Lots of little tips and trips along the way - like removing the polish with Ceramic Gloss. Never would have thought of that! If we don’t take durability and application into concideration, what would be the main difference between a product like Ceramic Gloss or Quick Beads compared to DIY ceramic coating?
@diydetailofficial
Жыл бұрын
The only advantages of DIY Detail Ceramic Coating is durability and chemical resistance. DIY Detail Quick Beads and Ceramic Gloss will provide some chemical resistance, but not as much as the thicker DIY Detail Ceramic Coating. Beading will be equivalent on all 3. In an ideal situation, start with a base of DIY Detail Ceramic Coating, and add to that DIY Detail Ceramic Gloss or Quick Beads when you wash as maintenance.
How does it work with using ceramic gloss to spray and wipe off the polishing residue? With Polish still on the paint, I would think the Ceramic gloss doesnt have a chance to bond good if you're mixing it with polish and don't first remove the polish? Would Ceramic gloss last longer if I don't care about the time and I first remove the polish, then panel wipe, then Ceramic gloss wipe?
@diydetailofficial

In this instance, would a medium clay towel have done better? Always wanted to ask about the medium vs fine
@diydetailofficial
Жыл бұрын
The more aggressive your clay towel(or bar) the higher the risk of marring the paint (which usually requires polishing after). Sometimes you need more aggressive clay for certain jobs but you’ll likely need to polish to remove the marring, whereas our towel works great for most jobs and if you use it the way we teach (no pressure) it’s great for coated cars or regular details no problem

Come on guys, an hour? Sure if you have two guys and only work 1/3 of the vehicle. Did you think nobody would notice you skipped the passenger side and the back in addition to the roof? Hype the efficiency all you want, but telling a DIYer they can wash, prep, and polish their paint in an hour is a flat out lie. All you’re doing is setting expectations way too high and will make a person rush the job, make mistakes, and have terrible results. Not great for your brand.
