another liar reviewer who only shows the features, for correction this phone has no great display you liar !! u should instead mention the major screen display downgrade on this phone, a lot customer complaints already posted on samsung community forums and until now there is no fix on this bug screen issue , from fake dynamic amoled on paper turned into ordinary oled screen in reality which is not vibrant, lack contrast gamma unsaturated, greenish less sharp crisp , if u are samsung S20U or S21U for sure you will see the big difference those older phones has a better true AMOLED screens deep black vibrant colors, unlike S23U it looks like LG V60 screen OLED, damn samsung has fooled and deceived their customers

I just switched from iPhone 12 , loving it so far , battery is beast . On my iPhone 12 wifi was frequently disconnecting and had weak signal but on my new s23 ultra it never had such issue . Loving s23 ultra 512

I also just switched from an iPhone 12 pro after being with Apple since the iphone 6 I'm loving this s23 ultra. It's screen and battery life are amazing it last all day long on 120hz and qhd. It's an amazing phone all around I would highly recommend it.

Great content. I love my s23 ultra. No bugs, no freezing, n stuttering, battery life has been great. Especially switching from my note20 ultra. It's like night and day. Don't get me wrong, I loved my note, never did me wrong. But there's no comparison.

Leaving the Apple ecosystem is hard but, possible. I too was an Apple fanboy. Until now. I've been using the Samsung S23 Ultra since its release. It's truly the best device out today. Compared to the iPhone 14 Pro Max the S23 Ultra is a workhorse. While the iPhone 14 Pro Max can't keep up. Connectivity is better on the S23 Ultra vs 14 Pro Max cellular, wifi, and bluetooth. I now switching completely over to the Android ecosystem. Good luck, Alex stay with it.

Thank you! I am glad you thougth that too, I really wanted to enjoy the 14 Pro Max. Personally it would make a lot more sense to run everything Apple. But the difference was stark! The S23 Ultra is just a much more stable device. Never seen iOS being so bad when compared to Android like this. iOS always felt very smooth and stable. But I dont know, iOS 16 and the fact I was probably bored with the iPhone in general, just meant the switch was inevitable. Pretty happy right now.

What's the lock screen animation you use? How to get it? The one of the vault opening?

DEX is workable. Seeing myself to end up not needing a laptop in the future because of the feature. Hope they keep on impoving it, really handy just having a flagship phone + a monitor long term.

Do you know the best place to look for deals on the Samsung S23 Ultra and for good storage and when the best time to buy one. I have the iPhone 📱 13 Pro Max and planning my exit.

Nice update. The S23 Ultra is the phone of the year so far. I don’t believe that Apple will make enough changes to the 15 Pro series to surpass the S23 Ultra.

Strong contender for sure. My feeling is that Fold 5 is the only phone that could knock them from top spot right now. 15 Pro will be great but I just don’t see enough in iOS rigth now to make me want to go back…

The battery is as good even though it has 700mah less 😅 all the s23u has on the 14 pro is the crazy zoom.. that is it.

Thank you so much! Yes, I don't like to be tied up to a single brand, I wish we had a universal ecosystem where devices would just work together regardless of brands. I left the Apple ecosystem a long time ago. One thing iPhone users always do when trying Android is expect the stock out of box iphone user experience. First thing on the S23 ultras is to spend a couple of hours customizing your phone. Debloat, Goodlock, Nova Launcher Prime, Navigation/Gestures, shortcuts, button map.

I will say that I have both the iPhone 14 Pro Max and the S23 Ultra, and I seem to get noticeably better service at work with the s23 ultra. I work in a manufacturing plant (essentially a big metal box), and so the service isn't great in it. On the plant floor, I get 2 to 3 bars of 5g and it never drops with the Samsung. With my iPhone, I'd get one bar or the service would drop fairly often, and load times were DEFINITELY noticeably slower on the iPhone. Don't know how or why this was the case, but it's something I noticed and is a big part of why I stopped using my iPhone. I should add- both phones are phenomenal. It's so cool that you really cannot go wrong with either phone anymore. They're both incredibly fast and efficient. iPhones in my opinion are.... "smoother". The animations and flow of the ui make it feel very premium, and it is. The S23 on the other hand is just a powerhouse. I went into the developer options and cut the animation time down to 0.5x, and it just blasts through splash screens and feels so fast. They're both awesome. What a time to be alive.

Great video. I got the S23 Ultra 12/ 512 model two weeks ago and absolutely love it. The cameras are exceptional, the battery life is great but the charging speed is fantastic. I switched from the S20 FE 5G and this is an exceptional upgrade, and nice that Samsung are finally providing the UK and other markets with Snapdragon now instead of Exynos. I would 100% recommend this phone and advise everyone to get a reputable charger and cables so that you can unleash the full charging speed. I have the Ugreen 65w foldable charger with 2 x 2m 100w USB C cables (one for home and one for the car) and it charges so quickly. I also have the 130w car charger which charges two of these at full power. I think the approximate time it takes to charge from 0 - 85% (software lock enabled which I like) is around 40 minutes. It's an excellent phone and I would highly recommend it.

The S23U is basically what the S22U should have been (minus the 200mp, thats kinda a downgrade due to lens sizes). The cameras are sadly showing their age, especially the 3x and 10x optical, which are now about 4 years old and when compared to phones like the Oppo X6 Pro and Xiaomi 13 Ultra you can see how behind the S23U is. Notably, the SD GEN 2 is what makes the phone shine. The camera though after couple of updates went downhill instead of improving. The June update seems to have improved stuff a bit but still not there yet. Luckily we have Gcam APK that makes the camera performance better. Samsung has done a lot of cost cutting this year...they need to include a 1" main sensor and upgrade their optical 3 & 10x lenses

Yeah the S22U was a dud for me. Especially the Exynos variant crap we had here in the UK.. I have to say, the Fold 4 with Snapdragon was already a breath of fresh air and now this is just superb!

I wish I had problems like that but tbh Use the s23 ultra as your main phone because battery life is insane, doesn't heat. For the fold, I don't think it matches s23 battery life.

I’ve always wondered what did Samsung do to a particular segment of individuals and even some KZreadrs to hate their phones. Year in year out; their phones improve a lot, but some people are just determined to think otherwise. I enjoy and I like my iPhone 13 Pro Max, but I fear is nowhere close in the capabilities a Samsung phone like the one Alex is showing here. I mean, fair is fair and credit where is due. Thanks Alex for the great quality video.🤠

had the S23U from release for two months. Switched dumbly back to iPhone 14 because I was getting flack from friends/ family for green bubble group chats (I’m in the US). I’m so tired of Apple, I’m going back. Just ordered my S23U in Red 512gb last night. Coming Friday! See ya, Apple!

@@AlexGTech I was considering one up until I forgotten about the Z Fold 5. It’s a great product, but the software is not ready yet from the things I saw online. And one thing I do is social media and stuff for my daytime job… Twitter (which I spend too much time on) for example is not THAT polished. I’m probably going to wait till Z Fold 5 to make a final decision.

Got the S23U as we were going on a scenic cruise and my IP13PMx just didn’t have the ‘reach’ I’d need - not enough is said about this, it’s a MAJOR failing for me. The S23U was fantastic…even up to 30x on some pics, while the 100x - though not _really_ suitable for pics, it was still like having your own pocketable binoculars with you all the time! iPhone….be gone!

Very true. Always thought it was gimmick, until that moment when you need it and it nails it. I used it yesterday at my son’s Sports day and it made a great shot that I am 100% sure I would have never gotten with the iPhone.

Not wishing to speak for @RedSnappa, but the 13PM is pretty good in my experience. Having said that, nothing comes close to the S23U for me.

I love the theme you found for the Galaxy S 23 ultra. And I think that by the way, it's at Samsung that you find the largest quantity of themes, wallpapers and icons on the smartphone market. and that's nice because you can customize your smartphone without having to go through Nova Launcher for example (something I always do on my smartphones)😅😅

Yes, I find myself using a lot of Samsung Themes instead of using Nova. Samsung's own Good Lock is pretty good for people coming from iOS actually, I found that a nice way to get into customisation...

Already purchased this phone twice and it is definitely not for me!!! It's a great device but the cameras suck. Had to returned my second one for a pixel 7, which in my opinion is a much better phone, might have some compromises but at the end of the day both so the same job while the pixel is taking much better pictures

I do think a lot of that goes on, some more blatant than others. I tried switching before and I know how hard it is. Even right now, there are times when I miss the integration of a single ecosystem. But 99% of the time I'm just happy to use the device I want. Sire, iPhone videos will do better, but I honestly lost interest after the 14PM. Will definitely check the 15 but don't see myself ditching the S23 Ultra for it

I left Apple on my 6s and got my first Samsung, I believe was a Note 10. The only thing I miss is the Apple watch. I have a Galaxy watch but the Apple watch was and I'm guessing, still is a great product. Too bad there isn't any cross platforming available. I've moved up to Fold 4 and haven't loved Galaxy line more.

What editing software do you use? If you don't mind me asking.

Which Cable USB C are you using, it looks really solid quality.

Twitter is definitely better, Instagram kinda but it's pretty decent on OneUI now. But video it will depend. Maybe in low light but standard 4K30 or 4K60 Samsung are actuslly doing great now. @@AlexGTech thanks for your fast replay! Yea heard about the 8k but also I heard that when you post a 8k video as examples on instragram, the quality will get worse. Also that if you sent a video in 8k to someone they can’t see the quality as it’s supposed to be. I don’t know if you used an iPhone before. In comparison for camera/ video/ Instagram (posting pictures and videos) which phone would recommend? Thankyou for the link, the video looks great! does 8k take up more memory/ battery life?

I hear what you say and I am nearly in the same boat. I said to myself never will buy the s23 ultra. Then one day I hit my head accidentally against a wall and to compensate I purchased a s23 ultra. I am having problem going back to my iPhone 14 pro/ 13 mini. Sold my Apple Watch ultra, maybe will just keep the 13 mini my iPad Pro and MacBook Air M2. I cannot see me going back to iPhone so soon.

What a nice video as always!! I also recently switched from my 13PM to a S23 Ultra, to replace my „Apple-habbits“. 2 months later - what can I say…. The s23 Ultra is by far better than my 13PM, but i‘m starting to miss my 13PM. Syncing my photos with my mac and Face ID is still somewhat better. It‘s the little things that make iOS or an iPhone in general great. Still don‘t know what to do with these 2 phones, it‘s difficult.

Thank you! I know your pain... Definitely not easy to fully switch. I find using Google services made the transition easier, but I still struggle with lots of Airtags, sometimes needing a quick Airdrop, etc... but the compromises have been well worth it for me!

As usual, this is a great video. I've been watching your videos since the early days and I hope you'll keep up with high quality tech videos! I've been using my Flip 4 since last August and am a bit undecided if I should go for the Ultra or Flip 5. I thought about the Google Pixel Fold but given what I've head lately about the phones, I'll give it a pass for Google this year. Anyways, gotta see the launch of Flip 5 soon and decide. I hope the price will drop for the S23 series after the launch of the new Z series.

Well love my pixel 7 pro... Coming from s23... The cameras are just not there, samsung needs to work on shutter speed and that softening of skin tones .. Just doesn't work for me...

Definitely I great phone, for me though the big slab phones are too big. The iPhone pro max, the Ultra and the Fold...All entirely to big to want to carry around. I also think that you lose productivity due to constant distraction of seeing all your apps vying for your attention every time you get a notification. I think the Flip form factor is really the best innovation in smart phones today. Limited distraction by using the new improved cover screen and its easy to fit in the pocket

I'm planning on upgrading from my a02s to the s23 ultra, before the a02s i had an a20s but the a02s was more of a downgrade lmao. I was just looking for a new phone with good performance and battery life, but i hadn't done any research on what to get so i ended up with a phone with good battery life but not so good performance. My a20s was my very first samsung phone (i am still quite young) and i grew up using 2 different samsung tablets at different ages (not sure what models though) and my first and second phones were BLU phones lol. Back to my a20s, it had broke recently due to guam's island wide power outage for almost a month and i hadnt charged it almost the entire time so its battery had given up on me and its battery was already quite bad due to me playing with my friends while charging it. I am very excited to get the s23 ultra, it'll be my first s series and flagship phone, recently i havent been able to play with my friends as much cause of my a20s breaking and was very slow at charging and my a02s crashes incredibly easy and cannot handle even simple games like roblox for atleast an hour 💀. (Sorry for my lack of capitalization and improper puncutation or whatelse I had messed up)

I just click on the notification in the Lock Screen which expands the text, and then I hit reply. I use this mostly with Telegram though…

❤ Honest Preview. I love my S23 Ultra Skyblue 1tb very much, this year Samsung made huge change to this flagship S23 ultra interm of Performance and Battery Life, I completely satisfied. Remember that I told you I will switch to Iphone 14 promax after huge dispointed of s22 ultra snapg1. Then after watching your previous video about S23 Ultra, I choose to stay with Samsung, this time I have no regrets.

Very honest review Alex, I like that of your reviews, a lot. Same experience here, but in my case I have a 13 Pro Max, before that I had the S21 Ultra. Will see.

I think Apple did amazing in other areas like the camera for video, but for the first time I don’t feel like I “need” an iPhone for top quality videos. And for everything else, like the display, multitasking, battery… yeah and call quality! Samsung are smashing it!

I too was heavily embedded in the apple ecosystem and tried eatlierbin the year to switch to the s23 ultra. After a couple of weks i returned it and went back to my iphone 12 pro max. But i still wanted the s23 ultra. So i watched your videos and decided to again try to make the switch. This time i traded my iphone and watch to essentially force myself to give 100% effort to switching. The result is that while i miss a few things (imessage, facetime, etc.) the pros of the s23 ultra are much greater than the cons. The device is amazing. The hardware is top notch and on par or exceeds Apple as far as i can tell. I was one of those that switched phones every year to the latest and greatest iphone model; but frankly, there has not been a compelling reason to upgrade from my 12 to the newer models and even the 15 doesn't have that "wow" factor for me. Samsung nailed it with this phone.

After wasting a ridiculous amount of money on flagship phones, i've realized that i can go with a non flagship phone from apple (currently using iphone 14 pro max) and i will be more than fine while using the rest of the ecosystem. Why? Cuz their non pro models are doing everything just fine especially on point and shoot photos and social media(which 90% of population care about). But i cant be that confident with an non flagship android

I think it really depends on the brand but I never tried anything other than flagship Android phones. As Joseph mentiones below, the Pixel seems very popular. I have the Pixel 6 Pro and 7 Pro myself but they seem pretty solid, in the non-pro models.

SS is only company that has fab and fabless that can manufacture 3nano meter chipset in the world. #1 in DRAM, makes its own isocell, dispaly, battery(sdi), and AP. Thants only within its electronic unit. Has 20more business units and all top 15 within their industry. Also, announced yesterday that they will shift into discover pim-hbm(ai chips) that are 30times faster than cpu😊. Apple buys all their parts and assemble. Zero tech but software is good. 😅

They are going back for sure. SS is a hardware tech company. Chipsets require good architecture in order to be successful which they are relatively new. And they just released world's first 3nano chips with GAA which TSMC seems to be struggling and lost making trasition from finfet. Thats why apple is using a16 on 15models. And not sure a17 is going to be on nano4 or 3. There are all kinds of rumors. Also hearing exynos2400 with nano3 has massive gains so will see🫡

I thank you for saying what I've been saying for Years. Most KZreadrs don't talk about what Samsung can do until apple copy it, they are scared of saying the truth about all those companies.

Thank you! I really find that weird but I understand that some of those massive channels grow through Apple videos. I will definitely review Apple products too, but I think credit needs to be given when brands deliver such quality. They really smashed it with this one!

ive used android my entire life and I got an iphone 14 pro max 3 months ago and this thing is driving absolutely insane and I wish I upgraded to the galaxy s23 ultra.

Dex is cool but not needed for me i have a comuter at home. Stiil gona get me a fold 5 to go along with my airpad 3

This typically first one devices that after charging limited to 85% in battery protection mode on , keep me delivering astonishing battery life for whole day till bed time with 20 to 30 percent left. This is true for both my S23 and S 23 ultra.

Jumping from apple to go to Samsung is a very weird move.... It's like jumping from to much energy drink to to much sugar coffee... Both are control freak, both are very bad with repair, both are taking away feature and making the price go up, both have bad privacy policy (but apple keep the data to themself exclusively) ... one walled garden to another, i'm confused.

I have the s23 ultra and it's leaps and bounds better than the 13 pro I used to have. That being said, the slow suttler speed is a HUGE letdown for me. It is impossible to take a decent photo of my always moving son, while my wife nails it every single time with the iphone

@AlexGTech Your boy is a little older. He can stay still for a photo, no problem. Mine is 1 year old, and I can't make him focus on the camera for more than .3 seconds 🤣. Then he faces somewhere else and everything gets blurry 😅

Brother honestly try to transition yourself or at least at a percentage mainly to Samsung ecosystem. Especially since you use the s8u tab you will see many similarities to the apple one. Honestly wait to see the galaxy unpacking for the s9u tab and zf5 and then you better reconsider in which side you will be more in to it. Especially since sam is launching the watch also. I agree that the S22U was a disappointment especially if you got a bad Exynos chip which I did. The improvement over that, which is the S23U has little to do with Samsung, quite the contrary, they switched from Samsung-made chips to TSMC-made SoCs. Why are Samsung channels praising that? The improved performance and efficiency is across the board of all SD8G2 chips and def not Samsung-inspired, unless Qualcomm sacking Samsung Fabs is inspired! Anyway, the short version is there are good reasons the S23U does not get OTT praise, and that is because it is not a Samsung improvement. The rest of the S23U is much of what we have seen before, the s-pen (love it or don't care), DeX which has a very low uptake, and the usual kitchen sink mentality of throwing everything at it in the hope you can please someone. The displays are no longer even the best, the modem is the omnipresent X70, RAM and such-like are all seen in other 2023 flagships. The cameras are mainly the same, UW, 3X and 10X are all old stock, and the 200mp...I am not sure that chasing more mp is where we should be going as they do not add much value. Then factor in the £1400 cost for the 12GB model and although a very good phone it is nothing above the crowd for most (if the s-pen and/or 10X zoom are not important). Nothing revolutionary, just a much needed move from sub-par Samsung-made chips and a hefty price tag. Samsung fans will love it but for the rest of us, I do not see the S23U as a good reason to choose over the upcoming iPhone 15PM or the Xiaomi 13U, or even the much better value Pixels. Samsung seems to be on auto-cruise and they may need to start upping their game.

I just hope Samsung never go back to that Exynos crap again. I think this phone will eventually get a lot of praise in those December “phone of the year videos” I don’t know, I was honestly shocked at how good this phone is in every aspect and how little maintenance it’s been. I only had the 14 Pro Max to compare against and I don’t miss it at all. Recently I don’t even know where I put the 13 Mini so I think it’s saying a lot that the experience this phone is giving me, is making me *almost* forget the Apple the ecosystem. And the 200MP is mostly not used, until that moment when you really need some extra pixels. I actually used that yesterday at my son’s sports day. It saved a picture that would have been forgotten to something I could actually crop in and enjoy. Rare moments for sure, and that goes for the Expert RAW or ProRes on iPhones, but I am glad they are there when needed.

I just switched to the s23u from apple (life long apple user) and I love the ultra so much. It’s been a breath of fresh air.

I’m not sure about the s pen I hardly ever used it. I also got bored with it after a while. Camera is good and iPhone pro max is just as good or better.

I looked my 22 ultra my son has it now I got the 23 but both are great phones but I had snapdragon version

Camera ufff, I am good at taking photos I take very good natural bokeh photos with the 200 mega picel cam and holy shit !! Natural portrait photo without AI involvement from a fuckin phone ?!?!?!?! @AlexGTech My s22 was base model snap dragon, and It was heating 59 degrees in my pocket 12 pm and it's hot and sunny here And if I am at home and I use it for 1 hour ,it will be 48. Now my s23 ultra is always 33 or 28 Bo matter what happens Even in sunlight 12 pm xD I was sad tbh, I hate iPhones but I was thinking of buying an iPhone to solve the heating issue but my saviour s23 ultra, I knew about it from your videos ^^
