Saving 10k Resolution Images in ARCHICAD23
This is a followup video on boosting image resolution in @Archicad
We'll cover both Perspective and Axonometry views, and demonstrate how to save them in super high resolution.
Note!! - Max Resolution is 16,000 x 16,000 Pixels in ARCHICAD23.

And how big is the PDF?

Yes with the Axo, it’s all about doing the selection>zoom to selection to get it centered up before saving the view

Dave it was 5mbs, totally forgot to check and mention the size haha. I think that was full res but with PDFs you can limit the DPI which I don’t think I did

@@CONTRABIM 5mb is totally acceptable. nice.
Hey, it's really tricky tips, I loved it, when u mix the graphic override with some command, u can use like the render_id for further editing on photoshop! thanks a lot, May I ask how did u made a dark theme visualization, thaanks for advance!

Thanks! Glad you like the videos. The dark mode is by changing the background color of the 3d window, easy to do in the 3D Styles Setting!
@CONTRABIM Thanks for the explanation! But, I'm having a little issue here. For any other Mac users struggling with the same problem, I can't find a way to expand the window back to the available size of the screen. In other words, I increased the size of the window as you clearly explained, but my window is still floating in the workspace. I can't find a way to make the window tab go back in place to the top bar where the other tabs are (stories, elevations, layouts, etc). Double clicking the window just makes it go fullscreen, and right clicking it doesn't show any helpful options. If you know how to solve this, I would really appreciate it! Thanks again!

Doesn't work on a MAC

Adam Wallace Yes It seems some MACs may have limitations with this one. Let’s chalk this up as a win for PCs and hopefully with the next release MAC catches up:)

Yes, unfortunately it does not work on a Mac. I was able to increase only the 3d window length, not its height. When you do this, the 3D window will unanchor from the other windows. The added length in the image shows only empty space, as if you would have decreased the focal length (hence widened the angle) of you camera. Strangely enough, if you re-anchor the 3D window prior to saving the view, you be able to increase the image resolution, but it will be cropped, because the total height of the image won't be increased.
i dont have "open bim" folder do you have a other method plz
Doesn't work in Archicad 25 anymore, does it? When I set 3D window size in A25, it just adds more empty space to the right and below, but my view is still same. It is not expanded. Blaaah ......

Are you viewing in Axo or Perspective? For me, in Perspective it works perfectly, as demonstrated in the video. When in Axonometry, you are right that the content may stay in the same position, with extra empty space created to the right and downward. This is the time to do that zoom extents to center up what you had in the view. Marque from the floorplan can help center this. The viewpoint angle should remain the same... Hope you figure it out!

And then of course save the view so that it remains in that position when saving to layout or save as...

@@CONTRABIM in Archicad 25 , as in Perspective, it really doesn't work when I try to turn on the two-point perspective thing, the contents remain in the left upper corner. And if I zoom extent ("zoom to selected" or "fit to window" ), the saved perspective view gets messed up.
@CONTRABIM

@@TheItachiUchiha97 Yes I think going to a two point perspective can blow this workflow up. It is possible to set the resolution in the 3d view settings after saving it with the 2-point projection, but it get's a little weird and you have to recenter the image a few times to get it right.

3D-document view saves av vector image?
@CONTRABIM

3D-docs are great for vectorized views, but if you want the textures, lighting and colors from opengl engine, you'll need to save as image format. Great question tho! Two very different outputs from the same sources..

@@CONTRABIM great John! 👏
can you change the dpi somehow
@CONTRABIM
Жыл бұрын
DPI is typically based on two factors, the resolution of an image (main factor), and how large or small the image is stretched onto layout space. If you condense an image, DPI will go up. If you stretch an image, it will go down. Hope that makes sense!
this doesn't work for mac?

I've heard that some users did have issues on mac. Are you trying to do a axo or perspective view? I'd start with a perspective to make sure the steps shown work first, then with axo you can try to zoom extents after you've reset the window size.
