I should be able to go screwing around in their swapping this and that... and even break something irreparably if i so choose... I had my screen replaced on my Galaxy A80 a while back, i was wondering if its just my screen protector but it wasn't, i have the exact same issue, though i could get one finger registered after trying it for multiple days of trying with a creme for the hands. Unfortunately i have the newest version so my kernel is version 4 and not 3 so i can't try that one, but i think this happens to all Galaxy phones with an optical sensor. It would be amazing if you could do a community poll, if this also happens to other devices, like the A21,the A80 and so on

Luckily they did with only fingerprint reader. I guess there was hole in the security. Ex: I can use my fingerprint reader to unlock others phone just by swapping the whole reader. So they have done like this. What they should do actually is as soon as the reader is swapped, it should automatically calibrated and erase the users existing fingerprint and can only enter through Pin or password or pattern.

@@iam5566 The knox encryption also considers the hardware. It started to consider it a few years ago. However, we've never seen a complete lock of a specific hardware until now. It makes sense to lock the fingerprint reader because if you manage to insert some sort of backdoor in the hardware you'd be able to access sensitive data. One UI prevents you from accessing data if the fingerprint sensor is changed forcing you to use a password. This behavior as pointed out by him started with more recent updates on the security patch. This is purely speculation of mine tho... Take it with a grain of sault.

true not only for samsung. For example, i had a lenovo laptop. It had "macbook" written all over it, but the particular offender was the charger brick. It is shaped like apple's ones, the shape sucks imo as it tends to block nearby mains sockets. Yet they totally forgot to copy the good stuff - apple's charger have hooks to coil the wire, and a detachable mains plug with standard iec connector underneath, so i can easily fit an extension cable to essentially fix the shape problem... lenovo's one has none of that.

Hey ya'll, If you're a "Samsung Certified" shop or repair center, they give you a special Calibration block to recalibrate the Finger print reader when you put a new screen/fingerprint reader in the A51. Also Samsung gives you special access to software the general public cant use that tests and recalibrates all the phones feature. So repair centers that are "Samsung Certified" don't really have these issues because they equip them with the proper tools/software. The A51 is a more specific repair. You HAVE to use the calibration block tool and software for the Fingerprint reader to work when taking it out or replacing it. Unlike the flagship models that don't need the Block and instead calibrates all in the special software. This in turn makes it more difficult for people/repair shops to repair and replace these issues if Samsung hasn't certified you. Hope this information helps you and others!
