Very helpful review Rob. I’ve never tried Scarpa boots but will definitely consider them for next winters pair. I agree with you regarding Gore-tex. Its the only waterproof membrane I will use for boots and clothing as it’s never failed me even in horrendous weather. I must admit that I’m a trail running shoe wearer these days for times outside of winter as I like super lightweight footwear for anything with a day pack. Look forward to seeing your review after a few months usage to help with my future purchase considerations 👍

Thanks you and them more I wear these the more I love them so comfy and soft! Yh gortex is definitely the way to go I think. I have just got some walking shoes but look a lot like trainers so will be perfect for weathering then going to the pub so will be putting a review of them up soon. I love my Scarpa's. I have the Terra for normal use and the SL Active for winter time.

Haha awesome mate!! I have those exact boots!! Two pairs of them! 🤣🤣 They have done me proud for a good while now. I got a second pair cus I love them, nothing wrong with the other ones. They have been cleaned after every walk and re waterproofed regularly. Fantastic boots mate good buy there mate 👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻

Oright rob ,rob here 🤣Wicked review mate ,really professional 👌 might have to have at look at these as my Salomons finally let me down after 2 years saying that everything I had on let water through as it was such heavy rain (as you saw in the vid 😂) but this may be due to wear as iv had the boots coat and trousers about 2 years . I always go gortex 👍

Very nice You only get what you pay for,with the odd exception. I made the mistake of buying high gear/Peter storm £50 boots from go outdoors and it’s took some miles to break them in! Probably nearly half their lifespan. So I’ll be Interested to see if there’s any issues. Another great review 👍

I'm a bit of a Scarpa fan - they're a spectacular boot. I like the fast lacing, the membrane as you say and their Italian heritage. Maybe do a follow up video 6 months down the line. You'll be happy in the bog - your feet will be totally dry. Mark

Scarpa boots are generally quite firm underfoot but they've stepped up their insole game a lot in the last year or so. The latest insoles are both more durable and cushioned. They also send out replacement insoles when yours wear out. I've been very impressed with Scarpa durability over the years. Also their HS12 cream is brilliant for keeping boots in good condition and waterproof

Yh I hear there customer service is really good like that and these boots have been really good for me. Tbh have only just got them back out because the weather has been so good and they are as comfortable as I remember 😌 Thank you for watching and taking the time to comment 👍

Do you still like these boots? Thinking of getting a pair but I'm not sure how wide the toebox is. It looks a little like the Vortex which would be fine for me.

I recently purchased a pair of mens Scarpa Vortex GTX hiking shoes and they’re impressive. I had two different pairs of merrell (accentor and Moab II GTX) both were poor. I’m now wanting a pair of tough, very waterproof boots as I live on the edge of Dartmoor in Devon and in winter it is a harsh, wet, boggy place, very unforgiving. Are these boots up to the task?

I have had them in some very wet conditions and have done me well. There has been only one time but that was more to do with my trousers letting water in from the top but once I fixed that they were fine 🙂 I love this boots and will be using them all winter again this year. I went from MOABs to Vortexes years ago and the quality difference is significant. My most recent Vortexes still look good after 2 years of use. Merrell used to wear out in a year. Use Nikwax gel cleaner and reproofer on them. Scarpa have a range of winter boots. They do a Rush trek winter which is an insulated hiking boot but most of their footwear with 4 ply GTX perfomance comfort lining is suitable for winter use.

@sdemosi I've recently purchased a pair of new release Mammut Trovat Tour High GTX Boots and so far so good. Completed a few yomps up on Dartmoor and the boots are very impressive. Thanks for the tip on cleaning products for the Scarpa Vortex shoes. So Nikwax Gel cleaner definitely good for the Scarpa suede?

@@NazSBG yes definitely. I use the Nikwax products roughly every 2 weeks and have done for years. No probs for far. I suggest using HS12 cream and a suede brush every now and again. The cream darkens the nubuck a bit as it nourishes the leather and the water just rolls off any leather you apply the cream too.

@@NazSBG also like Mammut but their fit isn't quite right for me. If they made a 12.3 UK or maybe changed their heels on the Trovat series then I'd be delighted 😁 12 was too tight and the 12.5 had heel slip on my left foot unless I wore very thick winter socks. The Trovat Guide 2 is one of the best made boots I've ever owned however. I guess this is why you have to try on boots before you buy. If I just went with Internet opinion then the Mammut heel would have been a better fit than Scarpa but it didn't work out that way

Allot of foot fatigue on long walks on hard surfaces..better to only use on climbs and soft ground

This is not a boot review! How can you possibly review a pair of boots when you have only worn them for one hour in your house?

Well there are alot of things you can tell my seeing them in person, this was done in a lock down and a lot of people were buying things online, this I'd why I put unboxing in the tital. But thank you for the feedback, I will make it clearer that it is an unboxibg review next time. Thank you
