please DO NOT EVER STOP THIS story! I am madly insanely in love with every character in these books and I am so impatiently waiting for A Court of Frost and Starlight to come out in May. You darling, are an amazing writer with a beautiful imagination and mind. Thank you for this gift. All of it.

Princess Mononoke! YESSS! A great movie! Music is where I get a lot of my inspiration. :)
Fellow mythology nerd here. I was wondering if there were also nods to the myths of Persephone, and Psyche & Eros? Lots of awesome elements from those myths!! Some I noticed: Feyre’s 3 challenges are like Psyche’s “3 impossible tasks” where she receives miraculous help and one of task is even sorting seeds/lentils just like Psyche; Amarantha is giving very “Aphrodite jealous of Eros & Psyche’s love” vibes; Tamlin’s response while she does her impossible tasks is VERY Eros - away and distant/unable to intervene while captured by the royal court leaving her to her heroine’s journey largely alone; Tamlin being masked feels very Eros-like how Psyche is to live in Eros’ luxurious castle where she, like Psyche, are provided for but can’t see her lovers’ true face and everyone encourages her to “not ask questions”; Feyre having to spend a week/month w/ Rhysand is a lot like Persephone’s soul-selling contract to Hades; the Persephone myth is the Greeks’ reason we have seasons and I wondered if there’s a nod there in the courts all having seasonal names, Feyre’s mother being dead, the loss of innocence theme in Feyre murdering, etc; Feyre’s ultimate prize of immortality and love is like Psyche where the royal courts decide their love transcends mortality and make her immortal. I love seeing all these myth/fairytale themes!😍
She is also it's very creative how with beauty and the beast in the story we all know the prince starts off as the beast to transform into the prince but in this case I feel like it's the complete opposite of the prince transforming into the beast anyone else agrees
She is a Legend, to be 16 years old and have the ability potray the desires of a powerful young girl on a page is pure brilliance
Omg I already looved her and then she says “ Princess Mononoke”. Whaaat?! Loove you more 😍😍😍
soooooooo thought out all her books and the way she writes them is unreal. I am now waiting for crescent city 3
East of the Sun and West of the Moon is my favorite story/fairytale of all time! I definitely noticed two of the main aspects of the story in ACOTAR.
what an absolute twist of coincidence (or maybe fate) that I just saw a re-screening of Princess Mononoke in theaters just days before impulsively buying ACOTAR & reading it within a few days. I really enjoyed it, she was really good at describing the emotion and depth of music at a certain point in the book too which is fitting
SHE IS SO BEAUTIFUL. I CANT WAIT TO DIVE INTO THIS BOOK
She’s so damn gorgeous and such an amazing writer!! ❤️🥰
Wait stop!!! She based some of the book from Studio Ghibli!!! No wonder I love the series and I even know what song she’s talking about 😭😭
she is my spirit animal thank you god
It's an awesome book thank u Sarah
I love how the UK covers are always a little lighter than the US ones. That's strangely always been amusing to me. Weird, I know, but I take my joys where I can.
Truly a mastermind of her practice.
I can't wait to finish this book!
i love this woman
That exact soundtrack is in my recommendations right now...
I knew it!!!! You got inspired in The Beauty and the Beast!!! I noticed the references!!! 👏
I love how she is wearing an Indian kurta! It really lines up with what she is saying about how she loves mythology from around the world!
All hail Queen Sarah
SHE'S THE BEST....LOVE SARAH J MASS....HER BOOKS ARE SO FREAKIN AMAZING ❤️️❤️️❤️️
Nice work ❤
She's a god !
Loving the depth here? The book takes it a step further. "Stars Aligned" by Olivia Whitestone

I'm from India she also used the name BHARTA..I don't know why that made me proud
I always thought the story took a wee bit of inspiration from Welsh mythology (Cerridwen’s cauldron, calan mai) and because so many of the names are Welsh! Haha
Is that the author? Of this incredible book?! But, she's so young
I love these books but i read them when I was 13 im now 14 still obsessed lmao
For anyone who likes this author, you'll definitely want to pick up "Stars Aligned" by Olivia Whitestone. It was a captivating experience for me. The whole series is incredible.
I expected an inspiration to be beauty and the beast
🤗
My favorite series comes from my favorite movie 😍 it was destiny
Sarah J. Maas actually did girl power right. Feyre is tough, brave, and stubborn to a fault. But it never gets in the way of her femininity, and she's allowed to be vulnerable just as Tamlin is. She faces nearly insurmountable odds and overcomes it all through grit and determination. THAT is the mark of a strong female protagonist.
I knew it, I knew it! 1:12
Wait... I thought Tamlin was inspired by Glorfindel from the Lord of the Rings XD. (See image from One Wiki to Rule Them All to see what I mean :P)

One series has been picked up by Hulu and the rights to the other series were picked up by a movie production company, can’t recall which one though. I haven’t read the books, just saw an interview with her.
I just finished reading all of her books and I now don't know how to exist in the real world.
She looks like Jennifer Lawrence
Venatrix
glad to know she’s a ghibli fan too LOL
i love should brought up princess mononoke
Black jewels trilogy
Tam Lin is Scottish fyi
Damn, most of my story ideas are just some degree of fanfiction. 🥴
Knew she watched anime
The demon she's talking abt from hindu mythology are the nagas
soooo many sex scenes in both books.....
@xmenlover16

The first book only has one legit sex scene, right before Feyre goes home (they make love twice, but it's one scene. They make love near the end of the book, but they don't mention anything other than the kissing. The scene in the dark hallway that Rhys interrupts later was steamy, but they didn't have sex. Most of the book is definitely sexy and not afraid to show it, but ACOTAR didn't have many sex scenes. ACOMAF on the other hand has a few more, but still isn't overloaded in it. Most of it is Sarah's incredible descriptions, which lean more toward the sultry side and that Feyre isn't afraid to use her imagination. It's safe to say that the books are definitely more adult than many other books classified YA, but they're not exactly a cardboard cutout Harlequin novel.

I would venture to call it New Adult because of the sex scenes, but they're some of the best parts ;p

Tam Lin is not English. It is a Scottish feminist medieval legend
I thought she was inspired by twilight lol. It's so similar m
ACOTAR has nice concept. Very Good plot. But SHITTY characters and writing style. I wish someone else, someone more competent had written this series.

The characters are perfectly believable. Flawed, but endearing. I prefer them to the irreproachable Mary Sues Hollywood is spewing out lately.
