The strength these men must have. This is a great closeup with amazing camerawork, I was exhausted just watching this man and I thought, oh my, he has to do this three more times!! God Bless them

I've watched a ferrier at work for many years here in the UK and in Europe and I must say your experience shows through a1000% . It was a pleasure to watch a skilled ferrier at work , the dogs around came around for tip bits too 😂

Hoof restorations are fantastic and all, but I'd love to see a video compilation of dogs going up to steal hoof clippings during sessions 😂

It is funny however hard brittle clippings are not safe for them, as it can chip their teeth and get stuck in them but it’s okay to give it to dogs once in a while.

(Horse hoof RESTORATION //satisfying// HORSE HOOF TRIMMING) trust me watch all the way through.
Thank you for such a close up video! Really illustrates the skill, strength, the detail as well as the care you show for the animal. And Pride in your work!! Well done.
The shots where your palms are on the hoof shows how really huge the hoof is! Massive! Great camerawork too 👌 Btw why is farriering such so satisfying to watch even to people who have nothing to do with horses (like me)?!😃

You did a great job! It’s amazing you could find and clean the frog so well. Also great job trimming. What a nice job. Nice horse as well.
Jake, that horse hoof is as big as my head! But such great work! I bet the horse feels better! Fantastic job restoring this one!

Fantastic camera work. I really love the close up while the work being done makes me feel like standing right there watching you work. The exit music along with the videography at the end was like art, created emotion and beauty...wow!
I truly wish that some of these farriers would feel like doing a little teaching as they work. I would so love to know what they are attempting to do and why. I can’t imagine trying to differentiate between living and dead tissue. However do they keep from accidentally hurting the horse. This man seems to work more carefully and slowly. Amazing and skillful craftsmen!
They say "fit as a butcher's dog", but what about "as happy as the farrier's dog" ? They get frog treats all the time.

Can you tell me why to feed a piece of the frog to a dog? I don't know anything about farriery, but this shocked me the most 😱
@melanisticmandalorian8909
2 жыл бұрын
@@FranCecy001 The frog gets cut off and thrown away, if you watch most farrier videos, dogs will come by and sneak it off as snacks. The frog is the consistency of soft leather. It's main job is to be pressed down when the horse stands on the hoof, and it assists in pumping the horse's blood back to the heart. The extra frog is cut off because it is over grown and having extra layers of unnecessary frog will give space for bacteria to grow and for the horse to catch thrush. I hope it kinda answers all sorts of questions.

Glad these horses are gettin taken care of, doing good work brotha💪🏾
Great equine podiatry & first class camera work.👍
I find it satisfying what a Farrier work accomplishes. It's much work replacing one shoe as a opposed to all four. Good job Sir!
I’m guessing this was an overdue pedicure! Amazing work, fab video (any chance of a little commentary, for specific shaping or trim or anything unusual you come across, love the fact there is no unnecessary chatter or music)
Best close up yet and I’ve been watching for over a wk at least 3-4 a night. Beautiful horse
Everytime I watch one of these videos Im like "this looks mighty painful" but to the horse this feeling real good like a massage 😭
Just did that. I love watching your videos and who would of thought that a horse's hoof had so many layers on it lol it's like trying to trim a onion.
Good job 👍 they were definitely needing done
Great job and great video!!! Wonderful close up 👍🏽 Thanks and congratulations!!
Класс, всё детально и доступно, настолько близкой съёмки во время работы с копытами я ещё не видел. Супер.
I can honestly say that with all the different farriers that I watch, I learn something new. I've never seen anyone do clenching like this. Very intresting.😁
Another good job, on a big ol foot, on a big ol horse, who didn't look like his hooves had been cleaned since his last shoeing, which was a long time ago, and it also looks like he spends a great deal of time in a dirty stall. 🐎👍🇺🇸
@ElysetheEevee

It looks like he spends time outside to me. There wasn't much straw or stable debris that I could tell. It just looked like clay and soil from outside.
Horses have the biggest eyes in the world (for mammals) and I find them stunning, I could spend hours just looking into the eyes of a horse, you can almost see the feelings of the animal within them, mesmerizing ❤
Well done! I don’t think I’ve seen such amazing close ups before - can’t help but wonder how you don’t accidentally smack your camera when filming so close! I’m also amazed at how close your hammer can be to your fingers, without smacking fingers by accident.
Beautiful work by a master farrier.
I enjoyed your videos. Great job!
One of my favorites. The up close was a different perspective! Enjoyed
God, no wonder the dogs hang around when this big boy gets a hoof trim. His hooves are the size of plates and they're ready to eat XD
You know there good when they costom forge a shoe to perfectly fit the horse rather then going out and buying one that might be to big, small or the wrong shape. Keep up the good work👍
I’m new to horse mani-pedi channels. I like that we got a quick look at the horse 🐴 and your camera is closer to get a close view to see what you are doing. Good closeups of making the shoe and putting it on. I have never owned a horse, so I don’t know about caring for them, but they are beautiful and so well-behaved during this process, as if they are intelligent enough to know it’s all for their own good!
One of my favorite videos of yours. Just wish when you get a good, clean clipping like that you would hold it up so we can see how much came off. Especially when you have to do it twice

Outstanding. A master class all round.
❤ the extreme close up is awesome!
I am not a horse person, but i find this video deeply fascinating. And, in my native Swedish tongue, the pliers mainly used here is called a ”hovtång”, or ”hoof pliers”, and i have never ever wondered why. But now i know.
Immensely satisfying 😌
Kudos to your camera person. I have several favorite farriers and yours is the best imho😊. Those hooves are humongous! Love the Shires😍. Your work is impeccable and fascinating to watch.🇺🇸🇬🇧♥️🐎

It really isn't that soft! Its extrememly tough when healthy, thats why farriers need such sharp tools to do their hooves.
Fantastic vid ! Love the camera angles...lots of bruising on that hoof...great job !!!
I love horses they are so pretty and cute💕
Great job 👏
Huge feet on huge horses! Looks like this guy does a fair bit of roadwork, according to how worn his shoes were. Great job! Liked and subbed. Is he a Shire?
the dog going to town on the hoof trimmings really adds to the x factor of this video

Yes this is the good stuff
Qué buenos planos! Buen video.
Great photography on this video! Could see the details close up.
I use those huge nails when I make Leadlights. They are a bit hard to source as everyone only seems to stock the small nails.
I saw a farrier who had a big magnet on the foot of his stand to collect nails, worked well
Great job!!! Was this horse recovering from an injury ?
Such a gentle giant beautiful skill
That horse 🐴 had beautiful feet!
Nothing beats a comfortable fitting shoe
Ginormous!!!! Even when you took down at least half of it :) How long was this horse not shoed? Really, I enjoyed how you just kept cutting and scarping! Fabulous job!
I have watched a few of these now and I still wonder: How do you make sure - after roughly clipping the toe edge - that you don't file the hoof at an angle (e.g. left side filed shorter than the right side of the hoof), which would lead to wrong joint position afterwards? Is it automatically even, when the horse rests its leg on the stand?
Big foots horse??? 🤔😁 amazing work 👏👏👏 it's soothing too watch
Maravilla de profesional un artista y con un detalle de cómo trabaja que me gusta y me hace feliz verlo
I agree these are awesome
5:43 is a great angle to see the concavity of the hoof.
Good job !!
I really enjoy your videos, you always do a great job What's the name of the song you used at the end though?
Hi Jake. I was wondering looking at the places where the old nails have been pulled out if there is ever a situation where there isn’t the free space to put new nails in? If that does happen, what do you do then?
@ninabeena6092

He cuts off old hoof and new grows in so essentially he’s cutting off the old holes and there’s new hoof for the nails to stick into so it’s not really a problem.

The hoof wall grows downwards, so new nails go in higher than old holes
My dogs LOVE farrier day!
Nice job. Have never seen a dinner plate get shod!
Nice trim
Absolutely fantastic...... 🏇🏇
A really cool job lovely 😊
Very cool to watch. But I have some questions 1 how long after you reshoe a horse do you have to do it again and 2 I have seen other farriers shoe horses with out flattening the toe end what's the reason for the flattened toe
I rode a Shire, his hoofs were big like dinner plates
Interesting, the first time I am seeing this.
DANG, that's a big hoof!! Until I saw this video I didn't know how soft that white rubbery stuff is that you cut out, sorry don't know what you call it 😩Another great shoeing video, thanks, Jake! Love from Canada 🇨🇦
