@@nonebusiness7723 It's a reference to something you can do in Half-Life 1. If were to interact with a mircrowave enough, it would make it's contents blow up out of the container. A frusterated scientist (named dr.magnusson, If I remember) would scold you on it doing so because you made it happen. In Half-Life 2 Episode 2, he would comment that if you were to save the main base from a massive invasion from the bad guys, he would "forgive you for a certain diabolic, Involving a certain microwaved casserole." What's it got to do with it? Well, The model for the scientist is dr.magnusson himself. It complex, but I can go into further detail if needed.

I can imagine Doom Slayer walking through the survivor camp, when a small child, ignoring horrified looks of adults, running towards the Slayer and asking him to sign the birthday card - maybe, the last one in the entire life. Doom Slayer looks at the kid and card, then looks around, notices, that blade on his Praetor Suit is still dripping with blood, removes it, grabs it like an oversized pen and starts writing in the D'Nurian (in the best calligraphy possible): _"Dear__"_ Looks at the kid, who instantly understands him and replies "Alex!" Doom Slayer nods and resumes writing: _"Dear Alex,_ _As a survivor of the Argent D'Nur, I wish you a happy birthday, a clear sky above your head and a world, where the Hell and demons have no places at all!_ _May your life be long and happy and may your never need to rip and tear huge demonic guts!_ _Best wishes,_ _Doom Slayer."_ After he is finished, he gives the card to the kid, who does not understand a thing, but is happy anyway, makes "Ain't that just cute?" gesture, then places the blade back on the suit and resumes his walk.

Just stagger them with the Super Shotgun then immediately switch to Ballista. Makes them the easiest super-heavy to kill once you get the hang of it - you’ll kill the first one in less than 30 seconds.

@@bruh6664 you can just swap to super shotgun and balista once. Do some training shooting, tapping weapon swap Button (on Xbox it's RB), swap again, shoot again, repeat. It's a bit tricky, but with some training you will be kicking his ass soon.

This kind of aged poorly with what Doom Eternal did with Samuel Hayden, but this is still gold.

Dr. Hayden would not harm anyone. He's the good guy. He has the entire board basically under his thumb anyway, and nobody else has the genius required to fix or salvage a situation that's turned out so disastrously. Look at the Mars incident. Dr. Hayden's last resort contingency plan managed to kill all the demons and Possessed, shut off the Lazarus Hell Wave, kill Dr. Pierce, and most significantly of all, aquire the Crucible and the power of the Well within it. He turned a potential apocalyptic disaster into a series of relatively minor setbacks.

He is not a full robot. He has peices of of brain in his new body. His brain peices are kept alive with stem cells. He is 130 years old in his new body, plus however old he was prefor the surgery. He had the surgery after being diagnosed with stage 4 brain cancer, and only had months to live.

I find it hilarious how this positions Hayden when in the actual game two years later it was revealed he spent his time building a fuck you sized gun and an even bigger army to fight the demons.

He's upset because the longer the Icon of Sin is on Earth the stronger it will become.

Somehow this tied in with most of the given lore in DOOM Eternal correctly, *nearly 2 years before release.*

We don't know what happened to the rest of the UAC, but the logs did state that Hayden made their resources accesible to the Allied Nations and ARC, so chances are the part of UAC he had control of just got absorbed by them. (the ARC, not the occult)

Stripe [Lore Spoilers for Eternal] Apparently the Hell Priests (mainly the one with the dome helmet) helped Olivia with starting the first invasion, so after she died, they fully corrupted most of UAC to become cultists and helped trigger the 2nd invasion. Hayden however was still MIA till he resurfaced months after the Earth invasion was already underway, and when he did return, he brought with him the Hell Crucible and the means to create a synthetic version of Argent energy, free from hell’s influence. Was a jab in the arm Humanity needed, but we were still getting our asses handed to us till the Slayer showed up.

I gotta ask how desperate for energy are they to be spoon feed the propaganda that the demons aren't a threat and what just happened isn't means to cease action and fire Hayden. like I know some of them worship demons but Hayden's robotic head would be on a pike within 24 hours of the footage. Also why did he need to move to earth? why not keep open hell portals on mars where theres less people and less damage they can do?

There's no idea too stupid for corporations to take seriously as long as the right salesman or consultant is pushing it. One major flaw I've seen repeatedly when it comes to management is what I call "pros column only" decision making. Rather than listing the pros and cons and then weighing them against each other, they only pay attention to the pros and rationalize away the cons, especially if the downsides only affect someone else. Anyone who starts looking at the cons is just being too negative and not a supportive team player. I watched one of my supervisors get his ass chewed in those literal terms because he told management exactly why their plan wouldn't work. He was right. It failed.

Herb Derbler This. Samuel is stated to be the most brilliant mind on Earth and possibly the DOOM universe, it wouldn't be hard for him to convince the chairmen that his solution would flawless. Hell! He fooled the Doom Slayer to the end, despite "loosing" the Argent cashes in the process! No, this guy is just toying with every faction in the game and I have the feeling he will end up being the biggest threat in the games.

Sitting Pyro They’re extremely desperate, there was a huge energy crisis before Argent energy was found. The people probably know the UAC people are talking out of their ass, but they can’t do anything cause they’re too powerful and they really need the energy. The UAC Argent energy facility on Mars was destroyed, and I’m assuming it would cost too much to rebuild on Mars, not to mention no one would ever want to go there again.

To be fair to Sam there isn't much work he can find, I don't think he'll meet most regulations due to his size and being...well, a robot. I can't see him getting a job as a banker or a plumber. Partly because the Earth has been raped to Hell BY Hell but that's besides the point.

I can just imagine the Doom Slayer walking in at the moment Sam starts crying and just sit there like "This is getting interesting~".

I like that they sought refuge on Venus. A planet that is literally hell, just without the demons. They need to just replace him with VEGA. He's literally HAL 9000, if HAL never went rogue and turned out to be a pretty chill dude.

This is funny, on the side note, I don't think Samuel is the one who caused this, remember that Olivia had her splinter-cell group of people who helped her. Probably what ever remained caused the events of Eternal.

But Dr. Hayden did nothing wrong. He's the hero. Doomguy is just a force of destruction who doesn't care if humanity lives or dies as long as the demons die.

Do you realise the utter devestation that would have occurred without Argent Energy? Its discovery saved humanity from annihilation, a global war over what scarce resources were left. felynecomrade On the contrary I’d say Doomguy is the hero here. He knows messing with hell is a bad idea, and he tried to put an end to the carnage. Hayden’s misguided, he wants to help humanity, but he doesn’t realize they’d be better off leaving hell the hell alone. Think about it, over both games, God knows how many people died as a consequence, and now the Earth’s pretty much destroyed. I think I’d rather have an energy crisis over a literal Hell on Earth, wouldn’t you?

@@Darknessblade4me Actually, in the gameplay, it seems that the people that are just keeping shit working are wondering why the hell their Corporate superiors would want the demons to be let in. If anything, those guys are doing their damnedest to coordinate with the Marines to fight off the invasion.

The impression I get is that most of the UAC are staunchly against the whole thing, but the occult circle led by Olivia Pierce seem to be the ones pulling the strings. Obviously Pierce is probably dead now, but there were likely still a few head honchos from the Lazarus team that got out. Hayden seemed to be opposed to the whole occult thing and was only in it for the energy source, probably his mechanical brain giving him some resistance to demonic influence.

Travis Seagroves did you play the first game? In one of the demonic speeches it said that there would always be treachery and corruption that would allow Hell to conquer new worlds. Doomguy himself was the victim of such corruption!
