You want to learn survival and Evasion tactics then I suggest going thru a nasty divorce. You'll learn how to escape subpoenas for financial information, evade your spouses family members while divesting yourself of attachable assets and converting same into cash. Finally, you'll learn that a Passport is your ally.

The absolute worst contract any man can enter into.....marriage.
Remember: The escaping can progress as fast as body condition and terrain allow it. In contrast, the searching parties must go slowly in order to stay vigilant and maximise terrain coverage. Thus, try to cross as much distance in the first hours as possible. Then, switch to erratic patterns to further confuse the enemy.
People take this shit so seriously. It's made for a mixture of entertainment and showcasing basic things. I think it's kind of neat. Jeez-louise.
Great video. Im from the U.S and I really enjoy learning from these videos. Im also reading the S.A.S survival guide and even with a great deal of outdoor experience im learning alot from it as well. I plan to learn all I can from S.A.S as well as our own military survival guides. Thanks for sharing.

Hi there you can just eat fish fresh if it's freshly caught.
All the techniques shown are pretty accurate although maybe shown in conditions that are "pretty unlikely" and a bit "too optimimistic" as in gear being available etc. Open fire would be an absolute no. But as a start a pretty good series. It is obviously not a "catch all" I did laugh when I saw the white sedan parked at 24:41....

Someone was paying attention lol.
And if you know you are being pursued, why would you start a fire which can be seen for miles at night and the smoke can be easily seen by day?
looking for shelter i was shocked he didn't look for a bed and breakfast
At 21' 00" he is resting under a tree, and appears to be surrounded by Navelwort (those round leaves, also known as Wall Pennywort). Stems, leaves and roots are all edible, and it's a good source of additional water. It can also be used in a healing poultice for wounds.

I read your comment then looked at your pic 🤣😂🤣
There was a point where he was flailing himself about on the floor in dried leaves creating a trail Stevie Wonder could easily follow, I'm sure there were more energy efficient ways (at the very least) to get yourself easily tracked (maybe he's a big Stevie Wonder fan?).
Very nice. I think it would be a nice idea to have survival items in the clothes. Thanks for uploading the videos.
Legend I learnt a lot about bush craft survival
He escapes from interrogation, and has a radio! how convenient! SAS mahic.
Older B.E. 499 Tacbe rescue radio used. Just to note that it is VHF/UHF gear so maximum range coverage is from high ASL areas as same as free open spaces.
This is my favourite Rat Patrol episode .
You can eat frshly cought fish without cooking if it's fresh. It's one of the best meat-types to do so.
old school what a great time
Might wanna take that coat you used to jump the fence
It’s good to know the hunter force arnt concerned about the random camera man that always follows the hunted around.
Everybody has to understand this is the SAS ideal for Force that all others are based on remember that
Never build a fire when you don't want to be found. Not only can it be seen it can be heard and smelled.

To his credit he did find some cover for it. You still need food and sleep after all, and fish would be the best protein source available.
SAS 🙏
THIS IS "HIGH-SPEED" TRAINING!!!
The condoms I use will hold far more than 2 pints . Maybe a gallon . That's just me : )
Whoever made this video has absolutely no business calling this any kind of a survival guide or evasion guide. Firstly, if you are captured you will be stripped of all of your equipment. You WILL NOT have, lock picks, fire starters, food or any semblence of a kit. You will be lucky to even have clothes. The "advice" portrayed in this guide will 100% get you re-captured or killed. The dude may as well have found a Holiday Inn and called it a night.

You could have such items easily concealed inside your rectum. Also, it's easy to improvise lockpicks from almost any thin wire-like metal. The info is still useful despite the low budget. You should use your head before making yourself look like a know-it-all wanker, Donald.
you need to get out of any bad situation, dont be seen, heard, smelled, and get away at all times as far as you can! if you cant worst happens and more damage the longer there is a fight
Tossing away weapons. An leaving sign behind ya. Like that coat on the fence. I got prob. with that.
That stick and stone direction method, is that just for the northern hemisphere?
these days radio waves can be intercepted so using a walkie talkie would be useless as it can give away one’s location
I don't know what kind of rationale this makes but I've noticed a lot of Wars the US has gotten into we always support the South (except for the Civil War) therefore if you're in the North and if you're in enemy territory you should unless you're on a continental divide be able to get into a river and escape to the South via a river? Floating right past your enemies at night time on a log.
Too many haters in the comments. Can I have instructions on how to evade them.
Really useful in any event 👍👌👋
Why didn't the camera man save him?!? :O

They are packed with carcinogens! Avoid them.
entertaining but full of mistakes. like taking the coat leaving the rifle and other gear from soldier. leaving coat on fence(he could use that to stay warm. rolling around in the leafs. starting a fire with enemy on his tail.spending what could be hours snaring a rabbit(which you could tell was killed by a shotgun). this was like an extended Rambo first blood/behind enemy lines scene.

Why didn't they carry fragmentation granades. They could easily have avoided capture.
Everybody knows take away the foot wear. A western soldier loses his ability to escape.
My question is why are they using m16 rifles with m203 grenade launchers
something tells me most of this methods would not work in today’s military situations, armies have learnt over the years how to prevent escape of the interogated subjects and can use drones to chase the interogated soldier and even shoot him with one . the game is very different nowdays
Not a military person of any kind, but this video have so many errors with the continuity...
Was this directed by Mel Brooks ?
Should’ve took the AK from the guard and why did he leave the guards coat on the fence? It would help keep him warm at night and leaving it there would only lead the enemy closer to him.

These are talking points from staff during the lecture afterwards,
If it was me i would have kept the kalishnov and either hid the jacket or brought it with me as a handy disguise or for warmth and i wouldnt light a fire if someone was tracking me but thats just me i know its easy to talk ....

Good thing, those Easter European /Englishmen dressed by Hugo Boss are afraid of helecopters.
Couldn't we steal an enemy costume to reduce the chance of getting caught?

It's simple, Just go to ShepherdSurvives page.

Haters are gonna hate for those who thumbs down
S.a.s escape in bashed to guards an left there guns I’d do when I was p.o.w I lasted 67 yrs in camp lol

TBH I think its unlikely you would come across a lone soldier, and of you did, running up to him unarmed probably wouldnt be wise if you value survival... But who cares this isn't for people who will ever need to do any of this

The priority is evasion. Once a SERE subject starts shooting he gets captured. If one is in a position where he has to fight he is as good as captured. It also makes the subject more likely to be killed rather than recaptured. SERE teaches you that you are no good to your country dead, but you still have value because it takes multiple bad guys to care for you that could be on the front line fighting against your side. The AK is also weight that the evader doesn't want. Passing up the weapon is the right call.

Bullshit
I'm sure this had relevance at the time it was produced but things have moved on.. and how someone in captivity having escaped finds a radio and lock picking techniques suddenly available is laughable. As a civilian pilot supporting special forces and flying ISR work in Afghanland, we had to undergo training for escape and survival, it has moved on.
really light a fire bahaha thats it bring them in from miles away might as well light a flare and giving up
He'd have been stripped and none of this equipment a valuable anyone thinking of joining military do not watch this

Then builds a fucking fire and goes fishing and hunting for rabbits lol
"Yorky" makes more sign than a brigade would then they say don't leave sign. He then thinks that not only is making a massive fire a good idea so is wasting an entire field dressing as tinder!!! Is this the same guy that wrote that book talking himself up only to have the ex RSM of 22 SAS say he was full of shite and a coward to boot?
Looks like there impersonating serbian soilders i was in the serbian army in the 90s I can tell you when he escaped he would of had no Survival tools at all no belt no shoe lovers and he would of been heavily guarded
What a crock of total and utter Bs, do your really think that the hunter forces do not know how to survive out in the bush, forest, snow etc,all the same tricks, so they are going to find you if you go north or south or east or west, thay will have road blocks at each point wheres the nears roads based on those points nearest to your forces, which is why you travel at night always and use the moon and starts to find your way and if during the daylight its about keeping yourself warm or cool and finding food and a shelter full stop? Also very importantly you have to know what to eat and how to eat it uncooked or cooked which the light and smoke will give you away unless you make a shelter which will shield the light of the fire in extreme cold or a snow cave and cover the front with something which you collect during the day? these are basics for those who may get lost while trekking in the woods,. lol :)
Hmmm I really hope SAS train's folk better then this. My personal thot, claymore on chest or 4 grenades. When caught blow all to hell. E&E sounds so good but total bull shite. Very rare to escape and evade. As soldier your job is to kill enemy the more the better, every dead officer is a score. Sacrifice, don't let enemy kill you kill them with your body if need be. Never yeald never surrender.
