I had noticed you had not done this one...and I knew it would be very emotional dude ! This was Chance's project the whole way, and the guys were happy to let Sami & Chance have their special video. Chance wrote the script for the actors (friends of his I believe) and he directed the whole thing too ! Chance is also almost a professional level photographer too....he's so very talented & means so much to Home Free...we all love Chris, but his leaving and Chance joining was the best thing to ever happen to Home Free.

This is definitely one of Home Free's more touching heartfelt songs. The video is very sweet too. Chance's voice is perfect for this type of ballad song. These guys are my favorite a cappella group. It's all about the song & not showing off with unnecessary gimmicks.

And you’re so right about Chance’s voice being so perfect for storytelling. I would love to hear Chance sing some Gordon Lightfoot.

Next I hope that you will do “I Can’t Outrun You “- Chance lead, he directed the video, and it’s pure 5 part harmony. It’s hauntingly beautiful, and one of my HF favorites.

I said it on another video before, people overlook Chance because Austins, Tims and Robs voices are all shiny and sparkly and in your face, all in their own very different way. Chance however has a very conversational voice, or like a lounge singer. You actually need to dial the others down to get the full effect of his voice or they will distract you. This is actually a very great thing when he sings background or harmony, his voice blends really well

Lynn I met my wife 2 weeks into college at the Univ. of Miami, we both never dated anyone else while there and got engaged on Christmas Day 1981 and married Jun 19th,1982 the month after graduating....even though Liza passed away in Jan 1991, I never remarried & now too old to do so. It was love at 1st sight, and I have never regretted for one second, that Liza was the only woman I ever slept with

Wow your lucky if you rarely ever cry with music. I rarely ever make it through any song without crying especially gospel music. My aunt says I get that from my grandma. But I own every tear and try to embrace just the experience and beauty of each song. I agree about Chances and Avis voices. They leave me in a puddle every time. 😭

I understand what you mean. I have the same with Avi (my favorite solo singer) and Chance, (and also Rob). Someone can have such a beautiful voice to listen to, but with me it has to go beyond my ears. It must touch my heart and soul. And that's what happened to them. Music is emotion and they prove it.

This is one of those hauntingly beautiful covers. I love all of their voices. They’re all different, but you hit the nail on the head with saying Chance has a storytelling voice. I do find it very comforting because it is so rich, soft, and raspy at the same time. This song was perfect for his lead. The backing vocals were slayed by the other four! Adam with his subtle beatboxing. The slide guitar harmonies were amazing. It’s a big fav of mine!

The very end of the video always makes me cry. I thought that are engagement was long at 7 years. But I understand what she is saying because I felt the very same way. I love the way you described Chance's voice as a great story-telling voice. I haven't heard anyone else describe it that way, but you're absolutely right! Now that I think about it, most of the songs he leads on are story songs. I can make it through they whole song without crying, but then they put up that Chance -and-Sami story at the end and I tear up.

There's something about Chance's voice that reminds me of Avi's. I'm not musically knowledgeable enough to say it's tone or timbre, but -- maybe? Or maybe it's just the sense of warmth and comfort that both of them project when they sing. Either way, they both make me feel the same kind of that kind of way. Edit: what I just said makes zero sense as it's written, but it's hotter than hell's cellar outside and my brain is too crispy-fried to process words properly, so Imma just let it lay and hopefully you know what I mean.

I really enjoyed your reaction, Chance does a beautiful job with this song!!! I do have a word of advise I want to share with you regarding your personal relationship. I'm only sharing this so you don't make the same mistake my son made. He was engaged with his girlfriend and they lived together for almost 25 years. They never married either and looked at the marriage license as only a piece of paper as well. Unfortunately he passed away unexpectedly in January. At that time we found out that his wife in name only found out she had no legal rights. Everything fell on me being his legal heir. He did leave her his 401k and death insurance, unfortunately the dates on the notorized 401k did not match, making it null and void. So, now the check will come to me, which I don't want. So, I will be sending it to her. Also, she is never going to be able to tap into his social security account, which she could have done if they had married. Just wanted you to know this because of your own situation. If nothing else get married by a Justice of the Peace and have your dream wedding later. Believe me, it's not just a piece of paper!
