I love this game. The scale some people build on is mind bending! Almost 200 hours and I've only just begun using math to plan my builds, lol. Lazy brain is real.

I know right, I don't know how many times I've sat down at my pc with a pencil and pad determined to plan and calculate my next phase only to find myself 30 mins later just zooming around the map in a tractor tinkering just building random shit :)

Meanwhile, my factory looks like someone dumped a bowl of spaghetti and meatballs on the floor...

the last time i saw that much iron in one Place was when i created a gargantuant iron plate bus in factorio.

Looks really well done, but concerned wether or not WHS was followed correctly.. but I guess there is always room for improvement...

I have to agree with Mr Erectus here. Dan P should ensure the health and Safety of his workers and not put the health and Safety of others at risk. To do this you must provide a safe work environment and monitor the health of the workers, both mental and physical, and general conditions of the workplace. Together I am sure we can guide Dan P onto the path of safety where all of his workers return home to their families.

This is no common techpriest, a proper archmagos this is.

This has convinced me to centralize my raw materials storage. I'm going to make one big multi-story building. First two floors will be for iron, steel, coal, sulfur, solid stuff that needs to be belted in. Next 1 or 2 levels for liquid storage (water, oil, fuel, etc), stuff that needs to be piped in. Next level for trucks and the loaders/un-loaders for them. Next level for trains and THEIR loaders/un-loaders. Basically, add new floors each time a new mode of transportation is unlocked.

I might be too late, but I recommend having the top floor be pipes so you can use gravity instead of pumps.

Proud to say I just finished my 30000 iron ingots factory

Currently working on a similar project in the dune desert. Ideally it will be able to process 30k+ ingots/minute. Pure nodes add a complication since they make 780 lines instead of nicer numbers like 600 but luckily I can process all the pure nodes on one floor. The building will also house all other basic resource refinement and then I'll belt materials to other factories focused on individual items as needed. The big water extractors mod makes it about 50000x easier though since I can get up to 5 pipes from one machine.

My only nice production is my coal plant that i took from a tutorial. Except it ended up a little off from the vide. And so far it only powers itself havent made the stuff im putting there yet

he literally became the iron maiden, its genius

In my, Mine The World, playthrough, I had all the nodes in the world for Iron, through refineries. Processing 35000 ore, doubling in the refinery was 70k Ingot's. On low settings, my computer ran about 20fps in that area. And needed to make another 100 refineries(Mk2's[Modded]) for copper. I gave up at that point, too much for the engine.

@@SigmaSixSoftware It was probably a bit of scenery dust. Rebars are rendered dark gray with sparks around. Pretty good effect though!

You can deal with the station flow problem by adding an industrial storage buffer, and connecting TWO belts between the storage and the station. That way, the pause time is offset by 2x780 belts!

That's a great idea for throughput on trains. Thanks. We might try that for the copper trains. Unfortunately our Iron train stations are already being double fed ( 24 780lines going into 12 stations ) I think we will need another train station. We currently have 2 drop off train stations and 1 pickup station. We will use another pickup station and have 3 trains, 2 trains for two separate pairs and 1 to alternate between the two.

@@kiligir yep, but the issue was, since this system was already feeding at max on 2x 780 lines into the train stations and when the train pulls up, you can no longer load or unload . So it wouldnt matter how many storage containers you put in the system, the lines still stop, and dont catch back up, because they were already double feeding at max... but yes, we have fixed it now with another train station, I show it briefly in the copper ingot vid I recently did 😁

You can deal with the trains stopping animation not loading by having the belt go into an industrial storage container (backup) then have both lines of 780 com out of the storage container and into the train station (double speed)

I was wondering if I should do the pure recipe in my first play through. Now I know I don't wanna :D if you get so much Iron from a single, and comparatively crappy, area, then I will just gather from entire map and smelt it the easy way. Alloy, probably alloy...

We're using the alternate recipe for steel (which uses iron ingots instead of iron ore) and it's 33% more efficient 👌

Such a big building that made greendland area become so small..

How you flying around? I'm on normal survival. I've never needed that much iron.

First playthrough was 100% vanilla... using a few mods this time around... will go vanilla again for sure though, its a whole different game

What pc specs have you got? My ryzen 3600 and 5700xt lag when I get close to this many moving parts! My 3440 x 1440 resolution probably doesn't help!

My current production is 22.500 copper, 22.500 Iron, 33.750 Steel, and 6750 Caterium ingots a minute. I could make more but if this isn't enough then nothing will be enough.

20,000 ingots!!! Now what?

Nice job 👍 I m just asking myself why the footprint of the main factory is so small. To make something with the 20k iron ingots you need a really big space. A second point is: there is not enough other mins on the map to use the iron, especially Quarz and caterium. A big portion of the iron will get directly into the sink. I prefer to set a target from the top. (Wanna make 1 Turbo Motor per second. ). And extrapolate from there. It’s a freaking lot of work too but at last less waste of time doing something you will not need later. (Just as hint. For 1 turbo motor per second I just need 680 iron ingots per minute. And 7200 ingots copper, for witch you need iron ore. ).

Mainly just a bit of area actions, but only the host* can use it, even then, you can't use it for belts, pipes, power lines and trains, so you gotta do it all! But yeah, its dodgey in multiplayer

Factories of engineers:

8:13 I think they arent needed all, there is a trick where you pump only one line to hight and connect all, seems to do it with full flow for each line

That's a glitch, you just need one water source at the desired level and all the water in the same grid will be capable of reaching that height without pumps. I wouldn't rely much on it as they may solve the issue in future versions...

No mod used for that, just googled the pic and used paint gun untill it looks somewhat like it. We also used some pipe stuff and painted those on the flags 👍

No there is no financial aspect. Only optimizing and upgrading. And a tiny bit of survival.
