because he didn't play the politics of the business..so they don't revere him like those who have..but he's go it..I knew it the day I heard If You Let Me Stay..this was a special character..he was that great especially vocals..

Had the pleasure to see him live on the same tour as this. I'd listened to him for years and really rated his work, always original and incredibly creative. His show was around 3.5 hours live, no support and everything was flawless throughout - his voice, costume changes and showmanship. Absolutely amazing voice and his writing and meter are superb, still stays with me to this day. Sadly missed as a genuine artist.

There are *MANY* reasons why a singer may not find grand success: _The label, the singer’s work ethic, song quality, what’s trendy, money, family, drama, health, luck, etc..._ There are millions of amazing singers out there. Some get stuck on step 1, some on step 1,001. It’s the ones that know when they’re stuck, the ones that always find a way out, the ones that preserve, no matter the cost - those are the few that make it :)

Yeah, the D'Arby songs and style would dominate the pop music world if they'd come out within the past 15 years instead of 25+ years ago. Everything Bruno Mars wants to do style-wise, yet falls short of, D'Arby had down like it was nothing.

his voice is amazing and one of the few that still sounds as great today as he did back then... he didn't play the the rules and he was no puppet and payed the price but freedom and peace of mind is better than any dollar ...

Wow, that little man has a powerful voice. That is nothing but a gift from God. You're either born with that, or you're not. That's not something that can be taught. Just amazing he was.

Love how he changed his vocal phrasing from how it was on the original version. That's what true artists do. Take one of their songs everyone is familiar with, change the tempo, the vocals or whatever, and breathe new life into it and make it sound even better.

This entire concert is pure magic... I went to this tour and it's one of the last truely great live gigs I ever went to.... Makes me feel kind of sad really... I also agree with aprilneo that he is one of the best live performers out there.....

I be tripping my homeboys out when after I play dr.dre and other rap music I pop in Terrence trent d'arby they have this look on their face like what the hell?but I know good music man.

This is what music is all about. He was just phenomenal. Back when live shows meant something and there was no autotune, making people lazy. An incredible poet and an amazingly spiritual soul.

He was so far ahead of his time. Very talented man, with one hell of a voice.

Aw My Gawd.....just re-found this bloke and realised that this gig is 20yrs old!! My god it was worth looking for. His look. His voice. I agree with others: why was he not so much bigger that this? But would too much exposure/fame have completely F'd him up? I think 'killing' off TTD was as nuts as he needed to go! He looked great live. Just can't get over how good his voice is.
