    It just rose to the top of mine, too. I’m still going to test a 2022 Bronson asap, but really, I’m pretty sure I won’t want the 29 on my bike at all - even if it’s just in front. -_-

    Yea that oxblood is giving me vampire lust. I'm still on 27.5 at the moment and don't really want to go 29'r so I'm glad companies are still making 650b bikes that rip. Having owned a 2019 Bronson I already know the suspension platform is great. This is at the very top of my list now.

    Oxblood is sick! The Medium has numbers that I teally like. 450mm Reach, the 1225mm WB, 64 Deg HTA, and the 78 deg STA, but I would prefer 5mm longer chainstay. Top Tube length is about 15-20mm shorter than traditional.mediums, but still very doable. Now SC just needs a Mullett Nomad with the same numbers!

    Slayer would hit it! I love this machine. I ride a 2022 V4 S build 5010 in size Large but with Carbon Reserve 30 (DT Swiss Hubs) wheel upgrade I'm the almost same height 1" taller at 5'10" but same 30" inseam as Brad so should I be riding a size Medium in the Nomad and for that matter the 5010? When I bought that bike in October 2021 the medium just left me feeling too cramped? I'm buying a Nomad (X01 AXS Reserve Kit) this week as I hear the 2023 will go mullet and prefer the 27.5 setup. KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK Vital MTB WE IN THE UK LOVE YOU GUYS!!!

    head angles are about a 1-degree slacker, reaches are longer across the board (10mm longer on our medium), seat angles are about 3 to 4 degrees steeper. seat tubes are shorter and chainstay lengths are size specific.

    That color in the sun looks pretty outstanding! The green looks really sweet too. XO1 and XT builds are a little too pricey, looks like xt build doesn't even have carbon wheels. Seems the XO1 carbon wheels are just DT swiss. Too pricey for what your getting on these builds. I wonder about Cascade components creating a link for this?

  • @vitalmtb

    @vitalmtb

    3 жыл бұрын

    With the permutations of builds and options, keeping track of pricing can be a bit tricky. Any builds that feature carbon wheels will be Santa Cruz's Reserve rims, with a lifetime warranty. The standard (alloy rim) builds of these bikes are in line with many other brands specs. The $6,199 for the XT build is the same price as Devinici's new Troy XT LTD.

    too bad you didn't mentioned the very very interesting fact that you can actually shorten and extend the travel of the bike - at least in theory. the shock has 62.5mm stroke - you can extended it to 65 to get +5/10mm of travel, or shorten it to 60mm to get -5/10. I think that is a great option for different applications - when you shorten it, it will stiffen up a bit and vice versa, go plusher when you extend it. will that also change a bit of the HA, SA, and BB? same goes for growing or losing 2 teeth on the chainring - so a lot of options there. would like to know if that was made on purpose, so you can do this, or is it just a lucky brake for the rider. is it expensive? heck yeah - that's why I ride YT. also, can't really go back to lesser progressive bikes, so I get to save 8.7K's... lol

    this year i have sold my specialized stumpjumper 2017 carbon to buy some enduro and XC bike. ended up building 2018 Nomad V4 CC with FOX 36 elite,shimano XT 12s+XX1 carbon cranks,XA-elite wheels tubeless,carbon handlebar from NS,shimano saint brakes and few other things for around 2,500$. No need for XC so far after using climb switch on suspension. I'm impresed how this super enduro machine can go up... i do rlly mean that. My previous stumpy (forgot to say that was mullet) couldn't climb half that good with half of SC susp. Also Nomad weight less. But this new nomad should be called V4.5 cuz not that much have changed like V2 vs V3 or V3 vs V4

    this is VERY general, but the same reason a porsche costs more than a yaris. volume of production is part of it (number of high end parts vs mass produced parts) and it comes down to materials used and overall weight of the parts. light carbon or precisely machined metal parts on an expensive build vs heavier stamped parts on less expensive builds.

    Not a 27.5 guy but If i did I would probably go with the mach 6. Price wise it's a good value for what you get. It's the lower models in the lineup that are overpriced. Once you hit the 4k mark you shouldn't see a nx drivetrain. Minimum should be gx imo

    Interesting proposal. Pivot does not even offer a bike at that price point, they start at $6,000 for GX parts. The comparable X01 Mach 6 is $9,000 and lacks carbon wheels as well as a lesser-expensive (but still good) FOX 36.

    @@vitalmtb I was saying that the higher end Santa Cruz is a good price point. It’s their lower tier bikes I think are too high. I talked about the pivot because of the dw which I prefer over vpp. I know pivots aren’t cheap

    Vital do you, or anyone else for that matter have any further details on why Santa Cruz is specifically advising not to mullet this bike?

    When we talked to Santa Cruz about it they said that in order to preserve the geometry and handling characteristics of the bike, one would have to reduce the fork travel considerably, which would again, compromise what the bike is. It has been our experience that in mulleting a bike, it is best to start with a 29er that has a flip-chip and swap the rear wheel, putting the chip in the "high" position. Though our findings are more subjective than conclusive.
