That's one major discrepancy I realized. In the original he knocked out Zazu, but this time he sent him off. Already at the gorge.... Why didn't Zazu call him out when he said to the lionesses he didn't get to the gorge in time!?

Be prepared was my favorite Disney song and I was deeply disappointed when they shortened the full song :,(

Sorry you didn't enjoy it. The original song is great, but because of the "live action" realistic take they went with I don't think it would have looked right to do the original song. But I understand it's disappointing.

I liked him more in the original. In the first one, he was more sarcastic and charismatic, which matched his look, and it makes sense that when he quips on simba, it seems like he’s just Simba’s cool uncle. In this version, it’s stupid how Mufasa and Simba don’t notice it

Mark Livingstone he isn’t actually evil, because in the wild wild male lions get kicked out of their pride at a certain age. And then they might take over a pride. So, since Mufasa didn’t have that tuft of fur on his back of his legs like Simba and Scar. So, usually lions in the wild kill the other offspring in the pride if they take over. So, since Mufasa doesn’t have the tuft of fur, he took over and killed the other cubs. So, Scar must have tried to fight Mufasa for the pride and tried it again, killed Mufasa, and successfuly would have been the rightful king. So, lions in the wild usually do this anyways. So Scar is not an actual villain

Alexander Smith I disagree man, like they said “a pride with two male lions, ones always distant and one is always present”. I’ve seen multiple documentaries where a pride has two male lions it’s very true. Typically there’s some that look like they don’t care for anyone but themselves and others where there more involved with the pride and cubs. I liked the 2019 version since they made it more real towards the nature of animals. Like how scary wasn’t allied with the hyenas at first because why would they prior? Lions and hyenas hate each other in real life. It only worked this time around because he promised them a lifetime feast. Also the hyena Queen. Really liked that concept since female hyenas are way more dominant than male hyenas. Scar portrayed in 2019 is just way more convincing and realistic in my eyes. The animated version I though how it was dumb Mufasa didn’t notice how sadistic he was.

Loki WAS NOT ADOPTED by Odin. Loki and Odin are step-brothers. In the ancient times they performed a ceremony of blood mixing by cuting their veins and uniting the streams of blood. This ceremony symboleses the covenant between forces of Chaos (Loki) and Order (Odin), and also makes them kind of two polaritys of the single entity. Actual Scandinavian mythos are much more interesting than Marvel stuff.

Princess The Doge it definitely had a deeper meaning, something as early as childhood. Mufasa was very much the favored child throughout his entire life. He was like Simba, favored and told he was destined for something. Scar was not. Scar was an outcast for much of his life, and always was treated as the inferior one. It wasn’t Sarabi.

I did like that they added the whole "practice your roar" scenario in the new one. I think honestly I liked the animated version of Scar more, I am very sad that they cut short the "Be Prepared" scene.

I think scar looks more realistic and has more scars then just one also he looks more intimidating then the cartoon one

I will always love Jeremy Irons' Scar. He is my favorite Disney villain and that's that. However, Chiwetel Eijofor did a fantastic job. In the remake, Scar is pure evil. He doesn't hide his intentions or anything. It's clear from the start he despises Mufasa and Simba and wants to kill them both.

I love this new Scar. He feels more dark, evil and villainous to me. The changed dialogue in the beginning gives more clarity to the brothers' backstory, and now tells us why Scar hates his brother, yet despite the others wanting Scar kicked out of the pride, Mufasa refuses stating "He's still my brother." (Or something like that) Scar seems unaware (or doesn't care in general) that his brother loves him despite the rules of the pride. The feels! The entire stampede scene was terrifying to watch this time around and the new dialogue he says to Simba is another stab to the heart, it made that entire piece even more powerful. And how he tries over and over to convince Sarabi to be his Queen, yet she continues to refuse him. Then for Sarabi to call Scar out on his lie at the end...YES! I loved this new version and I hope to see it again soon.

I disagree with you the movie was ok but the stampede wasnt terrifying didnt felt terrifying the hole movie looked like an animated youtube video didnt look like a movie at all and made scar look ugly with the white grey fur color ew he would look better with the dark brown color and in my opinion i think all disney remakes are horrible and there lazy disney is just doing it for money they dont care in my opinion the originals are better will always be better also the lion king 2019 didnt feel any emotions at all and ruined scar and ruined his personality

In the new movie, Scar acts like a real lion. I mean, at the end of the first movie, Scar juste get killed by hyena easily. In the new movie, he tried to defend himself and took one or two down like a real lion could do

Concidering Mufsa gave Scar his scar well scars since there’s a tiny one right next to it I’d say they’re even and I still love Scar

The 2019 lion king it supposed to be as real as possible, you couldn't expect everything exactly as the animated 1994 movie, i liked the movie a lot it was perfect for me

Scar is definitely one of if not the most iconic Disney villains. Almost everything about his character sends chills down my spine but, I also think that if scar had someone that loved him more that Mufasa from early on he would be a much more decent character.

The only thing I didn't like about this movie was they shortened Be Prepared and that was a disappointment Nice to see you posting videos still

As someone who has cousins that watch "The Lion Guard" Scar reveals in that cartoon that he got his scar from a venomous snake.

If you actually read A Tale of Two Brothers or read about Scar's history (94 or 2019 versions) , you'll see that most of his hatred & jealousy towards Mufasa really comes from their father, Ahadi.* As for Scar in the 2019 version, I saw the movie last night and I liked how they made his hatred for Mufasa go beyond just being next in line for the throne (after Mufasa dies or Simba) and how they added this new love triangle between Mufasa, Sarabi, & Scar. We all knew that Scar was jealous and (grew to) hate(s) his brother, but now we have another possible clue as to why their relationship isn't so great. You're entitled your opinions and I respect them, but I honestly believe that this makes Scar's backstory more interesting and gives him a greater amount of character development than he already had. It all just made me love Scar as a villain even more. *I DO wish that they added more about the family history in the new movie, though.

Razsor97 There is a theory that Scar’s mother Uru and Scar went on a hunt and Uru died at the gorge and he was unable to save her. Scar tells Ahadi what happened and gets scratched in the face and banished.

For the beginning scene in the original movie when we first meet Scar, he actually does call Mufasa his big brother when he when he tries to eat Zazu and Mufasa stops him. He says "Why if it isn't my big brother descending from on high to mingle with the commoners". And this was before the gene pool line.

Another posible reason on how Scar got his scar is in the lion gaurd, season 3, when he sings a song on how he got his scar before doing the same to kion, son of Simba and leader of the lion gaurd. In the song he said that he meet a strange lion, which told him that he could rule everything. And in following the strange lion he got his scar.

I personally really like the original Scar way better. His voice acting and character really fit the villain role. New one feels like hes trying too hard to be "bad". Even the new voice isn't villainous.

I loved the new remake without a shadow of a doubt. And Scar I always thought had an interesting back story. I have heard of many and to be honest they all seem plausible. I always thought and still believe that Scar and Mufasa were brothers. I also believe that Scars name was Taka and Scar was a nickname which stayed and which Zira also loved. I know of the theory that the reason why Scar got the scar in the first place was because the gorge in which Mufasa died was where their mother died. As Scar went there with her but she didn't return with him. And because of this Scar and Mufasa's father gave Scar the scar. I believe that this is why Scar wanted to kill Mufasa there. And when he told Simba to run away and never return he was echoing what he was told from his father all those years before. To me this would explain as to why Scar did not kill Simba himself in the gorge. I also believe that Sarabi and Nala's mother Serafina were the two lionesses that Scar and Mufasa met when they were cubs and that Scar at first liked Sarabi but she chose Mufasa. He tried with Serafina as well but she also chose another male lion. Scar never was able to get what he wanted. Being King or having a queen. I do not take credit for any theory. I have heard many. And still like hearing more. 🦁❤️💖

And I thought Scar couldn't get more evil.....still one of my favourite characters.

scar will always be one of the best villains and even though I would prefer jeremy Irons to return as well for his voice , chiwetel ejiofor did a very good job portraying him.I think if they had put also Be Prepared even modified where needed but in its full version it would be awesome.

The Scar and Sarabi plot comes from how The Lion King is based off the tale of Hamlet.

Scars story never changed. Sarabi was Scars first love, but when Mufasa got to be king after their father.. he got to pick a queen, he picked Sarabi. I get why Scar is pissed to be honest.

Scar in my opinion is a very intelligent villain but slightly reckless and he gets arrogant when Mufasa dies and he tells simba to run instead of killing him. I get what he was trying to achieve, he possibly didn’t want to have to explain why the young cub came back with claw marks and instead lets the hyenas take care of it, but why wouldn’t go to check to make sure he was dead? Scar knew that the hyenas weren’t very good at what they did and had failed him before when the opportunity to kill the cub had be easier ( before mufasa showed up of course) and I am over thinking this, and it is a child’s movie but still.

I’ve always been confused on age... I thought Mufasa was younger than Scar...

This scar is so evil looking because it’s real! Amazing scar!

But I think the back Scar and mufasa were born and they were two brothers scar was good before but their father always looked over mufasa more so he started to become jealous then one day both scar and mufasa were old enough to go outside pride land scar was interested in the Outlands but mufasa told him it was dangerous but he gone there anyway then there he meet hyenas or others (I don't remember ) after returning their father beat scar which gave him a scar on his eye for putting the lives of his friend in danger and disobeying his orders which made him more sad then a time came when his father chose mufasa to be the next king which made scar more evil then he met sarabi and fell in love with her but later mufasa chose sarabi as his queen and sarabi became his queen after that scar became like this but I to be honest I think mufasa deserved to be king but his father should have gave both of them attention

Scars development as a villain all resorts back to his relationship with his father who favored Mufasa over him. I believe that Scars manifestation of his hatred to Mufasa is due to his hatred for his father.

I think new scar could’ve been great. BUT. What makes og scar so scary and lovable is the fact that he seems to love every bit of what he does.he smiles, he cracks sarcastic jokes, and although he is a Debbie downer, he is still witty and clever socially. New scar doesn’t smile, he doesn’t crack jokes, his song (the best song in the og movie) could hardly be called a song, he’s just a stone cold angry killer lion. Which is cool, he’s intimidating. But he will always be missing the signature spark that he should have. He seems more of a shallow character, he has no personality. Yet I do like that they added more backstory in his dialogue.

Scar is one of my favourite Disney villains. I enjoyed the new Scar as much as the original

This is exactly how new movies are; senseless and lack the depth and everyone likes it because they don't even know what art is anymore. It's all about quick bit of entertainment and then next one. The original was a masterpiece that will stay a masterpiece. New one was a great graphical representation and demo for technology but no match for the artistry of the original.

Be Prepared is my favorite Disney song. So sad they didn't gave justice to it.

Scar got a scar cuz of a snake scar said it on season 3 episode 1 from the lion guard

Another thing: In the original, Scar only has the goal of becoming king, and when he accomplishes that goal, he just meanders for the last third. In the remake, his goal is winning the heart of Sarabi, in which becoming king is merely a stepping stone. Not only that, but in the remake, things get progressively worse, as Scar goes from merely overhunting and driving out the herds to starving the lionesses unless Sarabi agrees to be his queen, whereas in the original, things just go to shit and then everybody's idle. Every childrens book adaptation I read of the original cut out the scene looking back at the Pride Lands after Scar takes over because of how pointless it is, but here, it's essential.

Yeah Scar's / Taka / Askari backstory has been changed 3 times 1st it was the book a tale of two brothers 2nd it was the lion guard & 3rd the live action

In the animated movie just after the circle of life opening, Mufasta visits Scar to ask him why he wasn’t at the presentation. And then when Mufasta enters Scar says “Well isn’t it my big brother coming to mingle with the commoners” or something like that. I’d also like to enter the giveaway!

I think that Scar was given his scar by his mother for doing some kind of crime, and that later he was renamed to Scar.

Originally, his name was Taka, (Scar) which means dirt/trash in Swahili. Mufasa means king. His dad, favourited Mufasa and chose him to be the next king. Scar's parents started arguing and eventually, Scar's mother died. His father started abusing him and gave him a scar on his left eye. He became a villain after that. I hope Disney makes a movie about their backstory, but this is just what I've heard.

Scar is good villain its good to bring out more depth of the characters I don't like scar cause mufasa is my favourite and he murders him and then blame poor simba but he is a good villain yes these live action are very good but they will never top originals I don't mind the love plot it just give him more reason to bitter and want my favourite mufasa dead

Yeah cause now 1. Scar challenged Mufasa and lost, therefore he resents not being stronger 2. Sarabi chose Mufasa over Scar, therefore he resents losing his potential mate to his brother 3. Mufasa was next in line to be king, so Scar resented being youngest 4. Simba was bone eliminating any chance for Scar, so he hated his nephew I feel bad for Scar now though

Guess you could say Simba was *SCARRED* for life?

2019 scar was one of the only good things about that movie

The movies clearly state that they’re brothers They call each other brother multiple times And indicate familial relations It’s not rare at all in nature to find two blood brothers running a pride Very common actually

No. He didn't get the scar from mufasa. He recieved it during his days in the lion guard from a snake.

Have u seen lion guard? In one of the episodes scar sings about how he got his scar,and he says something like"and had a friend i didnt see" and a snake that is a friend of a lion that had a scar already gave scar his scar,and the name "scar" is actually a nickname,but i dont know what his actuall name is

I like how Scar is not afraid of Mufasa and how Scar looks

If only they kept mufasa's ghost in the film. It would have been so epic.

Scar got his scar from his father when their mother Uru died during hunting in a stampede with him and their dad blamed him for her death

I find scar really cool, i like his personality, his green and yellow eyes(og lion king), his black mane especialy(og lion king) and ofcource his scar.
