Scaler 2 is a true game changer. It actually pushed me to learn music theory and to try to understand all the concepts behind it. This is one of the most sophisticated pieces of software which I've seen so far. I don't know how you managed to make it so cheap and at the same time make it that good! This is truly impressive. Thank you so much!

This is amazing. The future of music composition. For future development here are some more ideas to take this software beyond the stratosphere and into another galaxy. 1. Add a midi file drop feature into melody, bass and rhythm to allow even more flexibility. So you can play any midi file. 2. Add the ability to create a user scale. World scales and exotic tunings will play a major role in revolutionising pop and electronic music into the 2020s I reckon But this is brilliant. Great job guys!

Scaler is a fantastic tool which i use regularly in my productions.

Remember Scaler adapts is bass lines and melody lines to your own chord progressions which can vary through modulation, voicing etc. Then you can vary the harmonic content itself and you can scale based or chord based so the possibilities are endless. You will never write a good tune if you don't have the vision for it. Scaler will only help you get there quicker. it could be argued that every melody has been done before, every chord progression has been done before but still each tune you love feels different.

David, have you considered turning your company's extensive MIDI tool skills demonstrated with Scaler towards a state of the art Arpeggiator/Sequencer/Music Generator? I think there is a serious opportunity to combine the "best of breed" capabilities from tools like: Riff Generation (state of the art sequence auto generation with up to 5 sound sources) Arpology Fluid Harmonics (3 sound sources Arp'd together) SEQui2r SE / Synth (lets you play in notes to build a sequence, supports Random Above/Below for any note) Unify (also working to importing played or "found" MIDI sequences to apply) Harvest (rhythmic entry of notes that get randomized) and the best features from all the other arps and related MIDI tools: Cream, Cthulu, Xronomorph, Euclidian Rhythms, Polystep Sequencer, Quad Note Generator, Kompulsion, Mercury, Noteset Corrector/Filter, Rhygenerator, Riffer Generator, ST100 Strumming Machine, Stochas, etc. I'm thinking if you whiteboard the best feature set from all of these, you end up with something where a user can: - play into it live (from any MIDI device, or, any recorded MIDI) a mix of monophonic AND polyphonic notes for TIMING and/or PITCH values to capture and create a sequence (ala Unify, Harvest and SEQui2r SE) with quantization ability. This could be the finished sequence/arp, or a starting point for randomization to enhance the seed idea - Enable Random pitch substitution on chosen notes in the sequence (ala SEQui2r SE) above chosen note, or below chosen note, or any of defined scale or notes to be allowed - constrain to scales, but also to specific notes within the scale, or simply any random group of desired notes (ala Harvest, SEQui2r SE) - have a huge range of randomization constraints (ala Riff Generation) to apply when randomizing - generate full sequences (ala Riff Generation) that MAY or MAY NOT use parameters from other capabilities listed above or below - lock notes/portions of sequences/arps/riffs and regenerate the rest of it - output to up to 16 MIDI channels to drive individual synths (Riff Generation does 5, Unify does 16) with either individual sequences, of combinations of interleaved notes in sequence, assigned by pitch, or random or fixed order (ala Veevum series of synths): MIDI channel becomes an optional element of each sequence/pattern or arp - infinite random generation setting with set number of bars before next random generation (ala Playbeat random drum pattern sequencer) to capture best sequences that appear during playback without halting playback, selectable parameters for what gets randomized each time (optionally note timing could be locked and note pitches randomized, or vice versa) - Up to 16 stored patterns, and a pattern sequencer to chain them in any order to build songs - Patterns and Sequences working together as separate elements coming together (SEQui2r SE), one, the other, or both being fixed and not randomized - Patterns that get invoked only on certain pitches in a sequence being activated (such as a Tonic), or happening to a controlled percentage of the time - Randomize from a fixed Starting Point; option to return to a fixed starting point after a specific limited number of randomizations (sequence/pattern/arp) and a percentage of change allowed for each pass in notes/timing, etc. to create "variations based on a starting point or theme" - Potentially link to Scaler to be fed unique information such as scale in use and leverage this info uniquely Your team has shown both outstanding interface design as well as execution capabilities to build a well thought out, state of the art tool: I couldn't imagine another company even considering building a tool to compete with Scaler. Perhaps you could do something similar in the Arp/Sequencer/Generator space as well... thanks for listening!

Is there a way to add slash chords? I use them a lot when writing on the guitar and would like to use them in scaler. Thanks!

What would have been really great here - If you brought in a singer - male or female and just jam the heck off that piece .. you know, to get us started :)

Can i edit bass or melody midi notas in a scale window? These presets are very little, for example i want to modify a bass phrase preset to a funky riff in automatic scale? And maybe share it to Scaler user preset pool in plugin interface? This feature could be really cery cool..

Im thinking of buying Scaler 2, how applicable are the melodic ideas outside of pop and/or electronic music? Say I wanted orchestral melodies, or symphonic metal or guitar parts? Regardless, looks like incredible software!

They work very well with Orchestral and guitar parts, many of the videos here demo those appellations. You can download a free trial and check it out! Looking forward to having you as part of the scale community!

@@SchoolofSynthesis awesome thank you so much for the reply! I am a software engineer by profession who has just started dabbling in music theory and this seems like the perfect compliment to that. I will check it out, didnt realize there was a free trial
