SAVAGE KICKING POWER | 12 Minute Routine • SAVAGE KICKING POWER |...
This is my Kicking Routine for Building Flexibility, Power, Strength, Technique, Timing, and Speed for the various type of Kung Fu Kicks. Many Martial Arts including Karate, Taekwondo, MMA, and Kung Fu share similar kicks! This routine is also geared toward INJURY PREVENTION! Notice how I switch from stretching, to straight kicks, to strengthening, to combat kicks, to meditation. Rotating back and forth keeps you healthy and allows you more long term and healthy success when it comes to kicking in the martial arts!
***It was 118 Degrees on this day!!! SO HOT!

This is the Kicking Routine I do just about Everyday! I usually do 2 or 3 sets of this routine. I titled this the SAVAGE KICKING POWER video because if you do this routine daily for 3 sets you will have SAVAGE KICKING POWER! Crucially important is to perform your ONE LEG SQUATS, HORSE STANCE, BOW STANCE, and STRAIGHT KICKS!!! Don't forget to meditate! ;) -Jake Mace

Savage kicking power?? I worked with students who just advanced from the beginners class who kick harder, faster, heavyer and whilst doing that they have better footwork and movement transitioning from one type of kick to another för example doing a right mid-roundhouse following with a left lowkick following up with a high rightfooted questionmark kick to the "head " and then following thar with a roundhouse with the same leg but now to the middle of the heavybag etc etc..doing this while the heavybag moves and swing so the student have to use footwork, head and bodymovement plus learn what kick WORKS best in what angle and as a "set up" or as a "follow up".. What you did where nowhere near "savage " or powerful! You are a scam artist... The Ones who defend you and what you do does not have the experience or knowledge to know any better...you should be ashamed..

most haters will never understand that martial arts is about the arts. the art of war is the art of not having to have war. yes, as a tkd practicioner, i could give some advice on footwork and as a kickboxer i can see lots of missing handwork (covering for counter) here. but then again: martial arts is not about following another mans path. but to get taught the technique and rules and then expand on it and find your way within it or a way to integrate it within your life. there is martial arts which is all about you and yourself and then there is competitive sports which is about comparison and betting/supplement/fitness/lifestyle industries. advertisement and bs. but also a co-evoltion adapted to a contemporary ruleset. and again, props for Jake for being the flying lure of trollcatching devices on youtube. success is measured in the numbers of haters

As a martial artist that has trained in Tae kwon do for 13 years Your kicks are very slow. you need to execute them with explosive energy not where you feel comfortable. idk if you were taking it easy but when you train you need to learn to let your kicks explode with speed thus generating more power. also pay attention to your hips that plays an important part as well as how you pivot your foot

Underated video. It is literally some of the best stretches anyone can do in any sport from young to aged. People who start doing these things at a young age lower risk of injury in many athletics. Speed kills. Bruce Lee and some of the best Muay Thai fighters in the world get there power from a quick rubber band like snap. Elasticity is an important skill in Martial Arts. "Be Shapeless, Like Water"

Jake Mace > Okay, just a few things. I am from Karate (Kyokushin and Goju ryu) and from Taekwondo. All of my Masters told me that ... "STRIKING IS LIKE CUTTING WITH A SWORD". Either you use your fists, your fingers, your elbows, your knees, your foot ... even your head; you must strike through the target ... not on the target. I can clearly see that you do not kick through the heavy bag. When you throw your side kick, Yoko Geri Kekomi; you kick on the bag ... not through the bag. The same is for your roundhouse kick, Mawashi Geri; you kick on the bag ... not through the bag.

EXCELLENT VIDEO! However, I have one question/observation. At min 3 of the video you display side kicks where you cross your back leg to generate additional power. In the early 1980s, in Europe, I was taught to kick this way as a competitive American Kickboxer Full Contact. When I came to America and learned a Chinese style, I was taught that crossing ANYthing was a no go. The X point is the point of failure the Chinese Art exploits. Can you explain your philosophy on your mixed Chinese style and kicking power? Thank you.

I personally don't see the "power" part in these kicks. For your round house kicks you should definitely turn your hips and pivot more in my opinion. Also I recommend kicking the bag without your shoes, also in my opinion hitting a bag without shoes is good for conditioning and you can see what your real max power is since shoes add weight and some cushion to your feet

@john constantin Of course the Muay Thai curriculum is totally against the use of the foot and even the instep because it is definitely a disaster getting checked by the knee or the elbow. It's almost given when executing a low kick, which is the staple of Muay Thai. However, the use of the ball of the foot for high kicks and the floating ribs, it can be a good idea. That's what you may see in many Karate styles. And it's a good way to ko. Well, in this case. Justvlike

I didn't hate the round kicks. Honestly a lot of people on here are just hating. The side kicks on the heavy bag were kinda eh though 😅

Ok jake, just a few things. As a few other people already mentioned your hip is not rotating far enough while you kick your roundhouse kicks. With nearly all of your kicks (except the roundhouse kicks) you turn your back towards your target. Thats telegraphing 101. A biginners mistake. Everything you do on the heavy bag looks terrible. Your side kicks are off. Your roundhouse kicks are a mess. And you don't seem to kick with power whatever kick you do.

While it can't be denied that Jake does have some great physical strengths. He has no actual combat ability. I mean nearly every kick he is doing he is starting off from a position of facing away from the bag/opponent. There is almost no power going into these kicks either. And he keeps dropping his lead hand and doesn't even bring his rear hand up to protect his face. Nor is he using his hips properly or chambering his kicks. As we would do in Sanshou/Sanda. Instead, he swings his leg as one mass similar to a Muay Thai kick but he isn't turning his whole body to "carry" the leg around to build up acceleration. So it's either a really bad Chinese Sanda style kick or a really bad Thai kick I can't say which. I genuinely don't understand why he doesn't stick to his strengths and skill base. He could have an extremely successful channel that just focused on healthy living/eating vegan whatever and physical strength training. Instead of pretending he knows how to fight when he clearly doesn't!
