Sarah North - Poor Orphan Child clawhammer minstrel banjo
Музыка
Alright, kids-Week 2 of Promised Weekly Postings! And, in the likewise promised un-edited, un-overthought format, as you can tell from the fact that I accidentally cut off my left hand, ha. Well, close your eyes and pretend it’s a recording. ;-)
This song is ungodly fun and one of my faves of all time. Also picked up from Clifton Hicks.
Final note: I have a confession to make-I hate changing strings so much, especially nylguts, that I haven’t changed the strings on this banjo in SEVEN. YEARS. 😝😝😝 I know, I knoooow! And yes, these days it’s crazy hard to play and make sound good. I am hereby sharing this folly so that I can be held accountable to actually change these damn things. Next time I pick up the minstrel for y’all, she’ll have some pop and sparkle!

Welcome back! Lovely to see and hear new material from you
Fantastic
Always love your videos! I'm actually doing my university dissertation on Appalachian folk and I'm gonna talk about the minstrel banjo!
More soul than most artists I’ve heard
Nice playing!! I hate changing strings too - they still sound good to me!
Girl this is perfect, I love your style!❤
Classic great job once again from Sarah Nichols. NICE,
Outstanding!
Nice to have you posting music again. All the best with your new career.
Yay! You fulfilled my request! The song was beautiful as ever! I haven't changed the strings on my minstrel in 3 years... What brand/type you plan on getting? Suggestions?
Changing strings is overrated I reckon. Don't do it lass, your playing sounds really great !! 🆒
