THIS SONG( and the entire album) saved me from suiciding myself after my husband died suddenly 9 years ago. I sometimes put it on when I'm feeling down and reminds me that life does go on.

My mom was always in and out of addiction and growing up Sara was one of her favorite artists. On her good days she’d blast her music and clean the house and cook and love on us and me and my sister who is 8 years younger than me and was just a baby when this started would join in and Sara was front and center in us three bonding. My mom has now been sober for three years and my sister is turning 15 and our lives are so much more peaceful and hearing this brought tears to my eyes because we all love her so much and she reminds us of the good times in the darkness that we lived. 💛

I love The Vampire Diaries (and you can probably guess who my favourite character is... Hint, it's my KZread name lol). The series was just so well done. The actors put so much heart and soul into every single emotion, especially the sad scenes like Bonnie's funeral around the tree stump, and Liz Forbes' funeral. Agh, Damon's eulogy for her was so good. Currently I'm watching through "The Originals" on Netflix, and it's seems just as good. Only on first season so far but it's looking great so far. But honestly, up until now the Vampire Diaries is my most favourite TV series I've ever watched.

I'm here because of Smallville. This song always fills me with a weird kaleidoscope of emotions. There's a sense of completeness and having finally found peace, but at the same time a sense of mourning that something that came to be something of an emotional crutch for me for 10 years is coming to an end. (Yes, I first watched it back before streaming and binge watching were household things.)

Addiction ruined my life from my grandparents to my parents to mine for the last 27 years. I'm finally accepting that my father can never be in my life again with how his 50 year addiction has destroyed my family. I left his house this weekend. I didn't say goodbye. I can breathe again.
