    So eloquent, always dropping knowledge, talking about real issues, and forever interlacing elements of hip hop. Been loving his poetry for many, many years. Such a gift to the culture.

    I've met both Saul Williams and 'David J.' The latter is a London-based poet who, I think, stopped performing several years ago. When I met him, he was both self-deprecating and convinced he was too old for the performance poetry game. However, his delivery was spell-binding. I've got a CD he gave me, but he hasn't got much else out there - if you do a search on here, you'll find one or two examples of his work - e.g. 'this is what we do.' He doesn't make masterful use of the classics and ancient mythology like Saul Williams, but the juxtaposition of his down-to-earth cockney geezer with playful performance just makes the audience love him. Check him out.

    Why do all black poets have this same cadence?

  • @artaxdrowning4423

    @artaxdrowning4423

    3 жыл бұрын

    There is a similarity between black male voices and the general conversational similarities in everyday language....but I would say there is more similarity in cadence between slam poets than there is between any specific demographic. Im not sure what I am, but I'm not black and Saul Williams and Allen Ginsberg both influenced my delivery. As did Anne Sexton, noname (gypsy), Sierra DeMulder..... Maybe listen to more, but most ppl hate poetry, so maybe just cling to your dismissal.

    This sounds like s bunch of jibberish....Alot of random words and thoughts that can easily loose the average listeners..The cadance also sounds like every other poet that I've heard with the same exact style.. honestly im not impressed or maybe its just this particular performance.... Someone please guide me to his better poetry please..

    This has been stolen from me. The Offset Sun Tethered seals of Ten Summoners Tails. Hoist the anchor and set the sails. Carried through waves of Tronic time. Cherished songs of barley wine. Throw the scabbard at the worms swollen head. Sleeping close in mind and bed. Pulling strings to not be seen. Tossing hands and 5 magic beans. Up toward the sky they climb. Shimmering gleam of the sides of dimes. The gravity biting at their heals.

    Writing style analysis. User If I show you ramblings can you tell me who’s writings it most closely resembles in all your data? ChatGPT As an AI language model, I can analyze the text you provide me and compare it to the vast amount of data I have been trained on. Based on this, I can give you an idea of whose writing style your text most closely resembles. However, it is important to note that my analysis will be based solely on the textual features of the writing and not on any personal or biographical information about the author. Additionally, my analysis may not be 100% accurate, as writing style can be influenced by many factors, such as context, audience, and purpose. If you would like me to analyze your ramblings, please provide the text and I will do my best to provide an answer based on my training data. The use of internal rhyme and slant rhyme, as well as the emphasis on rhythm and cadence, is indicative of these genres. The themes of social justice, inequality, and oppression are also commonly found in spoken word poetry and rap. In terms of specific artists or writers, the style of the text shares similarities with the works of Tupac Shakur, Kendrick Lamar, and Saul Williams, among others. However, it is important to note that these are just examples and my analysis is not definitive
