Scarface asks "Who stole the Soul?" Says Hip Hop is now a drive-through

Ойын-сауық

www.hardknock.tv Exclusive in-depth interview with Scarface backstage at Paid Dues. Part 3 of our interview starts with Scarface asking why white contemporary singers sell more albums than their black counterparts. Scarface proceeds to say that he heard an executive at a tv network that deals with music say that they are now going to target the network for a young white audience. Facemob is concerned that the new generation doesn't know who Kool Herc is and soon wont know who people like KRS-One and himself are because they are being written out of Hip Hop history. "If you gave a fuck about this culture in any shape form or fashion you would not put the shit out that you put out. You would slam the door on artists that came in there with that shit!" Check out the interview for the rest of what Facemob has to say!

I get what you saying. The truth in the matter is that there is a genre of specificity to each culture. This is a cultural thing. Just like there are many religious preferences. They have principles, values, and moral beliefs etc. that are specific to the religions, the same for this culture. It's not ignorance. It's more reality than anything. A people has music to uplift them, that's what R&B, Blues, Hip Hop was and should be to the people of color, just as Country is to white country men and women, just as Reggaeton is to the Latin community, and so on. It's deeper than just saying , "We are the human race." Indeed, we are. We also have very different cultural differences and it heard in our music, which became the voice of our people, not only to share music, but to spread hope and a message across a land that started in a community. It's our way of communicating that we are sharing in the same struggles, but there is hope in our understanding as well as sharing ways to empower that same people who have gotten lost and trying to find their way.

Scarface has alway's been a staple in Hipp Hopp an everything he said is true !! yesterday was the last day for 106 & park which was a show for Black youth too watch Rapp video's after school , I grew up watching them all the way back when Big Tigger was introducing the lastest rapp video's that came out ,cause MTV wouldn't play rapp musician's unless you sounded like young M.C or Tone Loc but hardcore Rapper's like Scarface & NWA got no play on MTV but their sales were thru the roof so Corperate America couldn't ignore them & were forced to recognize their talent & business savy or they were going to be left out ? so now they have found a way to try & control the industry again , so hustler's are going to have to sell CD out their trunks again or give it away on social media ? but I have almost lost all intrest in Hipp Hopp & find myself going back too all the old artist to remember why I fell in love with it in the first place. artist like Scarface , Too Short ,icecube ,Biggie Smalls ,Wu Tang Clan, 2pac ,Rakhiem what the HELL happened to hipp hopp just one man's opinion ! I can understand his explanation. Hip-Hop music has definitely been altered severely over the past couple years, which is why I have dwindled down the list of artists I listen to. This has caused me to dedicate more time to other genres of music because Hip-Hop has changed to a point, it hurts my ears.

Finally someone addressing this!!!!! I've been feeling this way for a few years now. R&B/Soul has disappeared. Major artists all trying to jump on the Electronic Music bandwagon, and their major hits have to fit this genre. - from Usher, to Chris Brown, to Rihanna. Think about it; name a banging Usher CD since Confessions. I don't understand why the artists so freely abandoned this huge legacy of great music. I think the artists need to realize what's happening and give us our music back.

You can say what you want, but it is up to the listeners to request and seek real hip hop and soul, we can only partially blame the mainstream corporations. They only play what people request, start requesting real music, and it will come back. It falls on us as listeners not the labels!

I was telling some person on the internet that there are some awesome beats in rap and hip hop but the kids/rappers should be more creative with the lyrics. Scarface is saying here that people in the industry are telling them what to rap about, so that explains what I was talking about.
