I enjoy how the relationship between Saul and David is depicted. Saul is truly a mad mess and David is humble in his interaction with him. A lesson I need to employ when dealing with some people in my life🙄

Every 1960's epic movie is good.

The actor who played Saul really brought the character to life. Out of all the movies I’ve seen depicting Saul, this is what I could imagine Saul being like.

That's why ppl gotta read the word for their self. These movies Don't teach u correctly or even show you the real ethical ppl. But anyway Samuel the Prophet after being upset with Saul. Ordered him to bring Agag the King of the Amalekites that Saul Spared. And Samuel killed him I believe he said to Agag " As your sword made woman childless, so shall your mother be childless"

This movie was fairly accurate. But did David really say " Saul...you have forced me to serve a foriegn God". I think he said " you have forced me to live in a foriegn land".

There's a very pervy undercurrent to this film.

Hi Totally great film. Close to the Biblical narrative and not Hollywoodised! Did remind me of King Lear, though, the madness of Saul. Maybe Shakespeare took his King Lear from this epic conflict. Shalom to us only in Christ Yeshua, David's son who will rule forever.

David cried for his friend Johnathan King Sauls son when the reporter came to David that Sauls army has been defeated and Saul is dead and so his sons are dead too and that is why David is crying saying ,”How the mighty has fallen and the sword that was left behind David went among the death soldiers looking for his friend but could not find him

I wasn't even born when this movie was made.There are some scenes that are either lacking or not present in the Bible.But nice movie for a 60's classic ...

Finally ve' seen the movie am searching for

the scene of David slaying Goliath was to quickly it should have been more dramatic than what it was but at least it wasn't made in Hollywood because it would have been not as good.

King Saul gets criticized a lot.. Remember guys king Saul was Israel’s first king.. I’m sure it was a steep learning curve. Also you can see a foreshadowing of Jesus in him.. when he tried to be king and priest 😣 Ask yourself .. if you was in his shoes, would you do better?? I like to look at the good king Saul did.. and now because of him, we can and are able to learn from this man of GOD ~God bless those of HIS will

Interesting point ,to me i find the people of israel loved king saul,i know the book of samuel tends to potray him as violent and unstable,only when david enters the narrative,i think theres more to him than what we have in samuel,there was a city our residence across by the jordan river,jabeshgilead ,saul saved the people from being mutilated by the ammonites,i read a account thats a fragment from the dead sea scrolls,which states that nahash the ammonite king was gouging out the eyes 🗡😱of the israelites,and they fled to jabesh ,which was across the jordan,🌊our bibles dont have that part they just have nahash threating the town that heel do what i mentioned earlier ,so we have alot thats missing 🏹🏹davids song of the bow which comes from lost source,potrays the effection for saul israel had as he says daughters of israel weep for saul who clothed 👕👚👔you with scarlet who put on ornaments of gold on youre clothing,🏅🌟

Sorry a accident there😅🙄yeah he was refering to jonathans skill as a climbmer ,and as a fighter🐐as in hebrew he calls him as skillful as a gazelle,in fact i heard in 1917 during ww1 a british soilder read about jonathans exploits at michmash,he and his batallion went there to capture a ottoman turk stronghold and he copied some of what he read about jonathan and won the battle😃👍👍pretty cool i hope you found this interesting👍😃♥️ my dad who i just lost 😔youse to read the poem david wrote to me,in a way it brought the words to feeling,david never forgot jonathans kindness to him,as he said youre love to me was wonderful passing the love of women♥️🏹its a well written poem from lost ancient source ,but its good the poem was perserved based on all the editing and translations the bible has been through,thanks👍🙂

Jesus is Lord God Almighty clothed in unsinful humanity and He is the author of "eternal" life to all who trust Him "alone" for salvation. Saving repentance is realizing that you are a sinner deserving of God's just punishment in Hell and turn (repent) from whatever you trusted in before, if indeed you trusted in anything; to trusting in the person and finished work of Christ alone for salvation.

HI It was about David and Saul, not David's reign. David honoured Saul with a Psalm which he read out at the end of the battle where Saul and his son Jonathan both died, and so he will always be remembered .

@@toosiyabrandt8676 yeah I guess you're right I just love King David! I love that the Creator anointed him and shows him to be the ruler over all Israel and Judah! King David is indeed the chosen one! And I love reading everything about him and researching things that are not even in Scripture and I found out a lot of things about this young man and why the Creator chose him out of all of his brothers and told Samuel to anoint him. I get chills even talkin about King David LOL

@@stushShulamite--Me too, I am the same. I love king David's poetry in the writings of the Psalms. I love them all, so beautifull and so poetic. A king and a poet of God. I love in church hearing the Psalms in songs, sometimes give me chills. Thank you King David of Israël. I love your poetry and your love of God expressed in the Psalms.

What was the point of showing David eating rabbit which is forbidden for Israel to eat? People please read the Bible for yourselves. Why not show the true people of Israel who are black, I could go on with other fairytales from this movie, but it may be fun to look for the lies of this movie 😂

Wallace and Gail are ok, just remember that we all have our free agency from Heavenly Father. The main reason why Jesus Christ was chosen to come to be our redeemer. We are free to believe what we decide.
