USA must be mad to imagine it could stop china progress. Just by population size alone, china has many more geniuses, scientists, researchers, engineers etc, invest more in R&D, has better government support, bigger market and a culture of diligence/discipline entirely lacking in the USA. Plus China has reached a critical mass to power its own rapid progress. Cheers.

Five thousand years ago, we Chinese faced floods like Egyptians and we tamed the Yellow River. Four thousand years ago, we were playing with bronzes like the Babylonia and we forged the most beautiful bronze sword which withstand the test of time. Three thousand years ago, we thought about philosophy as much as the Greeks and we were all united by Taoism. Two thousand years ago, we fought like Romans and counltess cities were destroyed and rebuilt A thousand years ago, we were as rich as the Arabs and we sent our mighty Fleet across the known sea And now we're competing with the Americans We've been at the world table for five thousand years, but our opponents have changed several rounds.

It was cheaper for China to buy reliable Western chips, benefiting both sides. China spends more on chip imports than on oil. The "Made in China 2025" initiative provided substantial funds for chip development, but companies were hesitant due to technical challenges and the risk of competing with established players like Intel, Samsung, and TSMC. With US sanctions, China shifted focus, prompting the emergence of new chip research companies and increased government subsidies, making domestic chip development a top priority for Chinese research institutions. When self-sufficient, China can provide the world with cheaper chips, while the West and its allies lose access to both the Chinese and global markets. The US is developing its own supply chain, but without access to a large market, it cannot be competitive. The US is leaving no knees untouched in its Tonya Harding competition strategy. The Chinese are very grateful to the US for pushing them towards self-sufficiency. Thanks to the US, China now has its own GPS system and space program. More sanctions, please. China is researching a 75-meter-radius SSMB (Steady-State Microbunching) particle accelerator to provide 1KW continuous, pure EUV light sources for multiple lithography machines, enabling the production of chips with a process size of less than 2nm and beyond.

The U.S. political system is no longer a functioning democracy, that it has fallen short in the world. Moreover, the U.S. lacks the brainpower to compete, that education in this country is controlled far too much by the far-right Christian nationalist hominids, who lust for a Trump led dictatorship. Democracy can only in nations that have educated citizens, and that is no longer America, not with millions of school children who are cell phone zombies, just like their teachers who obsessively check their cell phones for messages, too! American schools are for warehousing incorrigible brats, whose parents are to burned out, or stoned, to give a damn for their little nose-picking accidents, a result of doing the dirty without protection. Or just plain animal breeding instinct, fueled by alcohol and dope.

He said instead of dragging China down the US should use what it has for a healthy competition. The reality is no single Western country today can equally compete with China or even India and even growing larger African countries in the near future, these Western countries do not have what it takes to drive the competition. We know the history of Imperialism and colonial benefits for Western industrialization, and that was when the West has a significant population as a labor force, not anymore. And throughout history no single empire or civilization ever admit its time is up, down to the last minute. For the entire Western Europe to be able to be competitive in the future they'd need to merge as a single country and either integrate with the world as equals with equality of opportunities or die out.

Exactly right, by trying to contain China the usa is losing precious time and money to develop herself to compete. China is developing herself rapidly in practically all fronts from technology to economy while the usa is losing her hegemony in the world as well as her technological prowess and social economic cohesion in her fragile society.
