Not sure they can sell many for the prices they ask. $3k Hightower D with SX and basic wheels/suspension or Ripmo AF Deore for only $200 more.
Pretty much everyone knew it was Nomad SC was dropping next. I like the design of the new head tube, looks cool. Surprised to see them mix Rockshox with Fox, thats a new one. Why not just throw a Zeb up front or an X2 in back? One of the nicest looking frames out there. Looks like a great bike and fantastic video.

That’s a 29er tho so you need a Nomad too! Lol Feel free to use this in your defense case when the better half finds out.
It is really expensive, but it's silly to compare its price and spec to a direct-sale bike like Propain or YT. Bikes sold in bike shops are always going to be relatively more expensive. If you don't want to pay the premium for a shop bike, that's understandable, but don't act shocked because they don't offer the same value as direct sales.

Trek is not a direct-sale brand but has reasonable prices
Good review video, Kaz! Here's my tip for my Saints brake pads, I did " carefully" spread out the pads springs away from each other, to have the pads pushed against the pistons. It did the trick for me, hope that helps 🤘
That geo sounds pretty ideal
Solid bike , both colours are awesome. I think the mixed shock combo is actually good. The Super Deluxe is really plush and the Fox Forks are simply the best. I bought a bike with 4 piston XT brakes and I m not experiencing the rattling ... maybe they re not all doing it. I don t have a bite point problem either.
@topspot4834

Completely agree. It's not Nike and Adidas. You can't even see the shock all black, and if it bothers you that much just swap it out.

does this build have a short 37mm offset fork?
Is the xl nomad v5 not suggested for a tall rider due to the 27,5" tyres? Thanks
i love santa cruz but my ocd kicks in when they pair a fox fork with rockshox shock even though it works rlly well and I totally wouldn't see a dpx2 on this
Would you pick this or the hightower?
Really impressed with my wife’s SC 5010 climbing with the 5010. Is the nomad going to be significantly worse climbing that the 5010?

I like the amount of travel this bike has, soaks up just about everything. But the rear feels loose all the time. I'm constantly checking tire pressure and spokes mid ride. I'm going to try carbon wheel set and if that doesn't fix it I'm gonna sell..
I kinda expected something more, better really. Guess this is a cool update. Santa Cruz just really isn't that exciting to me these days I suppose. I'm sure some still like them though.

Santa Cruz has a great warranty program. My friend had an aluminum 26" Nomad. He broke the rear end after ten or so years of beating it like his MX bikes. Santa Cruz Didnt stock that rear end anymore so they gave him a complete new frame! He broke it while on a big trip so he bought a new Nomad CC so he could finish the trip. Santa Cruz is one of the very best brands. A very clued in company. Their bikes are super dialed. I ride with the guy who builds all of their show bikes and some of their wheel builders. I owned a Tazmon way back when. SC's very 1st bike. It was one of the better early FS bikes. Now I like hard tails and singlespeeds. I rarely ever ride my Turner except in the Sierras. Simple is as simple does. I ride much, much more than I wrench! FS bikes have too many moving parts to service and that speed always seems to get me in trouble!
How would this compare to the bronson
I feel a lot of the feedback about how it's very controlled and doesn't take you for a ride only suggests that 650b wheela has a lot to offer
What about the kona process x
YEEEEESSS
Now I’m confused- thought the Bronson was all mountain and the Nomad was enduro.
The review on Vital references that Santa Cruz is specifically recommending not to mullet this bike. Does anybody have any SPECIFIC information on why that is?

Probably, because you will have to size up the front wheel, unless you want to go 27.5 up front and 26 in the rear.
Do you have a stunt double?
The fork crown is backwards in at least some of the shots - bike in the stand and when it's in the field and they're panning around it. Not sure if it's also backwards in the riding shots.

I feel like all frames being made now a days should have some form of swat box. Especially as the lead designer of SC said its one of the things he's most gutted they never thought of. I mean even trek are doing it
@TheAllEngineering
3 жыл бұрын
And the price, SC are way over priced, the entry level ones have componentry that is well below the level expected for the price, and they are no better than other brands especially for average riders that do not push the bike to the limit where any subtle differences may show if there are any.
@JulienVollweiter
3 жыл бұрын
@@TheAllEngineering I used to think the same, but after owing the Nomad V4 for over a year i couldn't disagree more. The Nomad was my first bike that i really truly loved. No pedal bob, not much pedal kickback, enough progression but not too much so you can still setup up different shocks, etc. I used to own a YT, Canyon etc because of the parts but now i would definitely choose a high end frame over parts. Plus every time something brakes you get excited to upgrade 😊😅

@TheAllEngineering
3 жыл бұрын
@@JulienVollweiter If you climb at a sedate pace then pedal bob and inefficiency is not really an issue, but if you power it up then the forward momentum definitely does not match the power being put in. I rode HT and found it really bad when you ramped the power up, at a sedate pace it was ok.
