@426Hemiroadrunner, if I knew how to fix cars, I would find one of these cars and get it all modified and turn it into a road beast. Scaring the competition with a Hellephant crate engine/transmission kit would bring a nice bit of satisfaction to my face, and there would be an even bigger smile if I had the right kind of aftermarket mufflers to be put under the car in a dual exhaust configuration.

I'd say buff the paint and clear coat it, make it a daily driver and leave the sleeper project for the Cordoba. If you do decide to fix it up and make it a daily, I might be able to find a new grille from a junkyard I know of and send it to you. I need to go there anyways for 70-71 Dart parts so snagging a grille for an Aspen/Volare shouldn't be too hard. Great video as always!

Thanks for treating this once proud sedan with the dignity it deserves. These vehicles served a generation of working and middle class people very well, and became trusted and loved cars after chryslers's recalls to address a few minor design flaws. I hope you will continue to bring this handsome car back to life as a daily driver. It deserves to be preserved, and seen by the public!
Clear coat it and turn it into a sleeper! It has the perfect patina on it (minus the few rust holes) and you rarely see these anymore, I would say less so then the Cordoba. Grilles are getting scarce though, they always broke, and a solid ones getting to be quite expensive as the one for my Volaré was. Looking forward to the next video
my first car was a 67 dart. it was the same shade of blue as this, but after 4 winters in Buffalo NY, it had all the same fading in the paint, I use to joke it was 12 shades of blue!
Aspens/Volares were EVERYWHERE when I was a teenager. The wagons were pretty sweet too.

In the early 1980s when I was about 7 years old, Aspens and Volares were among the most common cars on the road. I remember riding my bike through the grocery store parking lot and noticing two cars in the same row that looked the same except one said "Aspen" and the other said "Volare". When I got home I asked my father about it and he explained "badge engineering" to me.

@@MaximRecoil , my mom had one in the middle to late 1990s herself...the same year, as well as model, as the one that is in this video as well, I think, but it was maroon instead of blue, which is kind of fitting, as that was one of the colors of my high school, and middle school as well.
I had a 1979 Dodge Aspen with a very similar color... Good that you bring it back to life. I miss mine. Sold it many years ago
Dude your videos are amazing, I'm sure glad to see someone that's bringing these old mopars back to life...bless you and your family and keep up the great work. God bless!!!
I think you should you should make it a daily driver. Fix all the mechanical issues so that the Aspen can run with the pack. Clear coat the beautiful patina on the body, clean out the interior maybe some new carpeting. Maybe one of those Indian blanket seat covers would be awesome. Anais Flowmaster exhaust would be great with that 318 and then sell it here on this channel
Going to be a great video I can already tell keep up the great work Dylan videos are great man
My dad had a 77 aspen wagon same color it was a beater but since it was a beater he let me drive it when I was 11 around the hood. I miss that tank. Thanks for taking the time to make the video it brought back some good memories
So I just watched 30 minutes of a guy pressure washing an old car.... and it WAS satisfying! What a nice old car. I'd watch the hell out of more videos cleaning up this old car and making it roadworthy. I'm rooting for the old girl!
Hello Dylan your videos has inspired me to do great things to old vehicle's, also to do something fun and not just be wasting time on things that aren't good, for my age 13 years old you really haved teached me to have fun with vehicles especially old cars and trucks. And you're video's are great ways of teaching and having fun with vehicles, like using what you have, but keep making more videos of old Mopar and other old cars and thanks
I always enjoy your videos Dylan. I like the everyman cars like this one.👍👍☮️
You brought the value up atleast 17 dollars. Nice work. It looks much better. Like visual asmr.
So glad you power washed it! Great results.
I had a few of these in the 80s all with slant sixes. Loved 'em!! A nothing special car that was tough as nails. My favorite was a 1980 4 door with a four speed overdrive, gas mileage in the high 20's !!
Clearcoat the Aspen and clean the insite. This will be a head turning daily 👍
@RadialSkid

Why clearcoat it? If you're keeping the current look it isn't necessary, and if you're going to the trouble of clearcoating, you might as well go ahead and paint it.
@tclott316
4 жыл бұрын
RadialSkid what? “Going through the trouble of clearing it”, by that you mean, washing it, scruffing it up with a wet scotch brite then shooting satin clear? Why would you go through the trouble of sanding it all down, doing all the body work, rust repair, dent pulling etc, priming and scuffing it multiple times then paint, wet sand, and polish? It’s not worth all that, and it never will be. Not too mention, it looks 100% cooler this way.

Better import 3 more parts cars for it! Aside from the mechanical stuff that's readily available, there is very little aftermarket support for these cars in terms of replacement body panels and structural items, and what is available costs a fortune.
