Unfortunately, there was no part two because the engine decided to have low compression in two cylinders right after I filmed this. Don’t worry! Daisy will come back. I have a lot of parts lined up ready to go in the near future. Thank you for watching!

I love seeing older cars from a simpler time being given a second chance! BTW, you and your viewers might be interested in a small YT channel up in Alberta, Canada, called coldwarmotors. He rescues old cars, trucks even bikes from junk yards and farmer's fields. Mostly late 40's to 50's, into the 60's cars from all brands but mostly Mopar. Does it all with virtually no money.

I just bought a 66 Ford galaxie 2 door with a 390 big block with a floor 4 speed for 2000. It runs and drives, but The major issues at the moment is the 4b carb, and the person that had it was going to weld in new floor pans, and never did it, so I’ve got brand new pans that I need to weld in. If anyone out there is looking for a cheap car with a reliable stock engine, look for the slant six! Those things will run and run and run. I've own my dart for 3 years now and have put maybe 25,000 miles on it, driving to and from work, and commuting from college to home on occasions. I once put 400 miles on the car in two days! The car took it like a champ and had no issues! I love the old darts!!!

Thanks for sharing this man, there are so many people that do not realize that they can afford a classic if they put a bit of effort into the search. I know this from experience, I found a 1964 Buick Wildcat 4Door hardtop. I got a great deal on it and later while investigating the vin and looking at/ replacing worn out parts discovered it was an old Interceptor. Sadly not getting it onto the road this year (overhauling the front end, brakes, transmission & heating system) but definitely gonna have the old girl back on the road next year. Looking forward to taking her out to a few shows/ races (10 second car). She’s got a whopping 1000hp with 600ft/lbs of torque (naturally aspirated), which isn’t bad for 19 feet of old Detroit steel 😎👍 Please keep doing these videos to inform those interested in the old classics that they can afford these old cars and can maintain them. The more people that know, the better. Your channel is definitely one of the reasons that these beautiful old cars are still on the road 😎👍

Dylan, my first car was a 70' Dodge Dart, that I paid $50.00 for. Four door, the almighty slant six! I drove that car damn near to death, only selling it to buy my dad's 70' Dodge D100, 318 long bed! This is a great video, to help people get thier first " hotrod"!!! I was in the Army throughout the 80's, and was a mechanic. I worked on countless M880s, FuryIIIs, Satellites, and so on. I was already a Mopar guy, so I knew my way around the slant six, 318s, 440s as well. I LOVED my job!!!

I love it, Love what ya brung! I love when you kids get into classics, No disrespect, It's just that I'm 50 and everyone under 45 is a kid to me. I've been slowly getting the 20 something kids at work into classic cars. I love your realistic view to "don't have to be the prettiest car at the show" attitude. So far I've shown 2 kids at work into the light of classic cars, One is a 24 year old girl who bought a 74 4 door Nova with the Inline 6 and a 22 year old guy that bought a 78 Dodge Aspen with a 318. Neither one are anything special but they both clean to start with with minimal things needed to be daily driven and presentable at a cruise-in or local car show. They both had a good body but needed painted but here in Arizona anything older than 4 or 5 years old needs a paint job and paints cheap when you have someone who can spray it and better yet someone to teach how to do minimal body work and lay down paint. Personally I have a 75 Pontiac Grand prix, I only paid $3200 for it and all it needed was a good cleaning, fluids and gaskets changed, repainted the engine, intake and valve colors and the Landau top was starting to crack from dry rot so I just pulled it off body worked the seam and painted where the top was with some of that ready to spray Duplicolor paint from the parts store, cost me $70 for the paint, other than that it was just a cut and buff on the paint, there was no other damage or rust on the car other than in the trunk and I just cleaned that up and rattle canned some truck bed liner in it and then I threw some rims on it, I have less than 4k in it total.

Dylan my Dart was a 72 metalic grey blue swinger with a white vinyl top, that I bought for $50 from the neighbor across the street, he had two and I think mine was to have a been a parts car but looked much better and was a six to the kept 318. It ran very rough and on my way to an evening auto class it died, my best bud a ford mechanic came and had with him a new points and condenser and put in the condesnser and it ran and to help the fouled plugs we loosened the spark plug wire ends, a shop trick , that and some mixture adjustments that night and next it was running much better. I had to replace the muffler after a warning and a retread tire came apart but I did enjoy it and wish I could get another because it was a reliable vehicle. Something to watch out for up north was the torsion bar mount rusted through, luckily it was $75 to weld a fabricated piece $125 for both sides.

With my 84 Fifth Avenue, it took me 9 years to find my car. Now last year I looked at a couple Diplomats and they were total basket cases. One was an 87 and it ran and drove but, it had major brake problems along with a torsion about ready to break. The air conditioning worked well and interior needed a major clean up but, the guy wanted way more than I had in a budget. Then I looked at an 85 and it needed torsion bars bad. Again the person selling it wanted way too much. Now moving back 9 years ago I almost won a bid on a clean 85 Gran Fury and it was owned by an elderly woman. 318 with a 2 barrel Carter. Blue/grey interior and exterior. All hub caps was there. Then moving now 9 years after that I found my car for $500 and traded a S10 pickup for it. My dad always told me that if you want a vehicle don't settle for the first thing that comes up, keep looking for it and you'll find that special car or truck. That's what I did, I looked for 9 years for the right one and I've found and I have it in my possession.

very cool , i had a 75 ford ltd as a first car, i fixed it mechanically, paint was crap n faded, but ran mostly decent. a good idea instead of rims- hubcaps. i had blea factory hubcaps, a neighbor had a gm wagon he was junking, and he gave me them for free. turns out the ford lugs slipped into the fake lugs on the caps, the only thing diff was i had to change the tire valve opening on the hubcaps, took em apart, cleaned the chrome bits, painted the hubcaps black over stock grey - they looked like a set of custom rims , when i was done. $2 for paint, $3 for tape , hubcaps - free , not too bad on the cheep as a high schooler

Hahaha...you must be catching what I have. Those Holley 1920's are essentially non-rebuildable because of the metering block passages which can't be cleaned. I switch all my slants over to Carter BBS carbs, which are a direct swap for the Holley and are easily rebuildable. On the temp gauge, pay close attention to what Chrysler calls the "center bar". On '67 through early '69 Dart gauges, the center bar is skewed to the right so that at 185 degrees the needle is straight up. Apparently many people felt the engine was running too hot even when it wasn't, so in January 1969 they released a revised temperature gauge for the Dart(and Valiant) that repositioned the center bar leftward and showed 185 degrees as the needle to the left of center. The radiator still may need attention. The exhaust manifold is later, because it has the round counterweight. 3-speed wipers, that's nice. The "Charger 225" sticker is original and does NOT mean the engine is from a Charger, just like the Super 225 sticker on my Valiant does not mean it's a Super Six. It was just marketing lingo. Good luck!

As usual Great Video... back in 1970 when I was 16, i worked at one of the relic full service filling stations for 2.50 an hour. And I learned a lot form the old time mechanics... my dad helped me build up a 1962 Impala 4 door... she was not much off the line but once that hunk of metal got rolling... watch out... keep up the great work Dylan... as stated before the Bible Verses are sure fine.

There are a lot of ways to make an old car or truck over without a bank loan to fund it. sweat equity has a lot to do with it, and a vehicle you can still get parts (New Or Used) at a reasonable price. An awful lot of what you said was Pure Truth. I just watched a man on another channel pull a 1964 Cadillac out of a shed, and take it to a car show two days later, running and driving after it sat for 24 years. Good Job Dylan!!

Dylan, another great video! I think this is one of your best, primarily because of the instructional aspect of it but also because, as a computer hobbyist, the "budget build" is always something of great interest to me, and this neatly parallels my experiences with getting a middlin' used PC and beefing it up for as little as possible to make a more powerful rig with. There's dozens of channels for that, but very few "car rebuild on a budget" channels, and the more videos like that I think, the better. Not everyone is a PC guy or whatever, so thanks for doing this. Your approach on FB Marketplace? Yeah that's how computer hustlers (hello, Tech YES City!) roll, too - search every day, and you'll find that kick-ass video card or bare bones system to start a budget rig with. Like I said, great parallelism.

These non-flashy, under-loved older cars are my favorites for restorations. So many people fixing up and driving around vintage Chargers and Mustangs. Pull up in a reasonably-restored '69 Dart or a '67 Cougar or a '72 Ranchero, and everyone will enjoy the unique vintage without the car necessarily screaming "please steal me"!

Yea, let’s hear it for More Door Mopars says this 62 year old Gearhead Geezer!!! All the best with your build.' My Ride: 73 Plymouth Valiant 4 Dr. (more doors), 318, 904 transmission. Nothing could be more stealth. It is a mustardy/baby poop yellow and has the 3" chunk rubber bumpers additions. It looks like it is right out of central casting for an Adam - 12 unmarked detective's car. Mods: KYB front shocks, torsion bars turned down 4 turns. E- body front swaybar adaptation (got it for free) and B - body rear sway bar adaptation with 1" lowering blocks. 1980’s Cop car wheels with 215-60-15” Sumitumo HTR tires. It handles like a go-kart! The engine has an Edelbrock Performer (clone cam, Intake and 4 bbl. carb.). The heads are ‘86 swirl port that were ported by myself. I’ve got far less than $2,000 in the whole car. It is only 2.76 rear gears that hamper the car. But..., second gear, above 40 MPH and it flat out flies.

I just bought the car of my dreams for $3,500. Its a complete 1957 Chrysler sedan with the 354 Poly V8. The only problem is that it hasn't been driven since about 1983. It also has serious rust problems in the rear driver side rocker and wheel well and some holes in the trunk. However I am being optimistic that I will have it running by spring, drive it for a year or two, and eventually do a complete resto. Wish me luck Dylan McCool!!

I LOVE your cool, calm presentation which is so charming and compelling and I equally love your dog! Thanks buddy for taking the time to create and sustain your channel. I couldn't wait to comment, subcribe, and rang that notification bell. I really look forward to seeing what else you have here. Oh, BTW, your advice on being respectful on purchasing a vehicle is GOLDEN. If you offend a seller, you're probably not going to get your sought after vehicle at any price. Talk nice, make friends and show some respect! I just bought a 1988 Volvo 240 with 50K original miles for $500 because the seller said he remembered me and how respectful of him and his car I was, and sought me out years later to buy his car. He had lots of other guys low balling him and being nasty and rude but he was intent on having me own the car based on the way I treated him. Back then, he and I were talking about $2500 for the car so I was SHOCKED to get his text years later telling me to come get his "baby." I keep him frequently involved in my progress and he feels like he's part of my revitalization of that car. WIN-WIN. Good advice brother.

My Late Father bought that same exact model and color combo brand new in 1967. Dodge Dart 270 with a 225 slant six and torque flight transmission. we had that car for 6 years and over 200k miles. I can't remember how many times I layed under that car changing oil and filters, Learning how to replace brake shoes, changing antifreeze. that car took us on a month long vacation in the summer of 67 and every summer vacation until 1971 when dad gave it to my older sister to drive to college. that was the first Dodge Dart owned by my family I had 2, 67 Dodge Darts one GT 273 four barrel and one GTS one of 467 with the 383 four barrel. My older sister had a 76 Dart 270 with the 225 Slant six she bought new in 1976 and My mother had a 1974, 270 with the 225 Slant six they all went to the salvage yards all wore completely out with over 250 k miles on them.
