Samsung Galaxy A53 5G Review: What's the Catch?
Ғылым және технология
The Galaxy A53 5G is the successor to the wildly popular Galaxy A52. With a new Exynos processor, a larger battery, and improvements to camera processing, is the A53 worth it?

For the price, this phone is amazing. I feel like this is a phone for most people. Most people don't need or use all the features of a high end phone.

I don't usually leave reviews for anybody on any platform but I wanted to thank you for your great information. My budget would only allow for this phone and I really appreciated your info on the headphone jack removable and what to purchase to adapt my Beats headphones to. I had not even noticed it since I just purchased the phone today and I'm old school and like headphones. I had to go back and hear what you said and I immediately purchased the adapter. Manual can be downloaded at Samsung's website (HTML or PDF), although many of the "tips and tricks" videos here on YT actually do a better job of explaining many of the features (like this one, thankfully).
I recently purchased an A53 and I love it. I'm 77 years old so a micro second lave here and there does not affect me at all. Love the camera. A lot better than my A51.
Had my A53 a few days now...giant upgrade from my A51. Very happy with this phone.

So about 2% per hour of use. On days where I've watched or listened to several hours of video/music, downloaded several GB of files, played with the apps/settings, it can get down to 1-1/2 days or so. I have always loved Samsung devices. But they took away the headphone jack? Doesn't make sense, a lot of us use that. Surprised they ditched such a standard feature, now we have to get a USB-C adapter just to plug in a headset. Other than that inconvenient omission, this phone is beautiful. It offers high quality features, some of which are only found in their top-tier models. This cell is definitely a keeper, especially for the price.

Completely agree, especially for the fact that I don't understand much about performances and stuff, I could easily understand the message.
For what I use my phone. This should be more than enough. Sure I wish it had better stabilizer for the video, but I can live with it. I don't take videos all that often. I don't game on a phone and if I did it would be those really simple games a phone from 5 years ago could still play with ease. I game on PC. So it's just texting, occasional phone call and web surfing and videos for me. I only use my phones for necessity anything more advanced I do on my PC with real performance. So why would I waste money getting a flagship. The real big bonus with this phone is 4 full years of software upgrades. Not just "security updates". But full Android OS upgrades.
Galaxy A53 once again delights us with a great FeatureSet, Samsung Cinematography/Photography & NightMode is "Crushing the competition" . Awesome video!

The camera(s) are great and performance is more than good enough for me and it feels like a really well made phone too, the plastic back has a premium feel to it. I share the same opinion. I was eyeing S22 at first and also iPhone 12. I bought this phone yesterday due to my previous galaxy note 9 has a bit issue of battery charger which was started taking longer for recharge. Also lose connection whilst I used Android auto. Hopefully it wouldn't be worsen in the future. Let's see how it goes then

I love this phone so much the price point was perfect it's fast smooth just like Samsung does it! has a 4 year Samsung update so it will always be to date, amazing product
I'm loving my A53 = double the battery life 1/2 the price of S22, the only thing is no wireless charging so I had to add external between the silicon case and the phone. So Who gives a dam about a glass back feel when we all put them in protection cases? PS I'm not a gamer so this phone is perfect for me as it does great photos for social media sites or viewing social media sites. Excellent recommend - very happy with my Australian E version made in Vietnam and the quality is very good. Only cable in box is USBC to USBC so recommend buying seperate USB to USB-C and using your old charger !

Just picked this phone up in 10/22. Got if for $340 at Best Buy (they price matched the Samsung Sale price on Samsungs website). It's a solid phone for that money. I got a beetle case for it, and that made it perfect. In 'naked' form, the phone is slippery to hold, and it feels like it might break if you sat on it. With the case, it feels bulletproof, and not slippery at all. Perfect.

Subbed, Mr Bradford. Great video!
I just wish that they made the a series phones look better. I'm not asking for metal and glass backing, but the camera bump and the weird metal rings around the camera's on the a52 look really cheap. They should put the camera bump right in the corner like the s21u and give it the same type of look. It seems like all samsung phones look different and I think that if samsung tried to make all their phones look similar and made their lower end phones a bit more premium design wise, it would really help them.

Great video! Do you think the frame rate drops in 120Hz mode could be due to ui/software optimization and fixed in later updates or is it just because of the weaker processor and something the users have to live with?

How does it compare to the A71 4G option ? My ISP recently started 5G with unlimited Data Plan, but my A71 doesn't support 5G. And the A73 5G is not available. So I am wondering if it is worth swapping over to it just for the 5G.
Battery life has actually been one of my issues with this phone. For me it seems like it ran out quicker than it did on my M31s I had been using previously (and was at the time of replacing a year and a half old) and I'm using the A53 5G the same amount as I used the M31s. It's also (after only a few months of use) not charging half the time, it takes me several attempt at plugging in the charger to get it to recognise it, and this isn't a cable issue (the cable that came with the phone) as I've tested the cable with other things and it works fine

Is there any other samsung smartphone which is a smaller version of this?
I have had my A53 almost 2 weeks and love it! I bought a fancy case for it. I didn't think the other colors were available in the US, but since I have the case, is a non-issue. The speakers are amazing, better than my prior S21. I abandoned that one, as I really need the expandable memory. As I am a blind user and utilize the TalkBack screen reader, I do wish there were a stronger vibration intensity. That is akin to wishing for a screen with more contrast. :) They also need to update the Samsung TtS version from the 3.1.02.95 to the --97. Even my S9 has that version, but again, that one is unlocked, whereas this one is locked to our carrier, but I've been reassured through Samsung that the new version will get here. I notice what you are saying in the performance area, only when pointed out to me, and not noticeable in every day tasks.
I paid £249 for my brand new A53 5G on the October Prime day and have no complaints. Because the phone is only 6 months old, I will get 4.5 years of security updates. The Exonos processor seems fast to me, and it will play all of my games. PS I have read that Samsung have a glut of unsold A series phones and so there will be lots of opportunities to buy them cheaply on Black Friday.

I’m an iPhone user but I saw a video review for the Samsung a13 5g where they said to turn off the animations for launching apps and that eliminates most of the lag when opening apps. Also, I used to have Android phones in the past and you’d be surprised how many people in 2022 still have to be told to routinely use the memory cleaner that releases RAM and your cache. That’s very vital to the android setup and if you don’t maintain your phone, apps will crash and you’ll have lagging and other issues too. I’m sure the Exynos chipset is part of the problem on the a53 5g but most reviews I’ve seen on phones that had that chipset pointed out it’s not crazy bad. Yeah you’ll get the odd hang up or stutter but even iPhones sometimes do that too. I’m impressed by the a53 5g and if Samsung had released the a33 5g I might’ve ended up getting that phone. I love my iPhone XR but it isn’t equipped for 5g and even mid range Samsung phones have many different things iOS doesn’t.

It take a photo so loooooong, I do press the button and I'm waiting about some seconds before that moment when my Galaxy A will take a photo. I know maybe it isn't so important but for me it is. Because when you're waiting about some seconds, you're losing the moment that you could save to you're gallery. Here we do have the enough quality of camera, but I want to would it was as fast as an flashlight speed like lightning. Thank you for you're video it was awsome like this new awsome galaxy.
