I’m 55 and I lived in Los Angeles county for 6 years as a little kid and Orange County and Riverside County the rest of my life until I left California in 2008. I remember so many places and things about SO CAL. I remember when I was growing up in Huntington Beach we had the freeway killer William Bonin and my friend David was the only survivor of the freeway killer and his accomplices. I also remember so many high profile murder cases and political situations. it was a crazy time growing up in the 60s and 70s and 80s i mean it was fun don’t get me wrong but there was just a lot of things I’ll never forget. Thrifty Drug store 3 scoops of ice cream for $.15

My first neighborhood when I moved to LA 20 years ago. Lived in a building on Vista behind the old Denny’s. It was Hooker Central back in those days. Angelyne sightings at the Denny’s were plentiful. I couldn’t find a job so I went to Blockbuster and was hired at minimum wage. Awful job but saw a lot of celebs when they came in to rent VHS movies. Christina Ricci was the first ( very cool and nice ) and would see Kutcher and Tara Reid, Topher Grace and actually gave Eddie Izzard his first Blockbuster card when he was living here while shooting a movie. It was my first experience in LA and I’m glad I had it. Later became a waiter on the Sunset Strip at the old Hamburger Hamlet. Met tons of famous folks there. Some of whom I still know. The Sunset Strip is all but unrecognizable now. Makes me sad but appreciative that I got to see it before it completely changes. Been following you over the years Scott. I hope you can continue sharing your knowledge and passion with us.

My old Neighborhood, I use to live on the Halloween house street (N. Orange Grove) I miss that neighborhood! I lived there when they filmed the season for American Horror story and it was a f*cking Nightmare! They would block off the streets and there would be huge production trucks running all day and night. Just give you what it was like, you know when you walk around a State Fair or Carnival and the trucks and generators that the rides are connected to are running and you walk behind or between them and that loud running engine sound with that hot air blowing! Yeah that, right outside your door! Not to mention we had parking permits for the street and we would have to move our vehicles a block away when there is hardly any parking as it is, and yeah Street cleaning days also really make things even worse! One night my gf and I were walking to the Coffee Bean around the corner and they were filming a scene on the side of the Baby sitter house from Halloween, the one where Michael Myers is walking across the street to get Jamie Lee Curtis (Lori Strode). Well we lived on that street so legally we can leave when we wanted. So My gf and I are basically walking around the set with the crew and next thing we know, we hear "ACTION" and the director was filming a shot on the side of the house and my gf and i just casually walk behind the camera like "Oh shit, they are filming!!!" we were laughing the whole night about that, pretty funny. The one cool thing though, I went to leave at night around 9 pm and there were snow banks on the sidewalks and curbs that were pretty much all melted! This was July in southern California. So I went and grabbed some snow and made a snowball and ran back in my place and threw it at my gf! I yelled "it's snowing outside!! She had the WTF look? and ran outside with me while we took pics and video. I once found a dead guy on the corner walking around at 1 am, but I will save that for another time.

It makes me sad I've never had the chance to visit Hollywood and explore but at least I can see what your posting on your channel. I'm grateful that you are able to document much of it.
