Im currently using my a53 and im loving it, the recent updates it got made it so much better than when it first came out, so I wouldn't make the ugrade to the a54 unless it had a way better chipset like the snap dragon

It's wt it should be actually. Samsung's real miss is not making a flagship killer like Chinese brands. An A74/s23 Fe with bigger display and the 8 gen 2 chip would absolutely kill it ( no QI or fancy cameras needed to make it expensive )

still happy with my a53, really i think these are incredible value. funny people spend several times this on iphone to get technically smaller battery,less ram,no hole punch camera, half the refresh rate, lightning port, ios😂 the a54 doesnt look like a big enough improvement for me to upgrade though. also hope they add wireless charging in the next one, then these arent really missing any features

Yeah man very true! These iPhones aren’t all they’re cracked up to be. Overpriced and apps don’t really load up much faster than a decent android these days either.

The vjdeo i have been waiting for i did get the a53 last month i was a iphone user i had the se 2 but the battery was dying to frequently and the phone would freeze i needed a new phone so i saw the a53 ( i brought the a53 before the a54 was announced) and i brought it i loved the way it looked but it was very slow and the fingerprint took time i guess it was the chip i returned it for the a54 and i dont regret yes its another 50 bucks but it was worth it the a54 is faster and i love it The pros of a54 Big battery 5000mah it lasts me 8 hours a day Expandable storage Chip Speakers Design looks modern and almost identical to the s23 Way faster than a53 Night camera is amazing Runs very smoothly Cons A little big for me Charging takes 2 hours But it is a good phone the a54

Great summary! I agree, I think the A54 is much better performance-wise, and the battery life is going to be a lot better compared to the iPhone SE for sure. You made a great choice!

I'm actually pleasantly surprised with the performance of the Galaxy A54 5G and in some ways it even exceeded my expectations regarding buying a midrange phone. Definitely so much better than my older flagship phone. Although the screen is a little smaller due to the form factor being more rounded than it's predecessor A53 5G I don't see why A54 could be a bad option. And honestly if I am trying to save some bucks and I really don't mind the notch I would have gone with the bit larger A34 5G but that teardrop Infinity-U shape notch is just horrid and outdated and since there's no FE phone this year I decided to go with A54 5G. Cuz I'm so tired of buying flagship Galaxy phones where they keep on dropping features that are very significant with me such as the microSD card slot and adding features that I personally couldn't care less such as eSIM which in the Philippines is really inconvenient cuz unlike abroad where you can easily change carriers with an eSIM it wasn't really implemented that way here and so I see no real reason why I should use a flagship phone and an eSIM and I am not really bothered of the cameras since A series has a great camera too and it's not that awful that you would have to spend $1960-$2000 for an S23 Ultra here in my country. For A54 really can deliver great specs at a great value. And I personally would pick Samsung Exynos on my A54 5G as a processor rather than A34's MediaTek Dimensity. So yes so far I am a proud owner of a brand new Galaxy A54 5G and every experience is so worth it! #SamsungGalaxyA545G #AisforAwesome #AisforAmazing #AisforAffordable

​@camotech1314 Maybe you should go read a benchmark instead. The exynos may not be as smooth but it delivers significantly better performance.

Probably not enough to upgrade. The A55/56 will be my goto phone from A53. The A54 does support WiFi 6 it seems so that might be important for some. My experience with the Exynos soc isn't stellar. Even for day to day use I can feel the soc working its ass off. They're not slow. It's just that you kinda feel it's working too hard to deliver the performance. Never had that impression with the Snapdragon and Mediatek.

I think the A55 is going to basically bridge the gap between the A and S series. With a snapdragon processor and better camera capabilities, it would be perfect

I've got a upgrade coming in December. I have for the past 2 years A52s. I'm very happy with this phone and it would take alot for me to part with it for a different model.

Been waiting for this comparison so thank you again TechDaily! I know people who still have A53's and they are satisfied with them still even today. I also like how the A54 this time around is a bit more wide. The A53's look is reminding me of the S20 FE. Aside from the wallpaper at least, just the build, its size/how wide it is.

for yall saying the video quality is still bad they put a patch on may 2023 where it upgraded the video quality 4k30fps (on selfie, main and ultrawide) all now have eis (ois+eis on main)

If you treat the phone as if you were a chimpanzee, of course, it would be easier to break. That's what cases are for. Like, who uses a phone without a case? I literally don't see anybody use a phone without a case. That's like using a frying pan without a handle. Like I am sorry if I am a bit offensive but you have to be kind of stupid to use a phone without a case. Cases are a must have for phones it's literally like an unwritten rule. A phone without a case feels incomplete. Also, the A54 does not break easily at all. You really have an unnhinged hatred towards the A54 phone as if it killed your grandmother or something, lol.

I've had the 53 for about a year my only complaint is when I don't get 5G it takes forever to change to 4G and it's very annoying when you're in a hurry!!!

I got a a53 2 days ago being Australian prices $499 for the a53 and @699 for a54 wasn't worth the price difference

still with my a51 you recommended. planning to upgrade to poco f5 since a54 is too expensive for my budget and i don't really like the performance of it in terms of gaming. my a51 is actually still good for 2023 but my problem with it is battery life and since I live Philippines it gets very HIGH temperatures when im using mobile data and just playing like color switch, like it gets to 50c so yea not good, also my problem with it is performance and thats probably why im will upgrade

Don't forget the A54 will get one more year of software updates since it's newer. That equates to an extra year of longevity. That could tip the balance in favour of the A54 versus the A53 😀

I have been using the A53 for the last 1.5 years and upgraded to the A54, both unlocked phones bought from Amazon. I LOVE my A53 its been hard getting used to the A54 due to extra weight and different screen sizes, the A53 is taller and skinnier while the A54 is shorter and wider (and yes you can definitely feel the difference). I have noticed browsing the web a little faster with the A54 over the A53 with 8gb ram on the A54 vs. 6gb ram on the A53. Between the heavier weight, shorter screen and camera downgrade on the A54 its a tough call. I like the way the A53 feels in the hand over the A54 but you be the judge, there's my 2 cents, spend how you like...

The a 53 was meh the a54 has serious S 23 vibes and Samsung heard the performance issues that all the a53 customers were complaining of because this new exynos 1380 is way better night and day difference and the speech to text has gotten really really good for Samsung

Currently an apple user and I’m becoming annoyed with the memory issues with the phones. Personally I much prefer Apple to Android however Apple is making their products more expensive and the memory just gets eaten up and I then have to purchase iCloud storage to keep photos music documents etc and it’s annoying to say the least. Currently have 15.61 GB of memory that won’t budge because it’s all system and IOS updates. I only have 64GB to begin with. Had to cancel Apple Music and move to Spotify because Apple has it so that every little bit of data or whatever is used takes up memory too. I only listen to cloud music and have no music downloaded to my phone yet Apple Music was taking up 6GB for “ Documents and Data “ this has been an issue for years and they aren’t fixing it after idk how many people complained. Their solution is “ Uninstall and Reinstall the app “ Which isn’t a fix. It’s a hassle. Then I tried One Drive and the same issue they want me to buy more storage. So I say all this to say that I use Spotify. I watch KZread. Have some apps and surf the internet along with reading books and I love taking photos so I’m not trying to do anything insanely crazy on my phone. With all this being said can someone tell me what Samsung would be better for me? A52 53 or 54? I don’t want junky looking photos or bad speakers and SD cards are a must. Any ideas?

Thanks to everyone who replied to my comment on this video about the haptics on the A54. I finally decided to get the A54 and I can attest that the haptics and vibration are VERY GOOD on it. They don't feel cheap and are very solid. Definitely doesn't feel like previous budget phones when it comes to haptics 💯

LOL up grade...I'm still at A12 and I don't see a reason to move on until it's no more.

I've had an A11 since early 2021 and I'm trying to find an upgrade right now cause my phone is a sloth. Looking at A32, A52, and A54. What do you recommend for 2023? Looking to spend less than $500 and have a good camera and general speed and response time

No wireless charging. I always wireless charge at night to keep my port from wearing out. Its a shame phones peaked in 2018. No more sensible screen ratios, headphone jacks, wireless charging, 2k screens, DAC, thin lightweight rounded form, interesting colors

I used both, the A54 has the better screen, speakers, and most importantly processor (a53 was a laggy mess). Only single plus for the a53 is the smaller size/weight the a54 is a downgrade in that one regard.

The bezels get thicker each year... like, WTF? Just look at all the older models, they are thinner and with smaller bezels. Is the designer blind or something? 😏

Alot of ppl didn't like the A53, but the A54 seems to be well liked. What a difference a processor can make!

FYI the a54 doesn't have video stabilization at 1080p 60 or 4k 30 your limited to 1080p 30 if u want video stabilization
