I've been a carpenter 30 years plus, wish I had used knee pads early on in the game, both my knees rooted
PRO KNEES RULE ! I remember when they first came out ... many thought they were too expensive BUT they are GREAT !
I agree 100%. I have tried to learn from the mistakes my dad made with 50 yrs in the trades. I take better care of my eyes, ears and knees. I bought a set of these about 5 years ago. Spendy but we’ll worth it. Also is nice that they can be rebuilt as well. Keep up the great content.
Thanks! I'm a handyman moving up into the contractor world. I've learned a lot from your videos. Especially the door vids. Appreciate ya man!

Thank you! I am a young finish carpenter and your advice in a previous video is one of the main reasons I always use knee pads now, your content has really helped me in many ways.

keep using them !
Thanks Spencer. As an aging carpenter i can truly appreciate this.
I concur. I decided to not afford them for many years, when I finally did, I was Extremely pleased!:))
I’ve had a pair for 16 years and there amazing!!!!!!! Best pads out there!
I have had these for years. And as a finish carpenter they are a life saver! With every penny!
Thank you - I immediately took off my work boots, measured to the top of my knee, and bought a pair. 🙏🙏

From where did you find them?
In addition to kneepads, a roll around mechanics stool is very effective.

Have used the Proknees for the past 4 years. Very helpful saving my knees. Works very well in hot weather. Easy to walk with.
I have had my pro knees for 3 years, one of the best purchases I’ve made.
Geez… I’ve had these for over 20yrs. I have told every carpenter about these and I only see them on the flooring guys. They make baseboard somewhat a pleasure. 😂

I wouldn't go as far as saying its a pleasure... LOL but they definitely make it bearable.
I had bad knees to start with thanks to a couple football injuries and playing catcher in baseball. Every once in a while I'll book a job that's mostly lvp and baseboards and by the end I've given up on the knee pads and I'm just rolling around on a mechanics stool.

Maybe a different line of work?
I've got those same knee pads and they work very well!!!
28 years I've been using these knee pads. They are the truth and the way.
I have these for nice floors and some robo-cop monsters for rough floors. Knee pads, glasses, hearing protection and respiration protection - find the ones that are comfortable enough that you’ll use them.
Best advice for anyone doing construction. In 40 yrs. You won't regret it. I do.
yes this is a great pro tip. thank you sir.
That’s a well hydrated man right there. My feet in that position and here comes the cramp!
Safety first. Is not expensive as a knee surgery.
Pro knees are the best pads on the market! Great warranty and customer service too!
dude those are pretty awesome
Cool fact, this company is based out of Maine. I never hear about products coming out of there. I’ll be looking to get a pair.
pro knee knee pads are fantastic. I was a flooring contractor for 32 years. I wouldn't have made it past 20 years without them. Wirth every single dime I paid for them
The thing that makes **his** Pro kneepads DIFFERENT, is that they distributed your weight OFF of your knees and onto your skins. That, to me, is game changing. God bless! There were only 44 comments--and I read them all--after I watched this video. Everyone (me included) has great kneepads and we (almost) always wear them while on our knees. But... it may be worth giving these longer kneepads a try.
All my work pants have knee pad inserts. Best thing ever.
That’s a must buy!!!!!
Thanks for sharing and putting the link in the description! Ron
I have them. They are good.
I agree, i didn’t want to cough up the $250. They last for years, ten hour days are no problem,.
40 years ago I bought catchers knee pads and use them for ever best safety equipment I ever bought for myself !!!
I'm a plumber and I don't even get out of my van without my knee pads on. Every single job I wear em

I found it’s better to just put them on first thing in the morning and not take them off , if not I’ll keep them in the trailer and keep forgetting to grab them
Worth every penny..
Plus these are completely rebuildable. They are worth the $100!! I'm a finish carpenter & these are a game changer!!
Try wearing high quality volleyball knee pads like Mizuno. Super comfortable, enough pad to protect the knee, low profile, no plastic. You can wear them under your pants. I often forget I’m wearing them.
I've had mine for close to 20 years. Great investment. I've had mine rebuilt many times.
Same ones I got, worth the price! Great for tile work too!
Definitely one of the best investments I made in tools.
YYEESS KNEE PADS GENTLEMEN! I remember being 18 starting my electrical career, never wore pads... I'm 26 now and my left knee is blown out now... hurts like hell getting off my knee now
My wife is gonna love these
The last 1200 sqft tile floor i installed killed my knees. Ill be looking for a set of these!
Very good advice. I will follow that advice.
100% agree OK good for me take it from me I have knee replacement it is no joke
I never wore knee pads until earlier this year and now I consider them MANDATORY PPE. Young people in the trades, get accustomed to eye, ear, and knee protection early and just make it your routine to use them. For me, putting these things on feels like suiting up for battle, and once everything is in place I’m ready for my work day.
Man I wish I had found this product many years ago.. definitely buying some thanks bud
I wear pants with pads built in, super comfortable.
I learn so much from this guy
Love mine. Took some time to get used to.
I'm a hardwood floor installer and have used knee pro for years. Almost can't get on my knees without them now though. But my knees still fell great after almost 20 years.
I have (GEL) knee pads everywhere… I have them in my laundry room, truck, garage, tool box, golf cart, SxS… I can’t kneel down without them… I learned the hard way, now my knees are gone
Absolutely sir I'm hurting after 40 yrs plus
First thing I do when in the job site is put my knee pads, always!

I feel naked without knee pads on
I've been doing trim since 2010, have run miles of base without knee pads. I have to agree with you on this. I use Troxel, only $40. One strap, wide neoprene with a foam pad. I love em. Those look like you're missing a helmet and catchers glove! I bet they're comfy. Consider me interested.
The toes in those new balances ain’t gonna make it through one job! 😂
Thanks for this information!
I use à thick yoga mat. Large so I don’t have to move it around as much, long so I can lay on it when needed for under sink work or what not, and is a great pad to lay over applicables like washer/dryers to not damage them
I bought Caterpillar work pants, the pads are in the pouch so you don't have sweaty legs
@ThisTall
Жыл бұрын
I bought the same style by Timberland. The pad was never right where I wanted it and could shift out of place as your pant shifted around your leg.
I've bought two pairs of these back in the day. I got tired of them getting stolen. These are 200 plus on the dollars. I was a commercial tile setter. Now I stick with residential.
A little expensive...everything thing you own Spencer is a little expensive lol. Keep up the good work!

You're not alone my friend. I'm pushing 60 and am always the first one to put on knee pads, gloves or a mask especially when it comes to sanding spackle. If I don't wear gloves it cracks my fingers horribly. I guess we're not bullet proof anymore.

In a few years you will be laughing and making jokes at them when they have to go for knee surgery
Hell the way they strap is much nicer too. Around the calf and ankle is much more conducive to keeping them in place.
I caught that smirk at the end. 😉
I've met so many trim guys who refuse to wear knee pads. I don't understand.

They will eventually understand!
I don’t do any of these jobs but I do know about bad knees. I don’t care how much those cost. They will always be cheaper than anything else you will have to pay for in your later years if you don’t protect your knees.
I’ve been wanting to upgrade from my Milwaukee pads to something better. I’m now stuck between wanting to try these and the “kneel it v3” with seat and wheels. Both are about the same price.
Thank you for all your advice and everyone for their comments, it's good to hear that other people are having a good success with this pads. I have been wearing other ones, trying what ever I find it's the best, but I am still hurting, so after this video and all comments I just bought a pair. I will come back and review them Cheers

Love my ProKnees!!!
Wish they would have been around when I was young. I have bad knees cause of years and years of abuse to my knees.
Yjust did a room of base after sub floor and laminate floor.. I love knee pads. They are a necessity.

Wish I had seen this when I was working on floor duct at the casino back in 2009. Those look SO MUCH better than what I used. My knees ached every day even though I was taking 12 Advils a day. Yup, had a knee replaced 3 years later. Will have the left one done soon.

Guy that had three scopes also agrees
I've got a pair!! The best hands down. And they can be fully rebuilt
As a floor layer, I tried pro knees and couldn't stand them as they are so restrictive when getting up and down all day. I use Fento knee pads which are super light and have a changeable insert where the padding is. Leagues better than those clunky pro knees with hard plastic shin stuck in the top of your shoe.

@phlebas9204 regular size work for me
I dont wear pants with knee pads because the pants will fold up between your knee and the knee pad and it will hurt to kneel on that again you need to constantly be pulling the folds out of your pant so it doesn’t hurt when you kneel. Also your pant will bunch up behind your knee and after a while that will also hurt. I use shorts so I don’t have to deal with any of that
Got em
Christ my knees are shot pluming 🙈 So So right, All…… take note and invest 👍
I wish I could wear these at work without being called names lol. But I’d rather get called names than have bad knees one day

It’s so Ridiculous to still hear things like this. There are lots of environments and people like this in my area as well. It’s not hardcore or manly to destroy your body for no good reason. It’s the same type of people who die early painful deaths from lung disease because they don’t want to wear dust masks and end up with lungs full of drywall dust. Stay safe and I hope some of those guys can come to their senses. (Usually that type of guy never will. The best thing you can do is lead by example).
Good idea.
The shorter ones are cheaper and still work relatively the same and dont slip all over. I own both but tend to wear the smaller ones more depending on the space I am working in.

Those look pretty sweet! My problem with knee pads is you get hot and sweat in summer, then they stink. So I’m hesitant to spend.

Spray bottle with half water half alcohol and a few drops of essential oils, works remarkably well on my stinky bikes shoes I use indoors, and according to a friend, I "sweat like a fat man". Truly, it's night and day and costs almost nothing.

@@pierrex3226 ok, thanks for that. It’s been 36hrs on an old smelly pair I was ready to throw out, and that actually worked really well. I’ve tried plenty of things and none that I’d say worked at all. Not sure if maybe as soon as I use them again for 10min it’ll be right back again, but sitting in my tool bag right now they’re essentially odour free.

@@ThisTall haha, happy to help! There are essential oils, forgot which ones, that are supposed to be especially good at preventing smelly bacteria from proliferating, in case you want to go all the way, I'm sure Google knows them.
I am a flooring contractor and have a pair and this was one of the best investments I ever made in my business.

Nailing base is for the new guy on the crew
Also learning to hinge at the hips and engage core when moving or lifting or shoveling, proper form, will save not just your back, but neck as well, learn how to deadlift properly, and hold that form in your movement. I know a lot of guys hang out on their ligaments, wrong, engage your whole core all the time, will wear you out for the first few weeks, but you will get used to it. Hang on your ligaments, in 20 years you will be bent like an old man
I've never worn workpants that didn't have integrated kneepads, it's a no brainer for me. Weird how it isn't common in the states.
Buy some Mascot brand or Blaklader brand pants with the knee pad pockets. Insert pads that you can find a along with them.
The best .
Me too
I want some with a roll ball on the neekap so I can push around
They should teach this at Trade Schools. 👍
54 and my knees grind like there's sand in them.
Ever try the roll around stoul I install caulk an paint with it so fast
Any advice for the lower back?
For sure
He's right, as an older carpenter please wear knee pads you will regret it if you don't.
Need to get some for my wife
Yup, after 6 knee surgeries they are worth it.
Wish I would’ve known this 20 years ago both knees are junked 37 yrs old sucks
