Toronto Poetry Slam

Toronto Poetry Slam

TORONTO POETRY SLAM is a twice-monthly spoken word competition, where the judges vote on each poem presented. TPS is produced by Toronto Poetry Project, a spoken word collective dedicated to promoting the art form in the GTA and beyond.

Our home venue is the Drake Hotel Underground, 1150 Queen St. W.

TPS is all about ideas, with one in particular: people sharing poetry for everyone to enjoy. You'll hear pure honesty poured onto the stage, wrapped in an entertaining performance style you won't see anywhere else.

Best of all, anyone can slam! Just arrive at the Drake to sign up for 730pm sharp. Judges from the audience score each poem between 0 and 10, basing their scores on both content n' performance. 12 poets are in the first round, then it's whittled down to 6, and the a final 3 poets battle it out in the final round. Winners get $80 and a bye into the semis. Poets can also get points towards making the Toronto Poetry Slam Team.

So many Poets are more concerned about their word play rather than what their words say.......

This sounds like s bunch of jibberish....Alot of random words and thoughts that can easily loose the average listeners..The cadance also sounds like every other poet that I've heard with the same exact style.. honestly im not impressed or maybe its just this particular performance.... Someone please guide me to his better poetry please..

This has been stolen from me. The Offset Sun Tethered seals of Ten Summoners Tails. Hoist the anchor and set the sails. Carried through waves of Tronic time. Cherished songs of barley wine. Throw the scabbard at the worms swollen head. Sleeping close in mind and bed. Pulling strings to not be seen. Tossing hands and 5 magic beans. Up toward the sky they climb. Shimmering gleam of the sides of dimes. The gravity biting at their heals.

Writing style analysis. User If I show you ramblings can you tell me who’s writings it most closely resembles in all your data? ChatGPT As an AI language model, I can analyze the text you provide me and compare it to the vast amount of data I have been trained on. Based on this, I can give you an idea of whose writing style your text most closely resembles. However, it is important to note that my analysis will be based solely on the textual features of the writing and not on any personal or biographical information about the author. Additionally, my analysis may not be 100% accurate, as writing style can be influenced by many factors, such as context, audience, and purpose. If you would like me to analyze your ramblings, please provide the text and I will do my best to provide an answer based on my training data. User Tumultuous buzzard’s over head circling me vultures Accumulate by the nature of scavengers nurturing the savages Clipped wings mid flight with verbal means, so they censor the dragons Callous tyrants of the order sspare the rod spoil the boy pure love two faced hate, same coincide cure chaos with pain and ache Does it take humiliation to become a humble soul with humility and wisdom, you can’t borrow experience, none of us inferior Something in the the WeiQi moves, ensnared me her spirits not near me, yet I fear even while I sleep I see her I delve into an enigma, a mystery a game of territory life and death, 361 ways to to make a mess. Find out it was all just a conversation in the end, it’s silent here so it appears but there’s a symphony in my head, an instrumental health issue I’ve gotten used to, as Igo kill ego with the online amigos no pinions for the to hold up and so the flock falls together like all those who come before us succumb under gales of the storm, feathers stripped, stool pidgin dozen she not numb enough get another that should number slumberland over doze aim at evil blasphemy Heresy another tragedy out of sight out of mind becoming a casualty casually in a sea of people spreading pestilence senseless death of peasants save change for the 1% who don’t give a shit Fervor is forever that’s why I’m to stubborn too shut up Another child taken farther from the father as he’s smothered under some other entity It’s not me, it’s not my family, in your head in your head what’s in there, zombie? The use of internal rhyme and slant rhyme, as well as the emphasis on rhythm and cadence, is indicative of these genres. The themes of social justice, inequality, and oppression are also commonly found in spoken word poetry and rap. In terms of specific artists or writers, the style of the text shares similarities with the works of Tupac Shakur, Kendrick Lamar, and Saul Williams, among others. However, it is important to note that these are just examples and my analysis is not definitive

I love Saul In studying philosophy I learned about how Aristotle coined the term natural slave. A person who has no intention of self-control in order to master himself. Which came first, the slave or the master? Scared money don't make none, thank you for helping me find strength.
