They have a machine for everything these days lol. Never seen the jig for Sapphires running before. Pretty cool!

They sure do the old dredge left a lot of sapphires behind.
Awesome video Alan. You should have a good size jar full by now 😆 we had the day looking for opal south of Bozeman today. No luck 😆🤷🏽♂️ but that’s why they call it hunting and not finding lmao. Thanks for the share and have a good one

Great sapphire, except for the colour. You can crash them to make your own sandpaper.

Nothing wrong with something other than blue---sandpaper, indeed!
What a process. Who piled all that material there ? Huge piles of pay dirt
@alanrobertson2510
4 жыл бұрын
The piles came from the dredge that was operating there during world war two.
That is so cool sometimes when I am out mining here in North Georgia I find little opaque looking stones that to me look like they could be sapphires but I don't think that there are any in my area

You will know when you find a sapphire it looks like a broken piece of colored glass. Thanks for watching.

She needs to come and find some. Yes I did set up my sluice found a little bit not enough to put in the video so I cut it out.
Nice, Alan!
That's amazing Alan. Until you shared these last two videos, I had never seen a jig in action. Those red ones you found should be Ruby correct? From what I understand, it's all corundum. Red is Ruby, the rest are sapphire. But I'm far from an expert, Way Far!!
@alanrobertson2510

So I am no expert either. The reds ones found here are garnets.

It sure is fun to go to the mine.
When I lived in Arkansas I found a small diamond at the diamond mines park in Murfreesboro I had a blast and got even luckier because I found a perfect bird point arrow Head.
What state & type of ground area are you working? You were just dumping buckets, but didn't show where or how you were doing it??
@alanrobertson2510

Montana. The pile of gravel was behind the screens already classified to one inch.
Was that a Cretatious fossil I seen in the second to last pic ? Also do you plan on cutting any of those ? I'm sure you must have some gemmy ones

So We have never sold a single sapphire the wife keeps them all even the ones that are cut. Now if you have some sapphires that are super clear blue over 6 or 7 cts they can be worth thousands and not hard to sell. Sorry I wasn't much help.
