I want to leave a helpful comment for anyone coming to this video for the 1st time - Trying to learn it all in one sitting is a mistake - I almost gave up in frustration. What I did was: 1. learned the 1st 6 notes of the intro (starting at 4:19) over-and-over until I learned the picking pattern. 2. Then, I went back and forth between the A7sus6 and the Asus2 with the picking pattern over-and-over until it sounded like a music box 3. Then, I memorized the intro and played the 1st 14 seconds of this video at 50% by clicking the settings gear and changing the speed 4. Then, I memorized the rest and play at 50% with the 1st 50 seconds of this video. That's where I am right now, trying to clean it up and get the timing right. 5. I hope to play the 1st 50 seconds at 75%, then full speed It's a GREAT video and all the info is here! It's tough, but possible if you break it down into baby steps.

I very very love this song, thanks you for sharing.
Lovely song, great lessons here! Thank you for sharing with us. Added to my finger-style playlist.
Thank you for this video! During my morning practice my wife came into my part of the house playing Scarborough Fair on her phone, so I had to play it but I had forgotten the plucking pattern. Thanks to 30 seconds of this video to remind me of the pattern, I'm back in action again! To the newcomers learning this pattern; it takes muscle memory to play any pattern so practice slowly and after a while it will just click into place, like somebody threw a switch. When I first learned this song it took about 2 hours before it settled in.

Thank you Alan! I recently got into guitar, and especially into fingerpicking. This is one of the best songs for beginning fingerpicking players, and you teach it so well! All this work, done for free, just wow. I started this week, and I almost fully know the song, got to the harder part where you do the pulloffs in the C chord. Wish me luck on that part, and once again, thank you very much for your hard and voluntary work for the future guitar virtuosi on the planet! I wish you the best!

Brilliant format Alan, it's almost perfect! Managed to learn this in about an hour. I think making the strings red on the fretting had as they are played as well / instead of having a separate animation for the picking hand would make it even easier to follow! Keep it up and I'm look forward to more videos, especially if they're Simon and Garfunkel songs.
