John Hagel is a Management consultant for Deloitte & Touch. Its main mission is to found and serve as co-chairman for a major Silicon Valley based reseach center.
He came to USI to give us a talk about disruption and scaling edges.
We are entering increasingly disruptive times that will challenge us to transform our business in profound ways. The business world is under pressure: strong competition is everywhere, changes are happening faster than ever and this ultra-connectivity puts pression in our world. This is the dark side of technology: we are always looking for performance, we have to put up with all of this. It’s critical to ask our companies and CEO how they see our future, how companies see their role and ambition according to this pressure.
John Hagel gives us some advice on how to use those technologies and fast changes to keep our companies up and competitives. One of the key is to move fast.
Conventional approaches to transformation are rarely successful, but the same forces that are creating disruption give us the tools to pursue much more promising approaches to transformation. Scaling edges represents a much more promising approach to transformation, but are you willing to go to the edge?

Wonderful talk. It resonates my idea of A Baby Company alternative: The Baby inherited the Corporate knowledge, Corporate relationship, Corporate funding in their DNA to grow organically with open eyes to try a new way with a fresh mind and agile operational body. Creating an internal competitor from the external world. (Internal Corporate Knowledge and External Industry Knowledge and Connection) As soon as the first baby born and growth, think about another baby three to four times in every three to four years. The senior leadership team from the Parent Company plays a Grandparent role by just giving baby advise when it gets older, not enforcing any command in the early stage. The mother is cofounders of the baby and father is supportive leadership inside of the hot team. The mother looks after the baby in the early stages from feeding to empathy. • Need to find the parent • Negotiation is like getting pregnant • Think about Giving the birth at right time in the right situation • Just fund the initial cost of the first 6 months more ....

Reward people who give assistance not those that hold on to knowledge
