with mentally things in big games some Arsenal fans just reactionary lol Him and Gabriel especially have been good this season.

I doubt we sent him on multiple loans because he wasn't good enough probably just to keep him away from the rubbish happening at the club at that time

your take on his loan period is definitely a hot one. the club didn't "suddenly notice what they'd been missing". you think the back office is run by incompetent kids? instead of throwing a good talent into the prem, they loaned him out to let him play in progressively better teams until he was prem ready. which happened to be when arteta's rebuild was happening.

Was thinking the same. Plus, Saint Etienne would only agree on the deal if we agreed to loan him back for another season.

Just a little tip, it's pronounced ars-nal, not ars-sey-nel. However, Arsenal, the greatest club in the history of football and constant winners over the filthy Tottenham Hotspur also works.

BTW, excellent use of official hi-quality footage. I think you never use more than 3 seconds of 3rd party footage, thus totally staying in fair-use area. It is what you can show in those 3 seconds that counts and you can really show a lot in such a short window of time.
