Hey I had a question, does the excess length at the sides of the heel of the shoe make is more possible to catch and be pulled off? I've heard this is normal if you trying to widen the heel? Nice work, very satisfying video, thanks for uploading :)

Were the little rivets at the back of the horseshoe so that when the mood strikes the horse could do a little soft shoe routine. Or perhaps even a little tap dancing.

Yes, it does need training. A lot of people nowadays start when a foal is a couple of days old by gently getting them used to having their legs touched and the hoofs picked up. The horse needs to learn to balance on 3 legs while you hold the 4th one up to clean the underside. That is done every day so dirt and little stones are removed and don't cause the hoofs any harm. It's also good preparation for when the farrier comes for the first time. Good owners will also get the foal used to the noises that go along with the farriers work like the clicking of the pliers and stuff like that. At first a young horse is often a bit worried about the farrier but with time and a nice and patient farrier they learn the it doesn't hurt and then they relax 😊
