This poem is phenomenal. His delivery is just so perfect.
He is my favorite poet & one of the things I love most about his work is being able to watch the same poem through different performances because you always get to hear different intonations, inflections and see what small words get changed. I get something new out of every performance. The first time I saw this piece it was at the height of the pandemic, and I was feeling very very low. So everything he said was very relatable. I even have the same sweatshirt that Rudy was wearing in that video. When I say, -and I know others can relate to this- that his work just has a way of reaching out a hand to you and helping you stay afloat, I mean it… Rudy if you are reading this, please never stop what you’re doing.

My God, My God he always has this uncanny ability to read my mind. He is truly a God sent to the poetry circuit.
This is one of my favourite poems by him, I just relate to it so much...💜
Bruh I lost it when he talked about destroying the things that helps him get up off the floor with the crickets analogy. This poem is so raw, made me feel really seen
His voice and his delivery makes each poem a million times better. ❤
