Unreal race by Roadster...couldn't believe how far back Mike Smith let him drop back, and then boom, he took off!

Wow surprisingly great race

Wow Game Winners run was BIG!

Game Winner did all the hard work.

Finally Santa Anita decides to make the track safe. More cushion & slower times like the east coast. 1:51 for a 1 1/8 is slow, but safe. Just have to see what happens when it rains

1:48 when adjusted, a very nice win and really liked him coming in ran well enough to get it done. Loved his race coming in and you could see the difference that day.

TRACK HAD NOTHING TO DO WITH IT .

Rosario was moving on Game Winner at the far turn (4 wide the whole way) while Roadster sat chilly and fell back. GW was tanked by the 16th pole. Easy to see who ran the better race.

And game winners jockey lets up slightly so Roadster can pass and get Baffert another horse in the derby. You have to know how many of these horses are trained and owned by the same people to understand the game. Getting in the KD the trainers run the show, once they qualify the owners pick their best chance and many enter two, one with the best chance of winning, the other to set pace, block etc. After that the KD running itself is legit but only after these other things have taken place.

watch that again Joel is driving on Game Winner but when he knew he was beat by Mike Smith who isn't driving on Roadster what is he going to do lol..I know get as many as you have in but Roadster is a better horse

Bob and Joel played with Game Winner. This horse could have won the Rebel stakes and the santa Anita derby. what I've observed from watching those two race replays is that in the rebel Joel only started using the whip on the horse in mid stretch but in the SA derby he used the whip entering the lane and as soon as they pass instergran Joel drop his hands when he saw roadster

savor the flavor roadster you may find it a bit hard to pass game in the derby

Great race,but I think Roaster can't win the Kentucky Derby because he wasn't so impressive here in a race with a very short field.What is more , he isn't a horse who need to stay near the lead,and sometimes this is a disadvantage for derby horses.

Neither of these horses were all out, just hands and heels in the finish. Another ridiculous ride by Joel Rosario really, he must have run 50/60 feet further than Roadster and gets beat a neck. Roadster had a dream set up and trip here, not convinced he is a 10f horse, game winner is screaming for the extra furlong.

Baffert should replace Rosario for the Derby.

thats great for the owners, trainers,jockeys , whether a horse is first or last. how are they rewarded? they get stuck in a stable; lucky to get a carrot/apple or oats. do they get to go to the horsey bar with their racemates .throw back some beer and check out the hot fillies ????hellll no.....

Roadster, what a bust! Won and done! Where is he now? Did he retire?

Whenever I get on a Toledo scale the arm spins all around until it bounces off the end. I'd probably kill a horse the moment I sit on it!

Baffert won't win the derby this year Mike Smith deciding to ride Omaha beach says a lot but there's a lot more speed this year so with a fast track I think your gunna see a nice priced horse win

Another joke of prep involving Baffert. First of all a six horse field? Especially for a prep that produced last years K Derby/Triple Crown winner? 2/3 of the field were horses by Baffert and Hollendorfer. Rosario moving well before the second turn? Essentially Baffert using one horse to set another up for the win. Tired of Baffert and his antics. Time for him to go. If any of his horses are worth their salt INCLUDING last years Triple Crown winner you don’t need to run as a team. Essentially he chose the Santa Anita track for this because his charges were getting beat at other tracks for their preps. Anybody who thinks that Smith was the difference must be drunk or new to the sport. Since he rode in New York he was and still is a sub par jockey. He was second fiddle to Jerry Bailey and when Cordero and Vasquez were still riding who was Mike Smith? I’ll say it here first==no Kentucky derby winner this year for Baffert and all his charges, what’s left of them, are sub par this year. Oh and I hope mike smith is on one of them in the k Derby. I want to hear the excuses or will I be met with silence which is what I usually hear when mike smith loses a major stakes race.

Watch for the coownership to mess things up too, you need a really good independently trained and owned horse to take the Baffert collusion out of the picture. Pletcher may have trained Audible but he was coowned by the same people who owned Justify. Pulled from Preakness and Belmont for that reason.

@@mauricewillims1656 And you don't know racing strategy I just used Audible as an example of how trainers with multiple horses and multiple owners for horses the decisions about what races to run, how to run them etc are not always straightforward or as simple as try to have every horse run to win every race. You really think Baffert wanted GW to beat Roadster meaning he would have a horse on the bubble instead of another in the derby. I'm not saying roadster couldn't win the KD just that in the SA Game Winner was not supposed to win.
