I was thinking about why I can get choked up over deaths of characters in anime, while I've never really had much emotion for character deaths in live-action films and series. I think the reason is with live-action, the actors are people that exist outside of the story, so when you see them 'die' on screen it doesn't hit you because that person still exists. In anime, the character is really gone - they won't be drawn again.

She also took the time to shoot two random guards talking to Gabi that didn’t even notice Sasha was there. Guards who could have forced Gabi out to safety. Right after the convoy of soldiers behind them was already destroyed and the other scouts were gone. Sasha’s cold-blooded sharp shooting was what ultimately got her killed.

Reactors confused about Eren's laugh after hearing Sasha's last words.. what Eren felt was both frustration and sweet memories of Sasha's love for meat that even in her final moments she was thinking about meat.. her love for meat.. like a pure innocent child who didn't deserved to die.. but she died and that is the frustration. Anyone can smile after hearing that and Eren smiled for Sasha. ----------------------------------------- Even manga readers wished for Sasha not to die in Anime. But too bad.. -------------------------------------------- There is this mixed feeling that in a show like Attack on Titan, an important character died by a bullet and not got devoured by titan. ---------------------------------------------- More deaths coming... Be prepared and all thats left are important characters that are running the show now.

It hurts but at least she didn't get crushed or got eaten by titans, she got free from this cruel world(just like captain Erwin) before it went downhill, and she won't suffer emotionally and physically like the rest of them would later on TT___TT It's also symbolic how there won't be anymore joking around. And this will be used as catalyst for Gabi's character growth later on

I'm really sad abt Sasha...all of us are as we have been watching her since season 1 but yeah we also can't blame Gabi coz she has her own reasons. It's just a never ending cycle of revenge and when Eren showed up out of nowhere we all knew sht gonna happen. Anyways when sasha died my first thought was "atleast she did not get eaten by a titan" i don't know how will we able to cope if that's what have happened with Sasha.

I literally cried when Connery gave word that she died

I honestly prefer her to die this way rather than alone in the mouth of a titan and scared. In this scene she was older, she wasn't afraid and she was thinking about food (her true love T-T) surrounded with her friends, Isayama really blessed her in that aspect... T~T

I can’t watch these people celebrating and advocating for Gabi to die. It makes me sick. She’s a brainwashed, CHILD soldier whose country and people were attacked. What y’all should be feeling is pity for BOTH parties! This is what war does to people and the only thing that comes from war is more pain, hatred and suffering. Especially for children like Gabi who were raised to think they don’t have any choice but to fight until they die or eventually become human meat shields for their oppressors. It’s sad no matter which way you look at it.

Legit think this moment broke Eren. That hysterical laughter was a mental breakdown. I don’t know if he had seen every single second of the future, but it’s clear that he hoped none of his friends would die. Sasha dying snapped him.

So many people can't see subtext it's almost scary. I mean, the whole mood of the scene when Eren laughs (music, lighting, angles, his eyes, everyone's faces etc) is clearly showing that he is actually freaking out, and not having fun.

@@naira5878 He can simply see the future. If he changes the future his desired future might change. So sashas death was most likely nesissary in order to bring about his desired future which is *spoiler for last chapter* to start the rumbling and make eldians look like the heros.
