Lyrics: Chrononautilus
Spawned by newborn gods
Who view the flesh and bones as stepping stones
Towards greater deeds
That lie in wait beyond
Endeavor to sever the binding ties that hold
A locust swarm beckons the invasion of the soul
This will inspire fear, yet they cower in vain
Their negation of elation, so bizarre (lead them to this light of ours)
Behind the curtains that divide
They lead the masses to apparent light
Thoughts of concern never return, the altergeist instated
Pumped pre-programmed thoughts
The saturated systems overthrown
An invasive creed
That dictates choice for none
The dreaded embedded inside these programmed thoughts
Will focus the questions in direction of our cause
Behind the curtains that divide
Leading the masses to apparent light
Thoughts of concern never return, the altergeist instated
Once it is done, altered world view
Neural design to mechanize
But there is hope, a shadow descends
Chrononautilus
This will inspire fear, yet they cower in vain
Their negation of elation, so bizarre (lead them to this light of ours)
Behind the curtains that divide
Leading the masses to apparent light
Thoughts of concern never return, the altergeist instated
Once it is done, altered world view
Neural design to mechanize
But there is hope, a shadow descends
Chrononautilus
Fate will favor those few choices cleansed from fear
Inward woe dim the blazing stars, blacking out the sun
Night will fall on us, rejoicing world in tears
And our foe points to the reason we came to this present state
Forms block the sun
Sheer daymare
Objects spewed from infinity
Reality shivering, the colors fade
Released from skies that seem to sigh
With consolation
Discarding the beliefs, their pre-programmed thoughts
Continue charge, aim for control
Infernal tactics fail-safe, nanotech spores
The outcome in uncertainty
Behind the curtains that divide
Leading the masses to apparent light
Thoughts of concern sure to return, the altergeist negated
Once it is done, altered world view
Neural design brought to its demise
Liberation, the shadow descends
Chrononautilus

I love this song since I heard it first It was no problem for me to follow the track....but I am also hyped since I heard the first single. In my opinion it is nice that the song isn´t predictable. First time listening felt like many surprising moments in 5 minutes! It is so much fun to listen to the new stuff... LET IT BE JUNE!!!!

I actually love how this song changes its tone from really harsh, to melodic. I've always loved bands who can switch up the pace a bit. I thought the vocals on this song were amazing. Them singing together was cool, and the cleans were so good. I love how it goes full speed then slows down into the beautiful solo and those cleans right after.

Thanks for reacting to all the new Scar Symmetry stuff. I actually had the opposite reaction. I loved this one instantly, whereas the first single took me a few listens to catch on with. I definitely think the similarities to “Technocalyptic Cybergeddon” - one of my favorite Scar Synmetry tracks - are part of it. To me it’s quite epic how much ground this song covers while tying into their last installment. But I’m a huge prog head and love twists and turns, so what you were saying about the song makes sense!

A tip: if you listen to the last song on their previous album, they re-used a lot of melodies from it for this one to show that it's a sort of sequel. Pretty cool, and since it's been so long since the last one was released it doesn't feel like overkill.

Never really dove into this band's discography, but from what I listened to I can honestly say I don't remember them being that heavy. Definitely a more than solid song. 🤘

Is this a new song from them? It’s sick. Their new album should be good. These guys don’t miss.

I know what Chrononautilus means. There's a Travel Time Chronograph made by a company called Nautilus. So basically, this song is about fancy watches. Glad I could be of help. 👍😁

O M G OMG OMG OMG It happeeeeneeed!!! You know I´m a huge Scar Symmetry fan and was waaaiiiting and waiiiting for a new album to come out. I now saw your reaction/a new song in my thumbsnails and just wow... it´s really a big honour for you guys that I´m listening the first new song with you together :D :P So... I also don´t like the term progressive, as most bands being labeled with it just intentionally create confusing song structure, not interesting-to-discover-structure. It´s a thin line with what´s called prog, while true prog, at least imo, means combining the unconventional, taking risks, doing smth new (if possible). You´re PROGressing into the unknown, leaving everything behind. Back to the song - not sure how to describe it, but the nu-metal influences of their last album, combined with left out cheese, a core part of SS´s soul, seem to have been switched out for a more heavy style on this disc even more? Looking forward for the 2nd track. Cheers guys Edit: I think It´s more metalcore-elements, not nu metal since the album Neohumanity. Not sure x) Also it´s pretty obvious for me that their intern ideology/lyrical concept is the real reason for many of the band´s actions, they got "thumbed down" for "consp theories" pretty much.

Sorry you didn't like it. For me it took at least 2 times listening before u could figure out what's going on, but once you can follow the parts clearly its a banger. The only thing I'm concerned is that this one doesn't really work as an opener for the album, it's not on par with let's say the illusionist or morphogenesis. If this was somewhere in between fitting into the flow of the surrounding tracklist it would have a much greater effect. Don't know if that is something you want to hear as a single.

Per's guitar solos are next level. This album was not well received, and knowing Per, he's not satisfied. He's a genius and a perfectionist. He knows we didn't like the album, but now he actually has time to write a good album. I can't wait to see what the answer to this record is!
