Per Nilsson (guitars) is from my hometown, Gävle, Sweden. He sometime collab with local musicians and he also filled in as a touring guitarist for Meshuggah between 2017 and 2021. He also plays with another great progressive band from Sweden called Kaipa. We are also gifted with the multitalented friend of mine Rikard Sjöblom (Beardfish, Gungfly, Big Big Train etc) from the same city. Beardfish is a progressive rock band with a style resembling progressive rock bands from the 1970s, such as Yes and Genesis. Mike Portnoy is a big fan of Beardfish. Rikard plays guitars, keyboards, accordion and sing. Here are some songs to maybe check out on your alone time (or react to): Voluntary Slavery: kzread.info/dash/bejne/qY55uZeYmbmvqpc.html Roulette: kzread.info/dash/bejne/dIagxsyhdrvLfZs.html
Scar Symmetry is soooo good! \m/ Cheers from Sweden!
You can pick anything from any of their albums. You'll have a blast! They are phenomenal!
Yes! 🌀🌀🌀✊✊✊ Limits to infinity next, please! 🌀🌀🙏🙏🙏
This band is so underrated. Per is an incredible guitarist and songwriter. I can’t wait for phase 3.
"That song would have hit too hard without the intro" Chrononautilus: hold my beer :D

@@NatPat-yj2or it does have an intro tho
They are the gold standard of modern metal. This is the apex of good music. If aliens came and wanted to hear music I would play Scar Symmetry.
Scar symmetry ,best band ever ❤

When it comes to conversation about who the best band ever is, there is only one band that I will never argue with, and that one band is Scar Symmetry.
Also... Per's guitar solo's sound perfect live, and on a side note, there are no guitar solo's on their backing tracks when they play live. When he solos on stage, it's 100% all him. Most modern metal bands play with a backing track live now. There are too many layers of ambience and subtle melodic layers to play it all live because there would be 10 players on the stage and it would be next to impossible to get a perfect mix of all the instruments together.
