  I'm having problems when using Splines as contour lines. The curves in the mesh become millions of points when I put the spline into the mesh. Is there a option so that the mesh doesn't turn everything into points?

  you do this really interesting move in 3D where you move the camera in XYZ but also rotate around. This is shown really obviously around the 9:30 mark. How do you do that?

  I've always wanted to ask you that question. i feel the Twinmotion French presenter has the same. Impossible to achieve that smoothness and immersion with mouse and keyboard. It always feels so clunky during presentations! I just found this video of yours (btw I love your presentations!) and just ordered mine. Weight is annoying as I flight quite a bit for work, but it is what it is! Keep up the good work!

  Hey thanks for the video I started modeling on Archicad and exported it to sketchup to continue modeling the interior objects.   Thank you for this John. I'm going to try and explore this topic more. Currenty I'm trying to automate a schedule where I can pull out data (wall strenght in kN) from elements (in this case walls) which represent plywood bracings. I am going to attempt this by creating a simple formula where i can input height and lenght (no thickness for now) and associate a multiplier (don't even know this is possible >.<) and hopefully get the resistance in kN. if you have any tips or already know I'm wasting my time, please I'm all ears.

  There is no MEP Routing Tool in AC27. Instead, there are the new Piping Routing, Duct Routing, Cable Routing design tools instead. They can be a little tricky to figure out, but easy to use once you get the hang of it

  Thanks for the comment. 1. After downloading, unzip. 2. Open Work Environment Settings, go to WE Profiles (top tab). 3. Import, by navigating to top folder of downloaded WE, then import top folder. 4. Note Schemes stored with profile, then apply!

  Hello. Just open your classification manager, and look for the little info button at the bottom by import. There's a link that will take you to Graphisoft's site where they have several classifications in XML format to download!

  Thank you very much, always a lot to learning from you. Not a big issue but I noticed that every time I open a new file the issue manager and organizer palettes are open, I tried to close them and save the workspace scheme..is it a bug?

  Hi there. Yes I think it may have been a bug, but fixed in the latest release. You'll have to undock those palettes, close them, and then redefine/update your Workspace Scheme. Thanks for the comment, I'll have to update the download as well:)

  I'm wondering if you could more specifically describe the graphic overrides you use both for 3d and 2d rough carpentry? I can't seem to get my 3d view to look like yours with the architecture ghosted wireframe and the framing elements solid colors. Thanks!

  Sure, thanks for the question. So to ghost out the project, I apply an override to pretty much everything, which is the lowest priority rule. Above that, I create overrides for different framing members, based on their element ID containing a specific word. So King Stud/Trimmer/Bottom/Top Plates/Headers etc... All of these can have a specific pen and surface override, and when placed ahead of the general ghosting override, will make them all pop. In between those two groups of overrides, I have a more general Rough Carpentry override, which is based on materials, searching for anything that is wood framing type material and overriding with an black pen and orange surface color. That way it can catch the other misc. framing members to bring forward from the ghosting. Hope that helps!

  not sure what Im doing wrong but not one of these things work. I click the mesh button it wants to vreate more meshes, not dots. I finally get the dots but the Z height option is missing and when I put the mesh in 3D I dont see any of the mesh lines to even begin to adjust any height. Been at this 3 hours, 10 videos, and Im still lost. Something is always missing from tutorials...like what settings is the workspace in before you start. Things like that nobody seems to tell so Im left using a magnify glass to attempt to see what settings youre on. IDK..not working for me in Archicad 27

  Hi Michael, let's see if we can get you squared away! 1. When working with the mesh tool, and editing the placed mesh, always good to have the mesh as your activated tool in the toolbar. If you're on a different tool (line or spline), and trying to edit the mesh, you won't get all the pet palette options. 2. First place a simple mesh, then draw some polylines over it with nodes beyond the extents on both sides. It's best practice not to have the lines end at the edge of the mesh, but extend beyond. 3. With the mesh tool selected first, then select your placed mesh, then hold down the space bar (magic wand tool) and click over your lines. This will create the nodes based on the line. 4. Then select one of the nodes along your line, and look for the pet palette option to adjust z value. If you follow these steps exactly you should have it sorted! Let me know if not:)

  MEP routing tool symbol to click on is not shown on the top toolbar of my Archicad 27 as shown on this video. Is there another way to access this tool dialogue box? Also, when I click on a pipe hot spot there is not option to stretch the pipe.

  Hello! Great question. There is no MEP Routing Tool anymore, as was previously included in v26 and prior. The Routing is now built into the pipe, duct, and cabling tools. Pretty much all the MEP design tools have been retooled, for better and for worse. I'd recommend to get familiar with the Pipe Routing Tool, which now includes subcomponents for Pipe, Elbows and Transitions... I'm due for putting out a video on all these new features, the good, bad and ugly:)

  Thank you. I did discover that if I run piping in V-27 I can stretch as I was able to do in V-24. Unfortunately most of my MEP pipe work will need to be redone/traced over as hot spots do not active the stretch option in the pop out toobox. Not sure if this is an oversight by Graphisoft or an issue with my file. Sadly hours of work done the drain. @@CONTRABIM
