Home Free - Cover Me Up (Jason Isbell Cover) | Reaction

I've been saying I was going to get around to doing a reaction to Home Free's cover of Cover Me Up for a while now, and now that I have, it's definitely been worth the wait!

Great reaction! I agree Chance has a smooth silky voice that makes me drift. This is a beautiful song. It makes you want that romance in your life. And the engagement of Chance is so sweet. Thank you for your reaction!

I agree with you about the proposal in the PJ's being more romantic than his original plan. It was really sweet! I love Chance's voice very much. His lead in this song is perfect for his vocal style. Another thing I love about this cover is that the harmonies in parts of the song sounded like a steel guitar and their synchronicity with that was perfection! I hope you react to the other two Chance videos from his channel. Also, he has a playlist on Spotify called "Laid Back Cafe'" which is his personal selections. It's loads of chill music to sit and listen to when you're relaxing and maybe drinking coffee, or something else. He started it during the pandemic last year on Tuesdays, but once they start touring again, I'm sure he won't do it anymore as a livestream. Looking forward to some Christmas music (some people wait until July, but I'm always ready for some Home Free Christmas music). My first suggestion is a Home Free song. It's "Do You Hear What I Hear"! It's the best, and my favorite of theirs. It's arranged by Adam Rupp, so you can probably imagine how complex it may be. It's awesome!

Chance's is a mix of Tim's bass and Rob's smooth velvety voice. I could listen to him for hours. I turn the volume down low and play it on repeat after times and let him sing me to sleep some nights. Their singing always puts me in a good mood and relaxes me.

Jason Isbell is one of the very best singer-songwriters still in his prime today. Has done some major rockers as well as killer ballads like this. Props to Chance for pushing this to the group.

Really liked Chance singing this song and of course the background always does really good. But to see Chance propose to Sami was soooo sweet. Thank you for this reaction.

Chance has said that this was his and Sami's song when they first got together, so it was the perfect choice to announce their engagement. A lovely song, that really shows off Chance's beautiful voice. I can never make up my mind which of the singers in Home Free I like best, (it's like the songs, whichever one I heard last) but this was such a good choice for him. Thank you for reacting to it. Back soon after Chance joined Home Free, the first song he took the lead on was Die A Happy Man, when Tim and his now wife Jenika announced their engagement - that's another lovely one, that I can't see on your channel.

I love the slide guitar sound in this. I'm not sure I've heard it in any other Home Free songs.

I'm glad after he joined Home Free they give him leads in quite a few songs. As Tim stated in an interview to another reactor he was basically the group's bass guitar. And after Chance joined the two of them in the background are a force to be reckoned with.

When this song came out, is when I knew Chance was my favorite member of Home Free - it sealed the deal so to speak. He is so much like my cousins in South Georgia (Valdosta, Americus, Haihira, Cairo [pronounced Kay-ro]. and Moultrie) same demeanor, way he talks, walks, inflections, everything...he even looks a lot like my cousin Charles. I showed my cousin Harriet this very video, and she said it's like Charles can now sing too LOLOLOLOL. Congrats to Adam (Chance) & Sami, and may they have a long life together, PS I will stand by my thoughts....the best thing that ever happened to Home Free was Chris' decision to leave and to add (Adam) Chance.

Kevin, I am from that area ( Lakeland) and thought for sure that Chance was a So Ga boy. I have eventually forgiven him for being a Dolphin fan but hey, he's got that Southern boy swag and timbre.

Smokey, smooth, soulful -- what more ya want!?! So good! Here being a great example (possibility!) Adam and Time working together on the bass and bass percussion --- but, Adam may be the harmony with Tim on the blend ... huh, huh?

I've often wondered if some of the booming low notes weren't Adam. Once you've heard Adam's beat boxing solos and heard how low he goes it doesn't surprise me to know that's him. Man, this is a great song. Chance crushed it.
