An important difference between One Piece and Naruto is that while Oda is surely planning to make Sanji stronger by the end of the series, Kishimoto is going to forget about adult Rock Lee in Boruto series (because for him, only Boruto and Kawaki matters).

@Miguel López which is the worst thing about kishimoto's writing. Almost exclusively making two characters relevant, whilst creating a lot of characters which are interesting but doomed to irrelevance. This will inevitably leave the character side of the story crumbling apart, which forces the writer to jam in a different character, that by this point is so irrelevant to the story and world building that they may as well just be an NPC (and not a good one at that) Only writing one or two important characters for a story only works for SHORT stories. Not long expansive stories like in most Manga. Imagine if One Piece only had two relevant characters. Imagine if Dragonball only had two relevant characters....... Oh, wait. Well, at least the writers are now *trying* to fix that.

The thing is Sanji in the current manga has gain new abilities that have made him even more of a beast then what the death battle showed. Speed so fast that it's mistaken for Invisibility, strength and durability that makes some Haki user look as soft as a pillow. And he's only gonna get stronger (i guess one of the perks of being apart of a long running manga/anime series).

Fun fact: Sanji's name was going to be Naruto, but then the Naruto manga was about the be released so Oda (One Piece's creator) changed it to Sanji. Haki can mean "ambition", "will power", "drive", "spirit", "vigor" and "aspiration" to name a few. The term itself, however, literally translates to "Supreme Qi".

I bet on Sanji from the beginning. See, Lee's role in the story of Naruto is essentially to fight opponents stronger than him, get beat up, then dedicate himself even further to his training, refusing to give up no matter how many times he's knocked down. He is the eternal underdog. Admirable and relatable, but doesn't translate well to a Death Battle. Especially against a guy who can outrun water pressure, set his leg on fire underwater, and react quickly enough to dodge a shot fired by a guy who could see a few seconds into the future.

Since this episode came out, Sanji got a big power up we don't quite understand the extent of. So yes, he wins. Such powerup hasn't appeared in the anime yet so no details.

I can explain the powerup. Pretty sure the drugs the mother took to stop him from being superhuman only prevented it for a temporary period of time. In other words, the effects of the experiment took affect.

@@Unholy_Triforce You "can" but you shouldn't. Spoilers dude 🙄 Also what I mean that er don't quite understand I mean that HOW BIG the powerup is. Yes we know it pushes him from below Vergo to above the one he defeated with it, but all we know for now is very superficial. Oda will most likely explain it on the aftermath or when he comments it with someone else.

They haven’t had a Deathbattle with Luffy, but he, Sanji, and Zoro are the monster trio of the Strawhats, with Zoro and Sanji being monstrously tough and he in particular had gotten much stronger since this death battle. The next deathbattle is the most destructive death battle of them all so I hope you get one hell of a kick out of it. The current season you are finishing is 7, with season 9 premiering later this month.

Sanji and his siblings have a lot of similarities with the works of Shotaro Ishinomori. Famous for influential superhero series like Super Sentai, Kamen Rider and Cyborg 009, from the color coded outfits, team format and superhero aesthetic. Sanji’s leg catching fire also seems similar to the Rider Kick in Kamen Rider. If you don’t know any of Ishinomori’s works you’re likely more familiar with Haim Saban’s more child friendly American adaptation of Super Sentai’s sixteenth series Kyōryū Sentai Zyuranger, which was changed into Mighty Morphin Power Rangers.

The reason none of the videos you've seen talk about Sanji is because those all cover the more abnormal aspects of One Piece, like Devil Fruits. He has no real super powers or abilities. Everything he's capable of is learned through martial arts, passion, and grit. Theoretically, any human in the One Piece world would be capable of these feats if they push themselves hard enough. Also, the guys you saw shooting lasers from their mouth that they used for a speed feat for Sanji? Also not Devil Fruit aided, they're robotic duplicates of a cyborg that DOES have Devil Fruit powers, but the guy who made the robots couldn't duplicate the powers into them.

@@arandomguyontheinternet2308 They are a joke to Sanji, because he didn't get the Germa powers and yet surpassed those that did. If you recall, his mom took a drug while she was pregnant with him and his brothers that was supposed to keep them from developing them, but Sanji was the only one the drug affected. So he was born 100% human, while his bothers all turned out super powered. It's the reason why they tormented him growing up and why Judge did nothing about it. Because everyone in Germa other than his mom and Reiju saw Sanji as worthless. Yet he saved their asses in the end and he didn't need their powers to do so.

Sanji became wayyyy more insane in the manga after this death battle came out. He got a new fighting ability called "Ifrit Jambe" with blue fire and lighting infusion, he moves so fast that the 3rd most powerful pirate of the arguably most powerful pirate crew in One Piece said that Sanji went invisible just by moving so fast, he has a regeneration healing factor and a hardened exoskeleton (The previously mentioned superhuman pirate swung his sword at Sanji's neck and the sword broke into pieces just by touching his skin).

Sanji doesn’t even have a DF and his physical strength is immense, this guy is so frickin strong already but just imagine if Oda was to give him Advanced Conqueror’s Haki. Like imagine him infusing his fiery, passionate leg with conqueror’s haki. I think that would be insanely broken that probably y he might not get conquerors haki. He will become too overpowered to even remain in the crew as the 2nd commander

Crazy how outdated this is in just a year, Sanji got so much buffs now so yh he would low diff Lee.

At the time this was released, it was a bit contentious. Scaling Post-Timeskip Sanji to Post-Timeskip Luffy was seen as something to raise an eyebrow at, especially with the comparison they used of Oven and Katakuri. However, it was still accepted, since a current Raid-Suited Sanji could almost certainly keep up with base-form Luffy at the start of the Timeskip. With recent manga events, however, this has been shattered. Sanji's shown off abilities and stats unlike we've ever seen from him, and would be running circles around Rock Lee, now even potentially being able to take a solid hit from him. Speed still is the determining factor, but Sanji's a much clearer Victor now. Three Sanji fun facts: Sanji has used his hands to fight exactly once in One Piece, to defeat a man with ramen-based superpowers. He treated the situation like a chef, dissecting and cooking his arsenal piece by piece, dual-wielding knives and proving himself one of the most skilled swordsmen in the story, even though he'd never use those abilities for anything but culinary reasons. Sanji proved himself to be unequivocally the best Chef in East Blue through a cook-off, and later won another cook-off against the entire kitchen staff of a Marine complex at once while only using the parts of food you would normally throw away. His food has surpassed the standards of even the greatest chefs, critics, and even lifelong enemies in the series, but he's always respectful of those who take cooking seriously, regardless of skill level. I believe the intro to the battle implies the Rock Lee actually found the food spicy, but egged on Sanji for the chance at a battle. Which he would totally do if a customer complained with no suitable reason. Sanji's fear of drag queens (or, as they're known in the story, okama) has a pretty good reason. He literally spent two years trapped with hundreds of them on an island that were each stronger than he was. They would constantly chase him down and try to forcefem him, all day long, all night long, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, for two years. Having to constantly fend for his life and masculinity without rest or recuperation for years on end with give some PTSD, all right. Although it is one of the reasons his Observation Haki is so strong, and he certainly came out much more powerful at the end.

the mark on neji's forehead was canon, it's a seal called the "caged bird seal" it's used by the hyuga clan in order to protect their special eyes (the byakugan) so people can't just pluck the eyes from a dead hyuga killed on the battle field, and implant them in an enemy. members of the clan's main house would brand members of the clan's branch houses with the seal so that, when they die, their Byakugan will be sealed away, preventing its secrets from being learned by enemies. The cursed seal can also be used by the main house to discipline branch house members: if a main house member uses a special hand seal, the branch house member will experience intense pain, discouraging them from disobeying the main house again. If the pain is great enough, it can even kill the branch house member, destroying their brain cells. Basically like a slave seal that both punishes disobedience, and keeps their secrets safe. Also if I remember right in the manga it looked a lot more like a certain WWII symbol.

Age 21 Bday is March 2nd(today) Both eyes have never been shown in the manga or anime at once Is always linked to the number 3 His og design had him as a dark haired gunslinger His favourite cigarette brands are King ground and death If Sanji was president he would pass laws that would favor women and discriminate against men If the Straw Hats were a family, he would be the second son Sanjis fav food is spicy seafood pasta and anything that goes with black tea He has never been sick Zoro has never called him by his real name He is part of the straw hats monster trio( fanmade term for the 3 strongest crew members) behind Zoro and Luffy Hes scared of bugs Is the only member of his siblings to inherit their parents natural blonde hair If one piece was in real life, Sanji would be from france If not a pirate he would be a beauty salon worker He typically sleeps between 12 am and 5 am His eyebrows are derived from Odas signature and they curl asymetrically Favourite thing to cook is seafood Death Notes creator, drew Sanji in his own artstyle And finnally: Sanji hates feeling hungry which is why he smokes all the time, that and he thinks smoking makes him more attractive to the ladies.

by the way, the symbol on neji's forehead is a seal that marks him as a member of a branch house of the hyuga family, makes it so the main branch can use a handsign to cause immense pain to him, and when he dies, it'll seal away his byakkugan (basically eyes that let you see in a near 360 degree view around you, and see chakra)

Luffy, Zoro, and Sanji are called the "Monster Trio", and since this death battle, they've each gotten honestly scarry power ups. I'll be vague, but I will still allude to potential spoilers, you have been warned. Sanji- Gotten an inhuman body, which allows him to use hotter flames on his leg, as well as more armament haki. He's also so fast, his opponent mistook him for going invisible. Luffy- Has learned a Haki technique used by the greatest pirates of all time, the Yonko, meaning: Emperor of the Sea. 1 of those Yonko, named Kaido, even compared Luffy to previous Yonko, that Kaido has immense respect for. Zoro- Gotten his strongest sword yet, and learned the same haki technique Luffy did, but to a lesser extent. Then managed to beat someone, who's race could thrive in any environment. As in, this race was thought be a literal race of gods. Yet Zoro still cut his opponent down.

I'm glad you're starting to catch up especially with season 9 starting in a couple weeks.

In the latest chapter of one piece, Sanji's power increased a lot because of his exo skeleton. So Sanji is definitely the winner here and one piece is not even done. So we can't still say that sanji is on his limit right now. And I think in the one piece world, the age 60 is where a person is at his strongest. Correct me If I'm wrong.

Many people always talk about how much stronger attacks many other shonen anime charecters can do like Naruto compear to One piece, but One Piece charecters are some of the tankiest, like how Usopp who is suppose to be just a normal human in early One Piece took 4 ton iron bat straight to face and he was all heald up in couple of days. Thats just shows how much damage even some of the normal people of One Piece world can take, not to mention people who are strong as or stronger than Luffy, Zoro and Sanji

Just one correction, sanji also has his familly genetical powers it was just sleeping (in his last battle it awakened, is skin became strong enought to break a big Steel sword without haki hardening , he survived having his body crushed and even all of his bones wich were shatered mended themselves in mere seconds)

Yep, next Season is Season 8, which is the 10 year anniversary season of Death Battle. Honestly it’s my favorite season so far. There are so many amazing episodes.

since this db, sanji's germa genes have been activating so now he has much more durability, tanking a hit from Queen, one of Kaido's top pirates with no difficulty

Think of Sanji like Brock from Pokemon. They're both chefs who look out for their traveling companions & always make sure they have plenty to eat. They're also both extremely love sick for any pretty girl they meet & often have to be smacked & dragged away.

Hunk vs Broly is amazing but I can't WAIT for you to get to the next season. It is probably the most consistently amazing season they've had to date, with one of the best openers AND finishers the show has ever seen. It's absolutely fantastic. Also god DAMN the music is amazing too

Kind of in the same sense for the Spider Sense from the Spiderman series: i honestly think the ability of Haki from One Piece, especially from fighters who have trained and hone that power could really fight with the best fighters in most other series.... maybe not not DBZ but still.

fun fact: sanji is one of the top fighters of the straw hats. his, luffy's and zoro's combat power to so damn big compared to the other straw hats, they have been dubbed "the monster trio". although, that title might have shifted, due to recent additions to the crew.

@@theduckgoesmoo I think TFS has this claim system in place so that not just someone downloads the DBZA episodes and then uploads them to their own channel as a little safeguard but sometimes it helps to resolve things like claims by just contacting the content creator and if you get a from creator no as an answer you get at least in the clear :)

Some of the reasons why so many videos don't talk about Sanji when One Piece is talked about is because of the following: - his 'true' backstory doesn't get revealed until like episode 800 or so. - you can't talk about the subtle hints at his character from the tidbits throughout the series without talking about his 'true' backstory. - his abilities are "standard" compared to the abnormal skills that are prevalent in the series. - any talk of his attacks are generally dealing with the French used for his attack names. - the flame wars of Sanji vs Zoro that ignite from talking about one instead of the other.

I don't blame you for the reaction at all, since you haven't watched Naruto, but I do find it very silly that lots of people who do know Naruto have reacted to Guy and Lee's Death Battle appearances with confusion over Guy going straight to the Sixth Gate and Lee going straight to the Fifth Gate, when that is how the two of them fight in the vast majority of their appearances in the story. On the other hand the fact that Death Battle and most of the fandom consider the Eighth Gate a win despite it killing the user shouldn't really be a surprise, considering they made that very clear in All Might vs Might Guy (although they did also rightfully mention in that that Guy didn't need the Eighth Gate to beat All Might) This is another one that was right when it came out, but just like with Sasuke vs Hiei, the Boruto series shortly after made it so that Lee reached Petatons in his lower forms, which was all he needed to beat Sanji. So despite Sanji being my preferred character by a lot, this result has sadly become wrong over time. But hey, that's what happens with stuff like this, vs episodes are simply a moment in time when you're dealing with shows that keep going

Well they admit themselves since the laser EXPLODES it's not provably LIGHT speed. It's more likely a generic energy attack and they can move at any number of speeds. They also say Naruto "barely" dodged Madara's light speed attack, but that's not true at all. He dodged it easily then kicked him in the face very casually. Then he slapped him with a big lava bomb.

I know you usually keep a reaction schedule. However, I seriously think you should try moving things around and reacting to Hulk vs Broly as soon as possible. In my opinion, it’s in contention for being one of the greatest Death Battles PERIOD. Even the finale of the NEXT season has to compete with it in many aspects.

Sanji is even stronger now and well... spoilers for power up he did awake those genetics so he dose have extra abilities like an exoskeleton that is bullet proof

I never heard of him before, but the dude's got has over 5 million subscribers, so what do I know? *Another fun fact:* Sanji learned how to run on the air in a desperate attempt to keep those drag queen martial artists from making him wear a dress. One Piece gets weird sometimes.

They made it complicated because they relied on an non-canon showing for speed. But, the result is ok At least by the time the episode aired

Naruto is still ongoing with boruto in fact it’s close to one piece with 945 episodes while one piece is on 1013 episodes. Now the crazy part is in 945 episodes naruto world generated 54 mc characters while in one piece 1013 episodes gets us 1096 characters 😵‍💫more than Pokémon which is Round 800+ What does this tell u that one piece focuses on world building and naruto focuses one characters

Although I am not sure whether Sanji would have won a year ago coz 8 gates is cracked, now Sanji is borderline busted.

Another Death Battle in which i don't agree very much. I know that Rock Lee never became as powerful as Gai, but even so him being able to access the Eight Gate it's not just a Strength and Speed super-boost but also a durability boost, while he is the eight or even the seventh gate Sanji's attacks can't really do much damage to Lee, not even with his suit on. And besides, even if Sanji's speed is incredible, i doubt that he could do much against characters that with the eight gate activated are able to BEND REALITY itself with just their speed and Strength. Even with his advanced Observation Haki i doubt that Sanji could react fast enough to avoid THAT. And yes, i know that Lee would die immediately after using the Eight Gate... BUT.... If we are comparing the Maximum Capacity and Power of both characters.... Then i must say that FOR NOW i still consider Lee superior.

So a few things, the 8th gate is strong but sanji's strength is on a whole different level as well as his speed. Hell if we redid this battle, lee ain't winning this big time due to his enhancements. But all of this means nothing if you can turn invisible and have prcognition

I really think you should react to one piece. It’s my favorite anime, so I’m a bit biased, but I think it’s an amazing world to get immersed into.

Sanji just has to use the Cape to stop Lee attacks 😒 Will not even lose a foot

And Sanji has only gotten stronger since this death battle

I love sanji so much he is easily my favorite character behind Luffy himself

Sanji does punch someone at one point, it showed how truly upset he was at the time. I do not remember which episode or what set him off because there are over 1000 episodes.

@@theduckgoesmoo yeah. also you might be able to get away with reacting to one piece if you cover like 90% of the screen with your face cam. I've been watching someone who does something similar with a filter.

Duck, Guy and Lee aren't related. They don't share any genetics. It's just a student that admires his teacher to an insane degree. Also that thing on Nejis forehead was a type of curse mark that if he did anything that went against the head family, (because he's part of the side family) it would scrabble his brain and kill him.

I'm pretty sure sanjis original name was supposed to be naruto

The San in Sanji literally means 3.

I do not recommend watching a review on one piece because it will spoil a lot in the fact that they kind of have to summarize 1000 episodes in 2 to 3 hours. The show also have around 1000 named characters. And there’s only a couple of arcs that have very little to do with the story but even some of the worst arcs such as the ark we’re chopper the deer joins the crew have some of the most emotional well done moments in one piece.

Please react to the subbed version, the characters voices are better and actually suite the character. for example dub luffy sounds like he smoked 50 packs of cigarettes while the Sub is youthful and playful, also deeper when serious. I realize the whole its easier for reaction vids is a whole thing but for a first reaction sub should be the first introduction to a series as successful as one piece. Sorry if I sounded too harsh, personally that's how I start a new anime, subbed all the way through first go, then Dubbed and then decide which way I think suites the characters more for the 3rd 4th etc. watch through.

Yeah~ not to spoil more but let's just say Sanji hits harder, faster and can tank hits like a champ now compared to this version. Trust me when i say Lee had no chance in this fight.
