Bro, I’m in the middle of a lawsuit with my landlord after they refused payment unless I paid an extra $200 right now, just paid the court to start the process. Been living in hotels that cost 3 times rent because I had to fix my credit score after the ID theft since the thieves also applied for a bunch of loans with my info. Then after I finally fixed that I found out now my old landlord is telling any place I apply to that they want me to pay them thousands for the months after the filing, 2 out of 3 I paid them so I could appeal the eviction I just found out was filed AFTER I paid them the extra $200. So I still can’t get approved until I contest that in court. Life is fucked right now.

Had something similar happen to me some weeks ago: I was grocery shopping and a guy came to me asking for a donation for a mute/deaf people association, and between absent mindedness and hope there's decent people around that need help I ended up forfeiting 20€. Beat myself up over it for a couple of days but at least it served as a lesson and I hope I won't ever be this gullible, at least before I go senile

Got scammed recently in toronto. There was a kid who got “kicked” out of a taxi and begged me to pay for his ride so he could get home. Turns out it was a fake taxi and both the kid and driver were in on it as they distracted me, took my credit card and its information of their fake POS, gave me a fake credit card back, and then drove away 🤦‍♂️

Here where i live in Spain, we went to an ice cream place and every 2 minutes, random and different scammers would pass through the street. One of them selling blankets (the money would get used to get higher than an F-16), another one asking for money for gas or something, and the most outrageous one was one that said that down the street were her kids starving, so she needed money to buy food. Luckily, my parents just have this hability to avoid scammers without much trouble. They just say "I have nothing on me, I'm sorry. God bless you" and the scammer just insists and then nothing else, they just walk away without money for crack.

I love how his story is just like a little episode and the part where is contemplating whether he got scammed felt like a mystery coming together moment.

Honestly i think the scamming business is kinda like natural selection. The more people get scammed the more smart people get. And spread the word.

Like 9k likes. only 20 comments that were suspiciously all positive. And the “mr beast” channel only had 17k subs. Not to mention all the other red flags. Like that the video was only 17 seconds. The actual mr beast wasn’t in the video. They were really hard to try to get you to click on a link. Etc. So honestly anyone who falls for a scam like that definitely doesn’t deserve it. But at that point if they’re that gullible they shouldn’t be on the internet because you could probably convince them the sky is falling and in order to stop it they need to give you idk 1,000$ and they would believe it.

Another classic!😂, I've had my fair share of experiences with scammers and I always find myself wishing I just went the other way.

Yeah there’s no doubt she was scamming lol if you didn’t tell her to stop she was going load that cart full of formula until it was well over $1000. The sad reality is most of the time when you help homeless people, they’re gonna spend or use what you give them to get drugs. A lot of them don’t bother asking for money for food anymore because people just went and bought them food and it would always piss them off. Unfortunately I’ve been scammed once too though. I was working as a cashier and when I went to give the guy his change back, the dude said I gave him the wrong change. So I checked and was pretty sure it was right, but the dude started getting progressively angrier and louder about having the wrong change so I checked it again and again until eventually he counted it one more time and left. Luckily for him I’m horrible with confrontation and my brain quits working when people get angry so it ended up stressing me out and I gave him like $20 more than intended. Every time I went to give him his change he would ask to exchange a $10 with 10 ones, then a $20 bill with a couple tens, and he repeated this (while still being an asshole about it) until I eventually fucked up and I guess he got me with a slight of hand. After he left I recounted the register, looked up the scam on KZread and called mall security lol

I've read several homeless people who explained that they occasionally get poisoned with urine, broken glass etc in food they didn't buy themself so they'd often prefer not to take the risk.

As soon as I heard your story of being scammed by a crackhead, it reminded me of that time I gave homeless woman a 20 Swedish crowns. Just remembered how scared I was when she started following me on the bus just to double check if I really had a 100 Swedish crowns, I thought she was going to follow me all the way home, nagging.

@Poultry-lover666 wtf no, the best I could do is just run away like how my dad does when a crackhead clings onto him! Although, if I also were married and my wife was with me, I would drag her with me and not do the same as my dad, who just leaves my mom behind with the crackhead.

I once got scammed into sending photos of yk what, and I was scared when the scammer was threatening to send to family and friends. I looked up what to do and it said to not give in so I prayed to God that would work. Fortunately, it did and I never had to worry about it again. Hope this helps for anyone

Speaking from personal experience, the emotional damage of getting scammed can be way higher than the financial damage. I lost a phone, yeah, but I was so ashamed that I don't really talk to anyone about that particular experience lol.
